  • Wonderful holidays

"In June / July 2016 we spend two wonderful and relaxing weeks at Casa La Quercia. We can highly recommend this house and we will definately be back. It features a beautiful garden and is situated between the olive trees of the family. You have a magnificent view of the surrounding forests and valleys from the house and the terrace. Approximately 50 m from the house is the big swimming pool which is available for the guests. He fits perfectly into the landscape. On arrival we were very warmly welcomed by the lovely owner of the property. She showed us around and was courteous contact for questions and gave us good advice during our stay. We enjoyed the beautiful nature and the wonderful silence. As the house is away from the big cities located near the small village of Strada, we had a wonderful night starry sky and hundreds of fireflies at the house. Also our dog enjoyed the holidays and felt comfortable."

  • Beautiful views in a stunning villa!

"The villa and grounds are beautiful and you can tell a huge amount of effort goes into the upkeep and maintenance. The pool is huge with views of vineyards and hills as far as the eye can see. The villa is very large and beautifully decorated, spec'd out to a very high standard but still in keeping with the Tuscan tradition. Also has a tennis court which is a bonus! Petra the owner is most helpful before and during the trip. I would highly recommend this villa...a perfect Tuscan holiday house :)"

  • Fabulous family-friendly apartment outside Radda surrounded by vineyards

"We loved our stay at Mariolina! We're a family of 5 with 3 young boys (ages 5.5, 3 and 20 months) and it was a great 9-night base for L'Eroica. The eldest loved the loft bed, the middle was thrilled to have his own room (shares with oldest at home), and Alessandra kindly provided a travel crib for our youngest to use. We did laundry every day (took a little fiddling to figure out the clothes washer for this American but it was pretty intuitive) and put it out on the drying rack in the garden sunshine. The enclosed garden was a great feature for us -- the boys could go outside to play & climb the olive trees without us having to worry too much about where they were. The kitchen had all we needed for cooking and there were plenty of dishes for serving. We loved the quiet and enjoyed seeing the Milky Way and stars at night; we also saw a young stag, fox and porcupine on the road the day of L'Eroica (2 October). We used the heating the last couple nights as it was rainy and foggy -- it worked quickly and kept the apartment nicely warm (and the radiators were great for drying the laundry those days). The gravel road to the apartment from the paved road out of Radda is a bit bumpy in spots but our rental Peugeot station wagon handled it easily with a bit of care by the driver -- the gravel road from the Gaiole side definitely requires high clearance under the vehicle and I don't recommend attempting it. It was easy to reach Siena, Firenze, and other tourist spots (our car had built in GPS which was a great help) from the apartment. There was another group staying in one of the other apartments but we only know they were there from seeing their car in the shared parking area. Alessandra's family owns & operates the largest restaurant on the main piazza in Gaiole about 10 kms away and our boys highly recommend the gelato! This was our second trip to the area for L'Eroica and if my husband decides to ride L'Eroica again this is our first choice of a home base. Mille grazie Alessandra e famiglia!"

  • Paradise in Tuscany!

"We stayed at this stunning villa for 6 nights and were blown away. The pictures are nice but the villa itself has to be seen to be believed. We were 2 couples and we stayed in the 3 bedroom upstairs apartment and absolutely loved it. Less than a half hour from Sienna and about 1 hour from many popular destinations (San Gimignano, Montalcino, Montepulciano), we really had the time of our lives. We decided to take the italian cooking class with Enzo (the owner of the villa) and his 2 sons (Duccio and Max) and it was a night to remember. The sweetest people you can imagine and just mouth watering food and wine. They come to the villa, prepare their class, and then treat you to a 4 course meal of typical Tuscan cuisine. Definitely a highlight of our trip. Needless to say, we 100% recommend the villa. Romantic getaway, family vacation, travelling with friends, it's the perfect place to go. We were given a tour of the 2 bedroom apartment at the ground floor, equally stunning but we liked the fact that the upstairs had more than 1 bathroom. We left the villa with heavy hearts but I am certain that we will return one day. Can't wait!"
