  • heaven on earth

"we have just returned to the US after a month at Pergolaccio and are in mourning: the wonderfully restored farmhouse with its huge beams, the perfect terrace overlooking the Umbrian landscape, the refreshing pool, fruit trees of every kind and the kind caring of the housekeeper and her husband, the gardener. It was a magical stay, with respective (adult) children and grandkids rotating through. Everyone loved it. Owners' recommendations are excellent and we enjoyed their well appointed kitchen and abundance of Deruta ware; the proximity of the delightful town of Todi for passigato and gelato make it all a winner."

  • Thank you Panicale for welcoming me to your Village

"Phyllis from Australia I have recently returned home after spending two wonderful weeks in an Italian village called Panicale. Panicale with a population of approximately 500 people is situated on the border of Umbria and Tuscany and nestled high above Lake Trasimeno. This village is the ideal ‘base camp’ for day trips, I managed to visit Assisi, Cortona, Perugia, Montepulciano, and Castiglione del Largo and then have the luxury of returning to the peace and quiet of my apartment. I choose to stay at ‘The Artisan’s House’, a well-equipped and exceptionally comfortable apartment which was ideally situated with a short walk from the old gate and the car park area. The apartment overlooked a small, quite park outside the wall on one side and a lovely courtyard on the other - ideal for catching the prevailing breezes. Equally, my location was only a short walk to the supermarket, the Piazza where there are three restaurants, several small shops and a tourist office. Aldo’s Bar del Gallo is the ‘International Hub’ in the Piazza here people from all walks of life and nationality gather for morning coffee or evening drinks blending effortlessly in with the locals –the atmosphere optimises the friendlessness of Panicale. My property manager Katia is the ultimate ambassador for Panicale – she assisted in my choice of apartment to ensure it meet my individual needs – greeted me on arrival, ensured I was settled and returned the following day to introduce me to the village. Katia excels in her role – she effortless blends her professional and personal life – she is a real joy to be with and can but not earn the respect of both the owners of the properties she manages, and those of us that come to stay in her wonderful village. Thank you Katia for taking such good care of me – you radiate warmth and joy - I do plan to return on my next trip to Europe."

  • Heaven on Earth

"We are in unanimous agreement that this was our BEST vacation ever. La Collina is as close to heaven on Earth as you will ever find. We met as two American families and one from Rome to celebrate 60th birthdays with sixteen guests aged 18-65 and everyone had a fabulous time. The accommodations were perfect, the location and setting ideal, and the staff warm and helpful. From airport transport and car rental by Stefano, to greeting and introduction by Charlie, to housekeeping and more importantly cooking lessons and dinners by Guisi, we could not have been taken care of better. Todi is the perfect location to explore all of Umbria, with countless day trips 45 minutes away in any direction (Assisi, Perugia, Orvieto, Deruta, Civita, Narni, Amelia, Spoleto, Terni waterfalls). Nothing better than coming home after a hot day to a gorgeous infinity pool with a view of Todi, fabulous sunsets, and relaxing air conditioned comfort. Highway, grocery store and other amenities very convenient (15 minutes to store and funicular up to the top of Todi). If you plan to explore on foot, make sure to pack comfortable shoes and get in shape as the local area is extremely hilly, but worth exploring to see sunflower fields as far as the eye can see. The only reason we hesitated to give La Collina 5 stars is because we would be letting out the best secret and we may not be able to rent it again! Thanks for having the vision, Marilyn!"
