  • Overwhelming

"We had a fantastic week in Deerpath Cottage. Everything that was written was there, even better than promised! Lots of Logs for the wood burning stove, it was a bit chill in the evenings.. The environment was splendid, next to the house were great walking trails. Lots and lots of deers, rabbits, squirls, ducks and other birds could be seen from the sunroom. This was our favorite place to sit and watch wildlife! The house is very complete and clean. Couldn't be better! We would surely recommend it for a perfect Holliday in Braemar!"

"Absolutely awesome weekend. We packed for snow and got brilliant sunshine. Excellent accommodation as described-superb en suite shower, spotless on arrival.Hot tub amazing. Mountain easy to climb-dog had a smile on her face the whole time. Very private-not overlooked at all. Would highly recommend-sad to leave. Would definitely use again."

  • Perfect holiday!!

"We came to stay at Glenbardie from California; there were 4 adults and 5 kids (ages 6-11), and it was the PERFECT house. Clean, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, laundry, amazing kitchen, lots of space for everyone, and perfectly situated to walk into town for groceries, coffee, and delicious meals. We went hiking, horseback riding, castle hopping, cake-eating and much, much more. The caretaker was absolutely lovely, the owners are responsive and generous. We hope to come back again to Glenbardie, it was a dream vacation in Scotland!!"

  • Lovely cosy cottage in friendly village

"We had a wonderful start of the year in the cottage. It is very cosy and complete. Furniture and fittings a bit outdated but everything worked well. Considering the price you pay you get a lot of comfort and facilities. There are thermostat controlled radiators in every room and there is a very nice multifuel stove, so we we're nice and warm even in the winter. Facilities very complete, including bedlinnen, towels, soap, cleaning products, wood and coal for the stove, kitchen towels, cling film, pepper & salt, and so on. Also a large fridge and freezer, a washing machine and dryer. All you need to bring yourselve is your toothbrush and shampoo. The cottage was very clean, allthough the extraction hood could benefit from some more attention. There is no wifi, but good 3G reception. The bed was allright but had a dimple in the middle and was therefore maybe at end of life we felt. Owner is living a few houses further down the road and very friendly and attentive. Some whisky and shortbread were offered for welcome, how nice is that! Tomintoul is a small but very charming village with a good pub at the Avon Hotel and a store village which sells the basic every day groceries. Very beautiful surroundings for touring, walking and of course there are some very nice whisky distilleries to visit. Nice villages to visit (and drive to) are Braemer, Ballatar and Aberlour. All in all we had a really good time and highly recommand this cottage. We certainly will be back!"
