  • Isle of Skye - land of dreams

"The point of our travelling to the Isle was to get away from the madding crowd, to spend time with family, walk in the fresh air and recharge our batteries. Skye did this and so much more. Changing weather, stunning rainbows and sunsets. The amazing light changes the scenes before you – new scenes open up in the blink of an eye. Really magical and its sheer beauty catches your breath. We know it is magical as Fairies live in Fairy Glen and bathe in the Fairy Falls while Giants walk Old Man of Storr and look out over the Quiraing. Kilt Falls pours out like a huge kettle spout while the Neist Point Lighthouse draws you to the end of the island. We will be coming back again in search of the Northern Lights and to explore caves, caverns and more beaches and hopefully staying in Waterfall View Cottage – a wonderful, warm and welcoming home from home that met our every need. Large family kitchen to eat in, good washing facilities for those masses of wet clothes, excellent heating to keep chill winds at bay and space for a bigger group. Do come equipped with correct clothing and footwear as well as most of the food you need so that you can get out and enjoy what the island has to offer from nature to local weavers, potteries, artists and castles rather than hunting for food stores. Always book well ahead for The Three Chimneys – a delicious treat."

  • Wonderful base for exploring Skye.

"Mr. Murphy Miller is a most solicitous pooch who greets you as you arrive at this charming cottage just outside the town of Dunvegan on Skye. We were greeted promptly by our lovely hostess, and Murphy's owner, Jasmine. A fire had been set on a chilly Fall afternoon, and we immediately felt welcomed by both dog and owner. Each of the two upstairs bedrooms has an ensuite, with certainly the best showers in Skye. The views across the garden toward the castle on the opposite shore are marvelous. Jasmine can provide a wealth of information on local sights and hikes. Her recommendations for local restaurants were spot on - try the Red Roof just down the road in Glendale, the baking is just remarkable. Slightly further afield, the Old School Restaurant in Dunvegan never disappoints. And a drive further on to Waternish brings you to chef Michael Smith's (formerly of Three Chimneys) new Loch Bay Restaurant for spectacular seafood. All in all, we spent a fabulous three days in a lovely and comfortable cottage."

  • Victoria & Graham, New York

"My fiance and I stayed at this glorious house in the Isle of Skye, Scotland for 5 nights and it was something out of a storybook. The pictures are exactly like the house when we arrived but the view is even better in person! Everything is brand new in the house and super comfy bed in master bedroom. We arrived to the rental at night, so when we woke up we were in awe of the water views with waterfalls! I used my zoom on my camera so many times to look at the water gushing out of the mountain and the boats passing by. It is wheelchair accessible with a ramp at the door, with an open living to easily get around in a manual wheelchair. The owners were very attentive with emails and the code for the keys in the box at the door when we arrived. All the cooking supplies needed to cook any meals, which we did a lot. Grocery store and post office for mailing post cards to family and friends, get firewood and food supplies right down the road. It was so neat sipping coffee and watching all the wildlife outside the back sliding door. We can't wait to return! Thank you for such a memorable trip, filled with tranquility, for our first time visiting Scotland. Cheers!"
