  • The Alfama area is a ...

"The Alfama area is a fabulous place to stay to experience Lisbon. The apartment is very close to Santa Apolonia train/metro station which makes getting around to other places really easy - we had a VIVA Viagem card which for 6 euros/day allows travel on all suburban transport. One thing that would have been handy would have been if the apartment could have provided a list of local bakeries etc in the Alfama area as there are hidden away up in the streets."

  • Take a Break from the Hotels!

"What a pleasure to stay in an immaculate, fully equipped, sunny, updated, apartment set in Lisbon's cosmopolitan Bica neighborhood!. Located on the third floor, the airy apartment offers views over tile roofs, the Ponte 25 de Abril Bridge, the iconic Cristo Rei statue and the river - views which change at different times of day or weather. Host David provides lots of printed information on what to see and how to get to it as well as offering informed in person advice for your special interests. He is easy to reach by phone and helpful in every way. The neighborhood is full of reasonably priced restaurants providing delicious meals. One of our favorites, Estrela da Bica is a block down the street. A few minutes walk down towards the river takes you to the metro station and the train station with frequent service to Belem. A few more minutes walk, and you are in the Praca do Comercio with beautiful buildings facing the river. Walk up in the opposite direction from the apartment and you find the two most helpful trolleys for tourists as well as grocery stores and other amenities, not the least of which are pastry shops ringing bells as Lisbon's famous treats come piping hot out of the oven. Within sight of the front door of the apartment is the historic Bica Funicular, which runs up and down one of Lisbon's steepest hills and is fun to ride as well as to watch as neighbors go about their daily business. And, for a party of five adults, it was a very reasonably priced stay."

Enhorabuena!"
