  • AMAZING!!

"Amazing! Wonderful! Fantastic! These were the words we have been using over and over again to describe our time at the Residenza Monteporzano. We are a family of 12! Nana and Papa (Nonna and Nonno), their 3 daughters and the daughters' families. We spent a very lovely week at Monteporzano and felt extremely cared for. We were welcomed very warmly by Guilio and he gave us lots and lots of information about the region, what to see, where to go, how to get there, etc. In fact, we had many emails with Guilio before our visit to arrange our stay (traveling with a group of 12, as you can imagine, is no easy feat), and he was always very responsive and helpful. Through Guilio, we were connected with Chef Fracesco who prepared 3 exquisitely delicious dinners for us during our stay. Our kids ranged from 4 to 21, the adults from 41 to 82 - ALL enjoyed our time there. Three families (two families of 2 and one family of 4) stayed in the awesome villa - 4 bedrooms with private bathrooms and a family room upstairs, kitchen, family room, bathroom downstairs, with direct access to a beautiful terrace and yard. We ate all our meals at the large table out back, stopping every 5 minutes to remark on the breath-taking vistas all around us. Another family of four enjoyed one of the upstairs apartments, with two bedrooms, a large living room and two bathrooms. We all enjoyed the beautiful pool! And when Guilio had to be away, the property manager Daniele took exceptional care of us - one time making reservations for us at a lovely roadside restaurant Cacciatore (on the way to Lake Bolsena) and then calling the restaurant while we were there to ensure we arrived safely and were being treated like royalty! Residenza Monteporzano is a place we would LOVE to return to again and again. Thank you Guilio!!! With much love and gratitude, The Ray Family"

  • The EXCELLENT Reveiws Are All True

"We just returned from our weeklong visit in Orvieto. Everything positive you read in the reviews are true. Incredibly beautiful apartment and so perfectly stocked. Amazing location really close to everything. The town is big enough to be really interesting and yet easily walkable. We stayed an entire week and were never bored. The photos you see of the home are all accurate. The home really could not be more spectacular. It truly gives you a sense of being in Italy. The beds are comfortable. The home was clean. The coffee maker is amazing. Michele and her son Alex were amazing to work with. Really cannot find one thing negative to say. Everything worked out exactly the way a traveler would want it to unfold. Absolutely no problems from beginning to end. Lots of great restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. Small grocery store is very close and a much larger one (Meta) is about a 10 minute walk. If you don't see something, ask! Often things are behind the counter. The home has shopping bags and a rolling bag/cart for shopping. Great local market held on Thursday (and Sunday). Shopped for wonderful things and made an amazing meal in the gourmet kitchen. The kitchen is spectacular furnished as well as mine at home. Fish and butchers are nearby, but you may need to ask someone where they are. Many of the shops have their doors covered with a type of hanging rope (think 1970's beads going across the doorway), which makes seeing inside difficult. We went to the fishmonger and what an experience that was! He spoke no English and we spoke no Italian. Lots of pointing and gesturing and laughter! Most folks speak Italian and those that don't are still pretty easy to communicate with. Lots to do nearby if you want to rent a car. We drove the countryside, visited wineries and went to Assisi. Wanted to see the cathedral for St. Francis, but we could not get in as the Pope was visiting on that day! We had two couples in our party and there was something for each one of us to do. Great outdoor space to sit and read or have a glass of wine. Wines are excellent and really inexpensive (about 7-8 Euro per bottle). We had several bottles for 6 Euro and they were great as well! In summary, this place is AAA+. Beautiful. Clean. Perfectly located. Wonderful walking city. Great restaurants nearby. Wonderful history. Sweet people that are glad you are there. Easy to communication with locals. Great shopping. Spectacular cathedral. Amazing owners to work with. GO!"

  • Top of the world in Orvieto

"The apartment has the most memorable views to the West and North valleys below. Spacious, modern furniture, and wide selection of books. Functional kitchen for all meals in, washing machine to catch up on travelling so much is great too. The stairs to the third floor are fine if you need to burn off OD'ing on carbonara. Oxana your host also picked us up from the train station then provided us with an orientation of the apartment and gave great recommendations for food and activities. Book this place!"

  • Beautiful updated apartment in an old castle

"We loved our stay in this apartment. The design and style of the place was lovely and comfortable. There was a balcony that faced the theater where we could watch what was happening in the town while sipping wine and listening to the church bells. The owner was a a delight and very helpful to us. We would definitely recommend staying here!"
