  • Charming Tuscany!

"Our family of 14 stayed very comfortably in Alessandro's villa! We arrived and were blown away by the villa grounds and the charm of the house. The pictures do not do this place justice as far as giving you the full view of what you are truly getting just outside Florence. We enjoyed cooking in most nights (because the gardens were just too spectacular to leave) and lounging in the gardens. The sunsets are not to be missed, and we journeyed out the front gate with a glass of wine to see the sun set just over the Duomo which can be seen from the road. Alessandro and his brother Enrico were great with helping us organize day trips and also offered to call and set up dinner reservations if we needed. The bus stop is not far from the villa (although it is a hike if you are not used to walking longer distances), but we were able to park at the parking lot on the hotter days when we didn't feel like walking (it's free!!). The kids (and adults) enjoyed cooling off in the pool after a day in the city which made a perfect segway into relaxing with a glass of wine before dinner. We utilized Mina's cooking services on our last night and enjoyed an authentic home cooked meal which helped complete our experience. The whole experience from check in to check out was seamless and we could not be more appreciative of Alessandro and his family. Our family had a vacation for the books!"

  • Magical Stay in a Magical Place

"My husband Bob and I didn't know what to expect when we got off the bus from Florence and didn't know where to turn. When we started down the lane, we realized we were entering a magical place. Anna greeted us by the door to the apartment and couldn't have been more welcoming. The apartment had wonderful spaces and ambiance. It included dishes, utensils and pots and pans to enable us to cook well as well as towels, blankets, etc. Even though it's modern and up to date including a washing machine, it has old world charm and it's roots go back a thousand years. Mario told us it used to be where they stored olives after the harvest. The village of Impruneta is a small bus ride away with nice restaurants, some shops, a beautifully restored church and a hidden supermarket! Once we stocked up on food from Impruneta we were able to sit quietly and have good meals. Spending time just wondering around the farm listening to birds and the breeze calmed weary travelers. Every time we looked around there was something to photograph or sketch. And the quiet at night even with rain was very soothing. Mario helped us negotiate the buses to Florence and Impruneta. Mario took us to the bus the last morning and waited with us for it to come. They were wonderful hosts and we would certainly stay there again. The only thing we regret is not bringing friends with us. Next time!"

  • Fantastic Villa

"Our family of 8 (4 couples) had an amazing week at La Quercia. The property is beautiful, each bedroom comfortable, and we enjoyed walking in the vineyards and olive groves behind the house. It was even warm enough to enjoy the pool one day in mid-April. Very quiet and private location, but only a 2 minute drive / 20 minute walk into town. We enjoyed several dinners at La Loggettina restaurant on the main square in Impruneta, other nights we shopped at the Coop and cooked in the fabulous kitchen at the villa. Veronica and Margherita were great to communicate with, quick to respond to questions, and helped with restaurant reservations in Florence. We also loved Veronica's cooking class on our last evening. Great location for day trips we took to Florence, Siena, Chianti, Pisa, Volterra. A perfect vacation and would be happy to return one day."
