  • Great cottage in a great location!

"Stayed for 4 nights for my partners birthday. Wasn't disappointed. Lovely clean and comfortable cottage with everything we needed for our stay. Ideal cottage for a family. There was only the two of us with our two dogs and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location of Portpatrick was perfect. Good walking from the door made sure our dogs were suitably tired so we could enjoy a couple of quiet drinks in The Crown (dog friendly) before heading back to enjoy a night in front of the fire in the Potters Rest. We ate at The Crown on 2 of the 4 nights we stayed and the food was exceptional. I would definitely stay again at the Potters Rest. The only reason I haven't rated 5 star is I can see the steepness of the back garden being a problem for elderly folk or young children as the decking is very slippy when wet. Having said that in the summer time the garden would be a great asset as the views from the top are outstanding. Communication with the owner Hilary was easy and received prompt replies to any queries."

  • Absolutely gorgeous luxury!

"I am missing this place already! We had the most amazing 4 night stay here. The rooms are huge and extremely well appointed. There are two big bathrooms, one with large shower and one with a bath. The large lounge is off the very large kitchen which has a Rayburn as well as separate oven/microwave and hob. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble drier. The area is beautiful and quiet too, but only a short drive for shopping in Stranraer. I can recommend it very highly - you will not be disappointed!"

  • Clean quiet getaway

"This is an amazing getaway. It was clean and well equipped. A quiet location with a tea room which sells amazing cakes and yummy ice cream. The beach really is on your doorstep and its vast sand and warm waters where perfect for dogs playing and children paddling. So many fun attractions nearby like creams and cocoa bean...I would definitely be back. Missing the stunning seaview already"
