  • Beautiful, well-located villa

"Hi Marguerite and Veronica, I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to stay at Villa La Quercia! Our family thoroughly enjoyed your gracious hospitality, especially the dinner you made for us and the cooking class. We are enthusiastic about making our own focaccia and pasta now. The La Quercia was perfectly located for us to drive to the many vineyards and olive estates as well as go into Florence (by bus, even) for a day. The villa was beautiful and amply spacious for the 8 of us and we likely would have used the pool, if it had been a little warmer. You both were very patient in answering our questions and were helpful in giving us travel tips in setting our itinerary. Once again, we thank you for all the time and effort you put into making our family vacation such a memorable one. Bruce Varty"

  • Perfect Getaway for 2 couples

"I can't fully describe how amazing this part of our trip was! Myself, husband, and another couple vacationed together in other parts of Italy (Naples, Florence) for one week and then spent our final week at Castle Belforte. It was magical. Angelo contacted us prior to the stay to meet up with us in the town of Bagno a Ripoli, and then he drove us to the grocery store so we knew where that was, and then up to Castle Belforte. As you would imagine, the drive up is along a long, narrow, winding road that appears to be 1-way but is 2-way (no surprise there if you are used to driving in Europe!), but you get used to it pretty quickly. The views of Florence and the Tuscan countryside were amazing. Angelo and his wife, Claudia, showed us around the castle and gave us their contact information should we need anything - they live in the rest of the castle right next door, so they were very easy to locate; we also met his 2 children throughout the week and they are all so welcoming and friendly. The villa itself was beautiful - even better than the pictures - very clean with adequate linens and towels. We spent half of our time lounging in the Castle and relaxing at the pool (which is certainly a hike, but worth it!), and the rest of our time we took day trips to various wine regions. That said, we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Castle many days - the kitchen was small but perfect for our needs. Stocked with some dishes and the basics (salt, pepper, sugar) - we could have used a couple of large serving bowls since our dinners were all family style, but we made do with what was available and it was no big deal! Angelo also had a bottle of wine for us upon arrival and once he realized we were actually cooking, he brought over some olive oil from the property. There are also bushes of sage and rosemary right out front. The 2 main bedrooms were perfect for 2 couples - both really nice in their own way, so no one got a raw deal! The third bedroom is probably best for kids and is not nearly as nice, so in short this is really a perfect place for a family or 2 couples. Getting into Florence is easy (20 minutes), and getting out to other areas is also straightforward as long as you have good navigation. Overall, this is an amazing find, and I would love to come back for a future visit to Tuscany! Thanks to Angelo and his family for being amazing hosts!"

  • Exceeded all expectations

"My family and I stayed at the villa in October 2016. After reading the reviews, we had very high hopes for our vacation, the 8 days we stayed at the Villa exceeded all expectations. The villa itself is pearched on the side of a the Tuscan hills in a place so beautiful that it was quite frustrating that we could never quite capture the beauty in any of our pictures. Being inside the villa transports you back in time, as if you were an Italian royal. We all miss Fely the chef the most. She was welcoming, warm and an amazing cook. We would all recommend spending your Tuscan vacation here, words and pictures will never be enough to describe the perfect Tuscan experience we all had."

  • Fabulous flat in Florence

"This flat was so spacious. It was perfect for my husband and I. Elizabeth was amazing. She met us and had everything ready for our stay. It was perfectly located close to restaurants, sites, shopping. There was a small grocery store close as well. Very clean and the bed was comfortable. Julie & Bryce Anchorage, Alaska"
