  • Incredible beauty and relaxation

"What a lovely week my wife and I had in this lovely villa surrounded by vinyards and olive groves. Simonetta and her husband took care of our every need, gave us recommendations, and made our stay so nice. We walked all over the large estate, enjoyed a fantastic wine tasting with a great tour of the main house and cellars, and just had a wonderful week. I highly recommend staying here. It is clean, comfortable, and historic and the views are awesome. The added bonus is their lovely dog who will steal your heart and accompany you on walks. She checks in every evening to say hi and see how you are. Thanks again Simonetta and Corado for making our stay so nice."

  • Trip of a lifetime

"The villa at Rocca di Benano was an amazing experience and I HIGHLY recommend it. I felt in instant respite mode the second I walked in the door. And this was after a 15 hour flight and two hour drive. I was in awe and truly felt the villa provided us an authentic Italian experience- but with all the modern amenities that most American's love like A/C and wifi! We were a group of 4 (two couples- we were originally a group of 6 but one couple had to cancel due to a medical situation) In some ways the space was too large for just the four of us but in other ways it we could spread out and have our own space and in this way it turned out just perfect. The very best thing about actually saying 'yes' to this trip at this villa, was Karen. She is kind, professional and genuine. She truly prepared us for what to expect and our various options without bombarding us with too much information. She's the real deal as far as understanding how to guide us; a true pro. Her pre-trip information packet which she sent through the mail was simply outstanding. It contained all the pertinence from navigating from the airport to countless detailed ideas of how to make the best of every moment. None of the people in our group had ever been to Italy before and her suggestions and experienced help us prepare in such a way that we felt relaxed and confident in soaking in every single second. The villa is an amazing structure and tells a story in every stone. The views from ANY window are stunning. The wine cellar was so unique and such a surprise I took a video of the walk down (way down) to the cellar! The rooms are clean, prepared and comfortable. Each room has so much character you can't miss. No one in your group will have a 'bad' room. Everything is well labeled and easy to navigate. (light switches, laundry- yes there is a washing machine and dryer there which we found extremely helpful in packing light enough to return with goodies from Italy!- the trash/recycling/compost etc) The villa was true magic for us. One night we canceled our plans and 'ordered in' and just relaxed on the back terrace. We honestly couldn't have made a better choice for our once in a lifetime vacation and feel lucky to have experienced staying in this quaint, authentic real life utopia."

  • wonderful apartment in the center of Orvieto

"My friend and I were thrilled with this apartment - spacious, immaculate, and outfitted with everything we need. The café downstairs was wonderful.....we started our day there with pastry and a cappuccino and within a day they were calling us by our first names. There is a lovely wine shop just down the street where we bought our Orvieto Classico. The apartment is exactly as pictured in the photos - no surprises. American guests will appreciate the American style coffeemaker! Mandy was so gracious in all of our communications and has a nice business arranging wine tasting and other tours, cooking lessons, and other things to do - her business is called unspoiltumbria. Roy, the property manager, was delightful - picked us up at Hertz when we arrived in Orvieto and took us to the train station the day we left. The apartment has a wonderful collection of CDs - great music to enhance the ambiance of this charming apartment. We recommend this rental and would return here in a heartbeat!"

  • A wonderful month in Orvieto

"My husband and I spent an idyllic month in this apartment in Orvieto. Susan, Mandy, and Victoria were friendly, helpful, and responsive. We loved the apartment itself - it looks even better than the photos if that is possible - and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the town. I did a lot of cooking and found the kitchen to be well equipped - we especially enjoyed the cappuccino maker. The apartment was roomy and the furniture and bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the four sets of french doors and spent a lot of time relaxing on the small deck out back. The location is excellent - everything is in walking distance (shops, bakery, the Duomo etc). We had a car for part of the month but we spent most of our time relaxing in Orvieto itself. We parked in the free lot at the base of the funicular and my husband would take the funicular down to pick up the car whenever we decided to go out of the city. There is paid parking close to the apartment but we didn't feel we needed the access. The wifi was excellent although there was one week when it was down due to a service provider problem (that's Italy for you - there was nothing the hosts could do to resolve it). There were stairs to reach the apartment which was fine by us but might be a problem for people with mobility issues. We stayed in Orvieto for the month of June and the apartment was comfortably cool until the last week when it got quite hot. Victoria gave us fans which were helpful, but please note there is no a/c so it may be quite warm inside during the summer months, even with the windows open. My husband and I would definitely love to come back and spend a month in the fall some year."
