  • Lots of plusses and (maybe) a minus

"This comfortable apartment is located in a pretty neighborhood behind the Boboli Gardens in the Oltranto section of Florence. That location is part of the "plus" because it's very, very quiet, and a welcome respite from the crowds of so much of Florence. The location is a bit of a "minus" though, because it does take awhile to get to the art galleries and churches over the river. There is a handy shortcut through a park that's available during the day, and there are a couple of bus lines that run near or fairly near the apartment. We bought a bus pass and made a lot of use of the buses. They run frequently. The apartment is well-equipped, with a small but entirely functional kitchen. There was some coffee, olive oil, and a few of the other basics available for us. Outside on the patio is a nice table and chairs, but it was a bit too cool for us to eat out there in the morning, sad to say. Outside, there's also a washing machine, stocked with detergent that was available for us to use. The living room has a TV, but we can't say much about it because we never used it. The WIFI is reliable and pretty strong. The bedroom that we used has a very comfortable bed, plenty of storage space and - that rarity - good lighting next to the bed for reading. The bathroom was small but very adequate. There was plenty of hot water, and everything worked fine. The arrangements for checking in were smooth, and the owner gave us a very thorough tour of the apartment. All in all, very satisfactory."
