The bed was so outrageously comfortable that every morning I woke up in a mild panic, convinced I had somehow slept through an entire day... only to discover it was still early. Turns out, this is what well-rested humans feel like—who knew?For the first time in recent memory, I woke up without that familiar “I need another eight hours” exhaustion. Instead, I felt suspiciously refreshed, like I’d been rebooted overnight by a team of highly skilled sleep technicians.Beyond my newfound relationship with rest, the place itself delivered on all fronts. The location was perfect—close enough to everything, yet peaceful enough to pretend you’ve got your life together. And the balcony? Let’s just say it made me briefly consider becoming the kind of person who drinks coffee slowly while gazing thoughtfully into the distance.All in all, it’s everything you want in a place to stay: comfortable, beautiful, and dangerously good at making you forget your responsibilities. If you need me, I’ll be trying (and failing) to recreate that bed experience at home.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I like simple, old, authentic, and right in the heart of things. So this place is golden (though I might have been happier with the decor before recent updates, but that's just me. A little coffee table would be nice. There are no dressers to unpack a suitcase in, and bathroom shelves are decorative rather than useful. One set of blinds is missing its adjustment pole. But these things are minor. The room was very quiet. As to management, I miss having someone onsite. The new management had just taken over, so I assume they're on a learning curve. Two of my three needs were easily filled -- one by text and the other by a fellow happening to be onsite just when my electronic door lock failed. (They have a backup key for that). But my third text was never answered. I asked for a missing wash cloth and also for tips about using the AC. There are two units, both with remote controls with tiny print. I'd love a printout with best settings to avoid breeze on the bed. As to the availability of concierge services, I am sure they're great with the easy stuff of booking reservations. But I started with a harder question about availability in town of handicap scooters. The response I got back was less detailed and accurate than what I could see online. So I didn't get the sense that I had a trusted friend on the ground, and I used a different service to book my other needs. Also to longtime fans of this place, the old website had a single page where you could see availability of all the rooms at a glance. That is SO helpful. I wish all resorts had that. Now you can just see availability of each room individually. But I won't let that slow me down. I love Speakeasy, and I'm already fantasizing me stay there for next year.

This is absolutely the best location to do all of the Key West things. The management company was helpful before our trip setting up dinner reservations and activities. My daughter surprised me, and the management company completely accommodated her to maintain the surprise. They also set up baggage storage and transportation to the airport. I can’t say enough good things about this property. Absolutely perfect!

Rooms clean, extremely comfortable and once the keyless code was entry was worked out, very simple to use. I would go there again.

Our room was just as pictured on the web site. It was so conveniently located to the many attractions in the town and within walking distance to great restaurants. The staff was phenomenal and a special thanks to Hilary. She was great and such a pleasure to just sit and talk with!

When the day came, I received a text message with code and instructions for room. It had a very key West feel to it all wooden in the hotel and stairway. Once in room I was pleasantly surprised. Great view of the street, great AC and comfortable bed. I was able to find parking right in front of 5h4 Fleming house. I would definitely stay again though maybe next time first floor. 5 stars for sure

We were able to walk or take the trolley to most attractions. We arrived early and if the room is ready they will let you know and you can get in early which was really nice. Room and house were clean, house was beautiful, kitchen area nice. Bed was A little soft for me but not bad. We did the Yankee Freedom Ferry and could walk there.
