  • Everything was great

"The spacious condo was exactly as owner Cilla described. It's in a gated, private area that's quite safe. It's also an easy stroll to the beach and to the marina. The condo units are between monster resorts, Playa Grande and Grand Solmar, but there wasn't much noise coming from either location. There also was very little human presence on the clean, attractive beach, maybe because it's on the Pacific side and not suitable for swimming. It was suitable for strolling, which we did every day. Cilla was very responsive to my inquiries and the rental pricing was good, especially since she did not add tax or cleaning fees or deposit or other misc fees. Parking there is $5/day. I do recommend a car rental (now about $3 per day...but insurance is about $40/day). I also recommend traveling to Todos Santos and dining at a side cafe, and from there driving north and west to the enormous beaches that are virtually deserted!! There are also a number of terrific, must-see beaches in the corridor between Cabo and San Jose. Consider driving to Tobasco Beach (ask Google Maps), parking in the sand lot for 20 pesos, and enjoying massages ($30 for 70 min) and renting a kayak for an easy ride to Lover's Beach and then walking to Divorce Beach. Remember that everything's negotiable with Nacho and his crew, especially if you do package deals (like both massage and kayak rental). Be sure to eat at the local Tobasco cafe, where you'll enjoy large servings of very fresh food that is very low priced, compared to the big adjacent hotels. It's also a good place for watching all the goofy Americans with very red skin. We had a great vacation, and appreciate all of Cilla's help. Yeah, we're coming back."

  • Nice condo...location,location,location

"First of all we would like to thank you Nancy and Pete for allowing us to stay in your condo we had a fabulous time and was a pleasure to meet the both of you.My wife and I stayed there for 5 weeks which included Christmas and New Years, the unit is very clean and spacious for two people. If you want to be right in the middle of all the action this is the place to be,you are walking distance to everything you need. The balcony over looks the Malecon in the marina,we spent many hours their people watching. The unit is very well equipped with all your needs met. From beach chairs and umbrella to everything you will need to fulfill your cooking needs. The only small complaint I have is that we couldn't sleep with the patio doors open as we like the fresh air due to the noise from across the marina from all the nightclubs. If I had of brought earplugs then it would of been doable. But with the doors closed you do not hear any of the noise.Once again Nancy Abby and I thank you and Pete and it sure was nice to meet your mom as well, pretty spry for 97 years young. If you guys are ever up in Canada in our neck of the woods please drop us a line we would love to get together,we look forward to returning to Cabo and would love to stay in your condo again. Cheers Steve and Abby"

  • WOW! Truly a 5-star experience - Part III

"For Walmart, and town – just walk right outside the resort. There are local buses every 10 minutes or so…. 3 lines, but each of them go to Walmart first and then to town before they do their full 1.5 hour loops. My 3 year old and I did the full loop once for fun. VERY bouncy so not for the queasy – and you need to be pretty adventurous because you go way out to the rural poor areas – but if you really want to see some non-tourist parts of Mexico, it’s an experience. You’ll need to take a taxi back/stand is right outside Walmart (or walk back from town which we did a few times --- just walk right by McDonald’s – yes you can never get too far away from “America” in tourist-Mexico! Fair is 12 pesos – or you pay with a $1 bill. Yes it bounces like crazy --- but it’s a 5 minute adventure. Walmart has EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. Stock up and enjoy. They also sell Wine and Alcohol. There is a huge spirits store in the same complex – think “BevMo” with lots of selection --- and a nice food court with about 8 restaurants. We ate there a few times as part of our shopping – pretty much the best deal we found and delicious! We even came back to the Sushi restaurant (Koi Sushi) – which was recommended – and VERY good actually with really good prices too! You can walk into town and the Marina – along the road --- or the beach – but’s it a pretty good distance. Bus (see above) or taxi is better option. Also outside the property is an amazing bakery with cinnamon rolls. You’ll find another kiosk from this bakery just outside Walmart (pretzel rolls, etc.) but for the cinnamon, you have to go the main one. The Marina has high end shopping, lots of U.S. chain restaurants and shops like Haagen Daas, etc. and lots of great Mexican food. If you want to have fish therapy/fish pedicure, do it at the Paradiso Mall in the center court – it’s half the price of the Villa del Arco spa – but DO go into that spa and check it out --- wow – it’s supposedly the largest in Latin America and is just beautiful. Treatments are overpriced, but when in Rome…. When in town, go over and watch the cruise ships arrive and all the day tour operators jocky for business. Cacophony of craziness! Book a sport fishing charter, Scuba (or SNUBA which we did with my 7 year old who loved it) or Sea Trek which will be back operating soon/the area on the sea floor needed time for sand to rebuild after the Hurricane), swim with dolphins, ..."
