Caribbean houseboat rentals

Wow. We can’t say enough about this amazing experience. The hosts are wonderful. We were just on their fantastic boat for one night - the last night of our trip, but it was perfect. We had a sail out to Tintamarre, a pristine and beautiful little deserted (amd conservation protected) island. We snorkeled, had apps and Karim’s signature cocktail as the sun went down. Then Sophie served us a great dinner out on the deck of the boat, including her delicious homemade bread! We stargazed and slept really well to the sound of the waves lapping on the shore. After a morning swim, we headed back to Grand Case. We couldn’t more highly recommend this VRBO stay! Our only regret was not booking for longer! Thank you, Sophie & Karim!

The house boat is really a house on Fresh Creek. It's not floating but is solidly on poured concrete pillars. Great accommodations. We caught multiple fish species right off the deck. We took out the kayaks and tooled around, and even caught some bonefish in the nearby flats. We swam in the creek and watched the stunning sunsets from the back deck. Andros is a gem of an island, undisturbed by the normal commercialization of the Bahamas, and this houseboat is a gem of place to stay when you're ready to relax and really get away from it all. I'd like to give a huge thank you to Gabrielle for her help making our stay great. She was readily available to help out with the small things we needed (like getting the internet hooked up or a water jug refill) at literally a moments notice.

We had a fabulous week aboard Captain Kris’ catamaran. We were a little apprehensive at first as there were no reviews, but as soon as we met Kris and boarded the boat, all our apprehension went away! Kris is a very kind and patient person. He is a very experienced sailor and told us many stories of his past sailing expeditions – including going to Antarctica! The boat had plenty of space for us all to spread out. We had sent Kris our ideal itinerary in advance, and he told us it was optimistic. We had great weather for our week, and were able to get in every spot we wanted to stop at, and then some! The first night Kris had Painkillers ready for us – and they were amazing - even better than that at the Soggy Dollar Bar! We cooked most of our meals on the boat – which took some time as the stove and oven are a bit small for cooking for 9 people – but we had no issues. We helped Kris with the moorings and he even let my son drive the boat at times. We very much appreciated all the amenities on the boat including: snorkel gear, a paddleboard, a single kayak and an inflatable tandem kayak, pool noodles and chair floats to float in. Kris also has an Optimist which is a mini sailboat that he used to teach kids how to sail on. Most of our group had a turn learning to sail – even the men! Kris took his time and taught each person individually as much as much as they wanted. If you are considering this kind of vacation – we highly recommend Kris and his catamaran!

6 nights on the Turquoise Turtle was not enough. My husband and I have been talking about doing a boat charter vacation for years. We finally planned it and it didn't disappoint. Andre and Alison were amazing. They made us feel welcome, safe and pampered. It was such a treat waking up every morning with the coffee ready and a delicious breakfast waiting for us. All of Alison's meals were wonderful, even my 4 boys enjoyed them. We were truly spoiled. Besides her cooking, highlights of the trip were snorkeling in several stunning locations, Andre's specialty drinks before dinner, star gazing on he canopies and a fierce game of dominos. Be warned Andre is tough to beat. They knew of all the hidden gems, where to snorkel, where to hike and fun places to eat. We loved every minute and hope to do it again!

When we arrived Alessandro (Alex) was at the boat to greet us. He helped with our bags and showed us around the boat “YOTA”. YOTA is a BEAUTIFUL 45’ Sailboat. You can tell from the way Alex talks about YOTA that she has been his baby for a long time. The boat is very well taken care of with unique art from around the world and some local Caribbean touches too! The cabin is gorgeous, floor to ceiling wood with a very open galley/living space. The Bedrooms (4 total) are cozy and comfortable with room to stand. There is no A/C (obviously, it’s a sailboat!) but the constant breezes from the Caribbean Sea kept the temperature very comfortable even in the cabin in the afternoon. YOTA is parked at the Rodney bay marina. A beautiful marina equipped with clean showers, bathrooms (The marina does not allow you to use the bathrooms/showers on the boat while it is parked in the marina, for obvious reasons), laundry facilities, gift shops, grocery store, at least 4 restaurants, there is even a pool where they hold yoga classes 3 times a week! If you are even the slightest bit adventurous we HIGHLY recommend this experience! You do have to walk down the dock to use the facilities, so if you are high maintenance, or need extra privacy, this experience might not be for you. Alex (Capitan) was kind and funny and gave us many recommendations for places to eat and fun things to do around town. He even met my husband and I in Gross islet for the Friday night block party and showed us around to his favorite bars and local eateries. He offered us rides when walking was too far. We became into stant friends! On the second day of our trip Alex met us at the boat in the morning and took us out for the full day sailing trip. It was absolutely incredible and I highly recommend it to anyone staying on the boat! We sailed south down the beautiful Western coast of St. Lucia stopping at small bays of local fishing villages, he shared history and details fo all the different places we stopped. He made us a beautiful, homemade, seafood pasta for lunch with roots from his hometown in Italy. He also provided us with a jug of the most delicious homemade rum punch I’ve had the whole time I’ve been in st. Lucia (he actually took the time to grate whole nutmeg into the punch!) we had a BLAST with him out on YOTA. So much so, that we are planning an extended charter with him next winter. Thank you Alex and YOTA for this beautiful experience!!
