  • A perfect Tuscan getaway.

"What a terrific place. We were greeted at the house by owners Tullio and Paula who were in the process of filling our welcome basket with fresh grapes and figs from the garden. They instantly made us feel at home and went out of their way to ensure that our holiday was a pleasure -- really wonderful people. We stayed in Capanna, one of several renovated properties on the Tenuta Larnianone estate. There were four of us in three bedrooms and each room had an ensuite bathroom. We were looking for a "Tuscan country house experience" and from inside to out it exceeded our expectations. The views were incredible -- postcard perfect sunrises and sunsets. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals, including several bottles of the wine produced by the estate (we enjoyed it with our dinner). The house was very clean and well maintained. The overall condition was excellent. A car is highly recommended (a necessity really) but the driving in the area is pretty easy. There is plenty of parking around the Siena city perimeter and it's an easy walk or bus ride to the center of town from there. We parked at the train station for a day trip to Florence (a little over an hour away), and drove to places like Radda, Montalcino, and San Gimignano. From our first contact with Anna via Homeaway, the attention to detail, organization, and communication were outstanding. The location and accomodation were exactly what we wanted, but it was the geniune hospitatility of our hosts that made it a truly extraordinary visit -- one we'll remember for a very long time. We can't wait to get back!"

  • Beautiful historic villa with amazing views!

"Great, quiet, beautiful property with amazing views of the villas vineyards of both olive oil and wine. Living back in time basically staying in buildings from the 7th century. Very authentic experience with friendly, warm and welcoming people. Going on a tour through the house was breathtaking and really made us in awe of the villa. Couldn't recommend it enough for a truely special stay!"

  • Rustic, private and very charming

"We stayed at this house with our 6 month old baby and were very well catered for. A cot and high chair were provided and due to the house being built on top of a cave, the bedroom (ground floor) stayed nice and cool for the little one. It has shutters to keep even the tiniest bit of light out but mesh screens to stop the insects if you want to let the light in. The kitchen is on the first floor and due to the grounds being split, you can access the property both ways. It is extremely private with the most beautiful gardens which stretch out in all directions. The pool was kept clean and the view of a real scenic Italy is possible from inside it. We were within an hour of many great locations to drive to and were provided with some suggestions on arrival which we used. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, as were the bathroom and outdoor areas. We brought the baby cam which worked on their free WIFI so were able to sit outside on the night time and relax. The owner lives on the other side of the property but never 'bothered' us, only came to make sure we were settled. We arrived much later than expected and felt awful but she welcomed us with open arms (quite literally) and gave the baby a hug. Nice touch. There is a local supermarket which is fairly big and several places to eat nearby. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone really, young, old, with kids however it is much more suited to anyone who likes to be private and wants to relax."
