  • Perfect location, comfortable good price

"The property is just as pictured on VRBO, stairs to bathroom are not for those with disabilities. Caretake Lorenzo was there waiting for us on arrival, and was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was nicely stocked to cook simple meals and very comfortable. Bed was comfortable, and shower had great water pressure with enough hot water for a 5-7 min., shower. The only draw back is the windows are not double paned and can allow a great deal of noise from the street. This is the trade off for being in the best location for seeing all of the Roman sights. I wore ear plugs, tried to get on the Roman schedule. Some sort of white noise was also helpful. I would stay here again!"

  • I'd recommend this for its ...

"I'd recommend this for its excellent location close to the Forum and Colosseum and an easy 30 minute walk to Trevi Fountain etc. Colosseo Metro is just a few minutes away. I used the Largo Agnesi exit on the second floor as I found it a short walk to the apartment and a good way to avoid the Colosseum crowds. I felt the apartment was simple, bright and clean. I found the bedroom at the front had noise from the street; groups hiring bikes from the cycle shop in the morning and people sat outside the Irish Pub at night. This room also had an ensuite shower which ran cold much on the time and had little power which was very disappointing. The rear bedroom is quieter, and the second bathroom has a bath with shower hose. For basic groceries there are simple mini-markets in the immediate area on Via Cavour, and a great choice of fresh food in CarreFour 10 minutes walk, on Via dei Santi Quattro. The extra dark chocolate gelato in Flor Gelato on the corner of Via Cavour, very close to the apartment, is superb! There is an 'Italy With Us' tour office a minute from the apartment on Via del Colosseo, I took their Colosseum Tour and the 8am Vatican Tour, both beat the queues and were very informative."

  • I can't think of enough good things to say

"Great, warm, helpful hospitality--you will be treated like guests; terrific suggestions for where to eat/shop in the neighborhood; even a shelves of books on Rome, in multiple languages. (Saw something intriguing in a museum with poor signage? Look it up in the Blue Guide when you get "home.") We were there for nine nights, so practicalities were important to me. Both dishwasher and washing machine worked very well; plenty of hot water; close to supermarkets, grocers, and great bakeries. But also so very close to Trastevere, and the Pantheon, and ancient Rome, and everything else you might want to do (because Rome is small and because apartment is centrally located). Tram line right around the corner (although we walked everywhere). The apartment itself is as described and as pictured in photos--elegant modern furnishings, smartly and efficiently arranged, with wonderful preservation of older details (sometimes hard to get out of bed because I just wanted to stare at wooden ceiling). It's on a cool little back street and overlooks a pedestrianised street (leading to the historic Jewish ghetto). I liked just walking into the atmospheric building, through the courtyard. The only possible reason not to book the apartment is if you have difficulty with stairs, in which case it is sadly not for you. Otherwise--well, I ate a lot of gelato and drank a lot of wine, so I was grateful for the stairs!"

  • Location, location, location

"We walked and rode bikes everywhere so the central location was very good. The property was safe and quiet although there was no view to speak of. There were adequate cooking facilities and the bathroom was a reasonable size. Even though the unit was only on the 1st floor we were grateful for the lift after a day's riding or walking in the summer sun. The bed was comfortable and the unit, though small, was good for the price. The owner organised reasonably priced transport to and from the airport and was very helpful in all aspects."
