  • Great Apartment, Great Location and Great Experience

"Our family of 5 just returned from a short visit to Venice, which was fantastic, and this apartment was ideal. The apartment itself is just as advertised - it was very spacious, by European standards, was tidy and has an excellent layout for a family of our size. The great room was perfect for lounging, the dining nook overlooks the grand canal which we utilized everyday for breakfast, coffee and even while getting ready to explore Venice. Bedrooms were a good size and the master has tons of closet storage - an added bonus we did not expect. AC worked well and there is a cothes washer on site which worked well. The kitchen was excellent and everything was in good working order. The bathrooms were spacious and there was plenty of hot water for our family of 5 - bonus. The location couldn't be better - it is a short 5-minute walk from the Rialto bridge. We explored almost the entirety of Venice on foot and I believe this location is ideally suited to do so. Finally, we had a great experience renting from Stephanie and especially appreciated the help we received from her colleague Bernadette (a.k.a Adair). Bernadette met us at the Rialto stop, walked us to the apartment, oriented us to the apartment, shared her insight on Venice and even arranged a private tour with a friend of hers and organized our return water-taxi to the airport on Sunday. This is a great team and I would not hesitate renting from them again. Things to note; 1. The apartment is on the second floor - no elevator so not good for anyone who would have trouble climbing a flight of stairs. 2. There is an excellent restaurant just below the apartment and they hosted events on the Friday/Saturday night that we were there. These parties took place in the courtyard that the apartment overlooks - there was some low level, conversation noise from them until about 930 PMish ... which we found charming but may annoy someone that is looking for a very quiet location. We highly recommend the restaurant for dinner. 3. Bottom line - our family rents frequently from VRBO and this apartment goes into our top 3 most favorite locations ... we loved it and highly recommend it."

  • Location, location, location

"This is a lovely, simple apartment right in the heart of Paris on the Ile St. Louis. Notre Dame, the Marais, Boulevard St. Germain, etc. are all short walks away. And the apartment combines a central location with such peace and quiet that when you need a break from the bustle of Paris, it is easy to retreat. Plenty of lovely restaurants nearby and, of course, Berthillon."

  • Amazing, spacious apartment with lots of character

"This was an amazing apartment to stay in. It was clean and spacious. The location was great, a block and a half from the famous cafe, Les Deux Magots in one direction, and a block and a half from the Seine in the other. And just across the Seine was the Louvre. The kitchen was modern with everything you need. We were able to eat in many nights, which is a great way to save money on food so we had more for shopping! Of course, we had fresh croissants and a baguette every morning, from Josephine's Boulangerie, just around the corner (right out the front door, right at the corner, closed weekends). Monoprix, a large grocery store, was just two blocks away, so it was easy to stock up on anything we needed. The bathroom was clean and modern, a very nice feature. Other than the updated kitchen and bathroom, the apartment felt like old Paris, which was great. Big windows opened to the street in the living room and bedroom. You could open the window in the kitchen and get a wonderful breeze, just remember to keep the doors from slamming shut in the breeze. The bed in the living room is a full-size queen bed tucked under a built-in bookcase. By day it was a couch, but at night you could pull it out and get a proper bed and not a uncomfortable convertible couch. This was a real plus. The antique furniture and architectural detail gave this apartment tons of character. I've stayed in places that looked like they came from Ikea. Not this place, not at all. You can tell that this is a place someone really cares about. And we did, too."
