Our five-night stay at the RoundHat Cottage was beyond our expectations. The description and photos are accurate, though photos cannot capture the utter beauty and serenity this cottage has to offer. After spending our days exploring the parks at Yosemite, King’s Canyon and Sequoia, coming “home” was just as restorative, especially with sweet donkeys and beautiful sunsets (don’t miss the sunset from the deck at “Rocky Top”). Steve and Gayle were wonderful hosts. Everything we needed was in the cottage, so we cooked a lot of meals and took a lot of outdoor showers :) We highly recommend and would love to return! - Paul & Tom

Susan and Brian were very hospitable and responsive. This location is so quiet, peaceful, and quaint. A lovely evening retreat after long hiking days! We really enjoyed the grill and hot tub. Drive into Yosemite is 1hr 20 mins but is a lovely route and goes by fast. Hiked Hites Cove, which is only about 40 mins away on our first day. Easy access to Mariposa. Highly recommend the Cozy Cottage Retreat!

This home in Foresta was perfect for our 3-night stay in Yosemite. The home is located inside the park so we didn’t have the long drive in and out each day. It’s fully stocked for everything we needed to grill in the evenings and enjoy coffee in the mornings. The beds and sheets were extremely comfortable, the house was spotless and the views were gorgeous. I spend a lot of time reviewing possible rentals on VRBO by reading comments and checking locations and I highly recommend this home. Tip – Yosemite does have a small grocery inside the park (The Village Store) which was nicely stocked, however, a little pricey. We picked up basics on our first night there then headed into Mariposa the morning of day 2 for our picnic & dinner supplies. Thank you Lynda for sharing your beautiful home to make Yosemite even more enjoyable.

This property was perfect for our visit to Yosemite since we wanted to stay inside the park. Everything we needed to grill out and cook meals was provided. Beds were comfortable. Kids had space to play. I would stay here again.

This is a beautiful house, tucked away in a community in the woods in Yosemite West. Views through the gorgeous windows are all forest. Great location near the road to Glacier Point, which is still closed in April. Close to tunnel view and about 20-30 min drive to Yosemite Valley. Caution that the drive to the valley is a very winding, narrow road with a drop off on one side. One night was very foggy coming back from dinner at the Ahwahnee so I wouldn't recommend cocktails out. My only issue with the house is that they provide very little. There is toilet paper, hand and dish soap, salt and pepper. We were lucky and there was some leftover coffee filters. For a house of this quality (and cost) it would be nice to at least have body soap for shower, maybe let people leave some cooking oil? Also, I'm happy to clean up, but asking people to squeegee the shower when there is a significant cleaning fee is beyond a guest responsibility. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay.

Our family of nine stayed here for five nights in October. It was the perfect place as the grandkids enjoyed swimming in the pool as well as the puzzles and books available in the library/bedroom. We also had a little time to play billiards. The location was great as the drive to Yosemite Valley was generally about 90 minutes, with some of the other places we hiked or fished within a 2-hour time frame. Susan was wonderful with communicating with us and giving us recommendations of sights to see in Yosemite. The photos are accurate as to the beautiful views and great outside area to enjoy! We would definitely stay here again if we decide to visit this area.

Pros: Cabin was clean, very quiet, and very comfortable. Conveniently located near Yosemite valley, but nice to see the crowds in the rear view mirror at the end of the day. This property is worth it's weight in gold. Cons: None Just for travelers information: Verizon works very well at this property. An Ookla speed test showed 80 megabits down and 4 megabits up, with a strong reliable signal.
