  • Beautiful and relaxing stay in Tuscany

"We had an amazing time at the barn! I should start by saying that the photos do not do the house justice as it is far lovelier! The house is wonderful with a huge open plan living area that is beautifully furnished and leads out onto the al fresco dining area with views over the Tuscan countryside. The pool is much bigger than we expected with plenty of space to sit and relax and is very private (not overlooked at all). The bedrooms are spacious with comfy beds and excellent air conditioning. We were 9 guests (including baby) and it didn't feel over-crowded at all as there was so much space. There are a couple of neighbouring properties but we hardly saw the residents and when we did they were very pleasant. There is a good restaurant/takeaway in walking distance (approx 10/15 min walk although the return journey is uphill) and plenty more restaurants and shops a short drive away - the village of Montecarlo is particularly picturesque with a number of good restaurants along its Main Street and square. It was a straightforward 30 minute drive from Pisa airport and the local roads are quiet - also nice for running and cycling. The owners were very helpful and friendly offering as much advice as needed on where to go and what to do. My only minor criticism is that if you are not used to Italian recycling rules then it is quite complicated - even with the owners careful instructions! It would be easier if there were just 4/5 bins each labelled...,however that is only a tiny point. Overall a wonderful and relaxing stay - we will definitely be returning."

  • Fantastic spacious villa all mod cons lovelypeople

"This place was so good for our extended family holiday in 2015 we came back again this year. The villa itself is really smart, spotlessly clean and with plenty of space. In addition there is a dinky little "pool house" with another kitchen and a further double bedroom. So It can easily accommodate 5 couples and a few extra people too. Loads of fridge, freezer and cupboard space and everything kitchen-wise is provided, in duplicate, plus an outdoor barbecue. The pool is really superb, cleaned every day and perfect. But the real star of the holiday is Carla, padrona di casa, for whom nothing is too much trouble. She is kind and generous and a great cook so make sure you go for her full-blown 5-course Italian evening meal. Juri is really efficient and super-helpful too. All in all highly recommended."

  • The property was in excellent condition-- clean, neat, in a great location.

"We had a wonderful time and would definitely go back. The property was in a beautiful setting at the end of a private round between Lucca and Pescia, with the ability to hike out of the grounds up to San Gennaro (it was a little muddy for that but we would have liked to do so). The kitchen had all the necessary accouterments and Jim left us pasta and fixings for our first night and a bottle of prosecco! The hospitality could not have been better- Jim set up a great dinner in MonteCarlo and a wonderful wine tasting at Montechiari. We would love to go back soon."

  • Beautiful, quiet, comfortable

"We stayed here for 4 nights. It's a very cozy space and was a great place to relax and feel at home. Paola and David were both very helpful and very responsive. We had everything we needed. And the bed was amazingly comfortable!! This location is a bit nestled away but that's what we were going for. Lucca is about a 15-20 min drive and Florence is about an hour away by car/train."
