  • Fantastic stay in Monterosso al Mare - great "home" base for exploring Cinque Terre

"We were 3 couples traveling together from the states. We rented the top & bottom of this property. Location was perfect as home base to explore Cinque Terre. We had parking for our rental car (which we did not touch the entire time we were in Cinque Terre). The house was 1 minute walk to the beach and fabulous restaurants. The train station was also a very easy walk. There is a large window in the upstairs living room that swings on a heavy duty hinge, which was really unique and we loved the look of it. Apparently, the previous renter had broken the huge glass window and I was still finding pieces of glass, even after I pointed out some pieces of glass on the chair and floor to Elizabeth, the rental agency person who was giving me the tour of the house, and she had cleaned those pieces up. The property was quaint and the grounds were pretty, especially the grounds outside of the immediate house- it was located in a gated neighborhood. There were not a lot of stairs to this unit so that was quite a relief after the amount of stairs we walked on to hike from Monterosso to Vernazza - which then tweaked a couple of our knees...the price of aging ;) I suppose. Our bedroom was quite comfortable but the other 2 couples felt that their bedrooms (one upstairs and one downstair - which was 2 twins pushed together) could have been a bit more comfortable. The one that had the twin beds had a bathroom which shower stall leaked on to the floor and the shower was a bit backed up. However, Daniella was very quick to respond to our report of the problem. The kitchen had everything we needed (though we didn't really make use of it too much, as the food in the area was so reasonably priced). There was a washer but no dryer (which I believe is the standard in Italy) that you had to access from the outside of the house in a "closet" type room. It was nice to have but the machine seemed like the liner was a bit moldy. One of our friends cleaned it out though. Clothes were hang to dry . We really enjoyed sitting out on the top deck overlooking the sea and on a clear day, you can see each of the cinque terre towns in the distance. On one of the nights, we booked a dinner at Daniella's home and she was a lovely hostess. She and her husband cooked us a traditional italian meal and it was one of the better meals we had while in cinque terre. We truly enjoyed our evening, feeling like we were living like the locals. We all agreed that we would definitely come back again."

  • Comfortable Montorosso Apartment with Ocean View

"We enjoyed our stay at this spacious apartment in Montorosso, while visiting the Cinque Terre region. The apartment was very close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. It is on the 3rd floor, so probably not a good choice for those who have trouble with stairs. The apartment was nicely furnished, although the beds were not a firm as we like. The living room had a small balcony with a view of the ocean; we enjoyed sitting there when we weren't out exploring the area. Guilietta, the local contact for the agency that rents the apartment, met us at the Montorosso train station which is five minutes from the apartment. She was very helpful both during the check-in process and later during our stay. When one of us had a minor medical issue, Guilietta actually visited the medical office at the Municipality (equivalent to the town hall) to help us get in touch with a doctor. We saw Guilietta frequently while we were in Montorosso and she always asked how we were doing. She was easy to contact if we had questions and promptly responded when we had a door latch that needed fixing. We found staying in Montorosso to be a good decision. We enjoyed having dinners out (although the small kitchen was well equipped and we could have chosen to "eat-in"). The town was busy during the day but quieted down in the evening and it was a lovely stroll from the apartment along the water to the old section of town. We visited all five towns in Cinque Terre but we were glad we chose to stay in Montorosso."

  • Perfect Location in Monterosso

"We spent 3 fantastic days in Luisa's apartment in September 2016. If you want a central location with easy access to everything in Monterosso, look no further. The flat is split over two levels, is very clean, organised, and has a fantastic fully equipped kitchen. The shower has strong water pressure as well. Luisa met us upon arrival and sorted us out with coffee, a basic map, and key points in Monterosso. You will hear the trains going by which may be bothersome to some, but with closed windows (or if you live in a big city) it is no problem. Monterosso is a great place to use as a base in Cinque Terre with fantastic restaurants and beaches for relaxing after long days hiking. Enjoy!"

  • Perfect location

"We had a very comfortable stay in this house which is very close to the beach and beside shops, restaurants and playground. The house is well equipped and spacious. The garden is an added bonus."
