  • Welcoming host, delightful setting and comfortable

"We were greeted with a lovely tray of local food and drink which included the largest eggs we have ever seen! Ally, the owner is most helpful and along with her children attended to our every need. We arrived looking for a real break and by the end of the week were feeling so much more relaxed. Part of the reason for that was also the beautiful setting among the Welsh hills with lovely views all around which we discovered walking along the lanes. Although it was only a few minutes to the A40, ideal for exploring that area of Wales the property was in a quiet location surrounded by lovely countryside. We would certainly recommend this accommodation as it is comfortable, spotlessly clean and spacious. Thank you Ally and helpers for a lovely week."

  • The cottage is in a fantastic location

"The cottage was as described and very clean. It had all that was needed for our 2 week stay. The view from the property was to die for and we were especially lucky with the weather. The walking from the cottage gave our dogs more than enough exercise and stimulation. Unfortunately, 6 days into our holiday the cottage was surrounded by foxhounds and men on quad bikes with guns. The foxhounds were completely out of control and we had great difficulty in keeping them out of the cottage garden. We saw 3 foxes being chased but cannot say if they were caught because they ran out of our sight. Also the Sennybridge artillery range is within earshot and it was in full use during our stay and we had 2 nights when loud artillery fire went on into the early hours of the morning. Given these 2 negative points if we had known them before booking we would not have stayed at the cottage. No amount of fantastic views can make up for seeing fox hunting in our back garden. If this isn't a concern then the cottage is a nice place to stay."
