  • Magnificent, gorgeous historic home restored to perfection!

"Todi, Il Conventaccio is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have together with friends! We traveled with 2 other couples to enjoy Umbria and the Italian countryside. Little did we know we were stepping into a restored gem with gorgeous fabrics, original brick cathedral-like ceilings, breathtaking gardens and yummy bedrooms with lovely bathrooms. We enjoyed cooking in a sophisticated, updated kitchen close to the large sitting room with over stuffed chairs, elegant curtains and the view of the town of Todi. We walked to the lift often to experience the wonders of stonewalled Todi. Wonderful restaurants are abundant and the black truffels with rocket salad on a pizza is not to be missed! The wine is sensational and the food is a chef's delight - fresh, yummy and creative! Il Conventaccio is a special place on this earth, owner by some remarkable people who understand and have preserved the Italian culture in their restoration. Every detail was mulled over so the experience is outstanding for anyone who stays here. We ventured to Assissi which was spectacular. St. Francis's Cathedral is unbelievable and rich in history."

  • Beautiful house, great location for day trips in Umbria.

"While we only used three bedrooms all six were well appointed. Kitchen was great to cook in- end of season a few pans were past there due date- were promptly replaced when the issue was raised. Pool very nice but without heating a little chilly in mid September. Property was secluded but only a few minutes to Todi and great grocery shopping in Ponteroi. Overall, we and are guests had a great vacation. Would highly recommend- great value."

  • Heaven on Earth

"We are in unanimous agreement that this was our BEST vacation ever. La Collina is as close to heaven on Earth as you will ever find. We met as two American families and one from Rome to celebrate 60th birthdays with sixteen guests aged 18-65 and everyone had a fabulous time. The accommodations were perfect, the location and setting ideal, and the staff warm and helpful. From airport transport and car rental by Stefano, to greeting and introduction by Charlie, to housekeeping and more importantly cooking lessons and dinners by Guisi, we could not have been taken care of better. Todi is the perfect location to explore all of Umbria, with countless day trips 45 minutes away in any direction (Assisi, Perugia, Orvieto, Deruta, Civita, Narni, Amelia, Spoleto, Terni waterfalls). Nothing better than coming home after a hot day to a gorgeous infinity pool with a view of Todi, fabulous sunsets, and relaxing air conditioned comfort. Highway, grocery store and other amenities very convenient (15 minutes to store and funicular up to the top of Todi). If you plan to explore on foot, make sure to pack comfortable shoes and get in shape as the local area is extremely hilly, but worth exploring to see sunflower fields as far as the eye can see. The only reason we hesitated to give La Collina 5 stars is because we would be letting out the best secret and we may not be able to rent it again! Thanks for having the vision, Marilyn!"

  • heaven on earth

"we have just returned to the US after a month at Pergolaccio and are in mourning: the wonderfully restored farmhouse with its huge beams, the perfect terrace overlooking the Umbrian landscape, the refreshing pool, fruit trees of every kind and the kind caring of the housekeeper and her husband, the gardener. It was a magical stay, with respective (adult) children and grandkids rotating through. Everyone loved it. Owners' recommendations are excellent and we enjoyed their well appointed kitchen and abundance of Deruta ware; the proximity of the delightful town of Todi for passigato and gelato make it all a winner."
