  • Great stay with beautiful views!

"We have just returned from a great week in Capanne 4. The views are spectacular, and we spent a very relaxing week in Tuscany. David was a great host - he met us on arrival, brought us fresh bread and pastries on two days and gave us great advice re the area. Go to this property if you want to get away from busy life - it is 30 minutes drive to Gallicano, the nearby town. Also, don't expect great wifi and telephone/tv signal in the mountains. However, if you want to relax in the mountains, with views and a pool this is just perfect - we will be returning!"

  • An amazing villa in the most stunning location

"We spent two weeks at Villa la Penna. The villa itself is beautiful and the setting awesome. We had sole use of the ground floor and found it clean and well-equipped. Some guests might find the inter-connecting bedrooms difficult to work with but you can leave the end bedroom via French doors and get to the living areas without disturbing anyone in the second bedroom. The owner, Leonardo, is delightful and we communicated via email using Google Translate on anything that we couldn't understand. He was always available but ensured our privacy at all times. The gardens are simply delightful with the most stunning views and are various sitting areas to find sun or shade as required. The pool is small but well-situated for the sun and excellent views. This wouldn't be suitable for very young children - the pool isn't gated and the walls round the garden have a sheer drop. Coreglia Antelminelli is a charming village. Lucca, Bagni de Lucca, Montecatini, Barga, Viareggio, Forte del Marmi, Grotta de Vente and Lago de Vagli are just some of the many places worth visiting and are within reasonable distance and with some of the most beautiful drives. Restaurants are good value and of a good standard. The locals are friendly too!"

  • great holiday

"We recently stayed at the villa for one week with multiple family members, a party of 10. The villa is absolutely beautiful, clean and well appointed. The views of the sea and Apuan Alps are outstanding. Clearly the property was well designed so that a large group of 14 could comfortably stay together and still have privacy. The backyard has a lovely stone patio, a large dining table that seats 14, lounges, umbrella and a nice grill, a panoramic lovely pool. The views here are wonderful, and the property is not overlooked so it is very private. It is at the very top of a private hill. The neighborhood is very quiet. Silvia and Marino was extremely helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. We have traveled all over the world, and this was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely rent it again."

"Overall: Perfect for truly embracing the Italian way of life... Simple, number of small villages close by and non commercial. Good for a getaway experience for those wanting to take short day trips to larger towns, if willing to drive on Italian roadways, preparing their own meals and no TV. Enjoyed Most: Views, small town, pool, simplicity. Enjoyed Least: Small bathroom and small bedroom. Living room furniture, which consists of two small chairs and a small sofa, are a bit worn. Surrounding Area: Luca, Pisa, Barga, Devils Bridge, and the views and simplicity of the town. Nearby Events or Locales: Coreglia Tips or Restaurants: Be willing to drive if you want to take in famous towns and sites. Great place for quiet solitude and simplicity. Directions: Need distance between turns. Check In Out: Well done."
