Menaje y toallas completo. Muy limpio y cuidado. Dueños muy agradables y amables. Zona tranquila y a 10 min andando de Sa Caleta. Muy cerca de Ciutadella. Sin duda para repetir."

  • Comfortable, well equipped villa in quiet area

"Located in a quiet part of Cala Blanca, the villa has good views over the sea and of the famous sunsets. Cala Blanca beach is a 10-15 minute walk, at half that distance there is a parade of bars, restaurants and a couple of supermarkets. You can walk a similar distance in the opposite direction to arrive at Santandria beach, equally attractive with its own restaurants and bars. We snorkelled at both beaches; very easy, very safe and plenty of fish life to see. We didn’t find an ATM in Cala Blanca, but we were in Ciutadella often enough for this not to be a problem, there are also plenty down the road in Cala’n Bosch. It isn’t the most Spanish area we have ever visited, burgers and pizzas are widely available, but it is still possible to sample various fish and paella. We were disappointed with our meal at Miramar restaurant overlooking Cala Blanca bay, no fino, no Crème Catalan or homemade apple pie and the main courses weren’t great. Even the “local fish” (grouper – 29 euros) lacked flavour, it could have done with a sauce. The service was very slow and we felt we were paying for the location. The 64 bus service into Ciutadella is easy and reasonably frequent (1.65 euros single), but beware that once summer services cease (seemed to be from last Sunday in September), later services back to Cala Blanca becomes the 65 and you have to walk from the roundabout on the main road. The villa is comfortable and functional. Kitchen is well equipped (with an induction hob!), shower worked well and we found the bed reasonably comfortable. The only thing missing for us (as Brits) was a kettle; I guess the Spanish don’t make as much tea! A safe is provided although we never felt there was any great risk in the area. The pool is well maintained and the outside area is pleasant to chill in both in the day and evenings. Parking (in September) was easy, straight across the road. The TV provides a selection of Spanish channels and the wifi / broadband generally worked very well, apart from a couple of blips when we lost it for an hour or so (we think these were connected with storms in the area). The villa is reaching the point where it could do with a little TLC, paintwork is showing its age indoors and flaking off the walls around the pool. Nothing serious, just starting to look a little shabby. Overall, if this is the area of Menorca where you want to stay, this villa is a very good option."
