  • Everything was great

"The spacious condo was exactly as owner Cilla described. It's in a gated, private area that's quite safe. It's also an easy stroll to the beach and to the marina. The condo units are between monster resorts, Playa Grande and Grand Solmar, but there wasn't much noise coming from either location. There also was very little human presence on the clean, attractive beach, maybe because it's on the Pacific side and not suitable for swimming. It was suitable for strolling, which we did every day. Cilla was very responsive to my inquiries and the rental pricing was good, especially since she did not add tax or cleaning fees or deposit or other misc fees. Parking there is $5/day. I do recommend a car rental (now about $3 per day...but insurance is about $40/day). I also recommend traveling to Todos Santos and dining at a side cafe, and from there driving north and west to the enormous beaches that are virtually deserted!! There are also a number of terrific, must-see beaches in the corridor between Cabo and San Jose. Consider driving to Tobasco Beach (ask Google Maps), parking in the sand lot for 20 pesos, and enjoying massages ($30 for 70 min) and renting a kayak for an easy ride to Lover's Beach and then walking to Divorce Beach. Remember that everything's negotiable with Nacho and his crew, especially if you do package deals (like both massage and kayak rental). Be sure to eat at the local Tobasco cafe, where you'll enjoy large servings of very fresh food that is very low priced, compared to the big adjacent hotels. It's also a good place for watching all the goofy Americans with very red skin. We had a great vacation, and appreciate all of Cilla's help. Yeah, we're coming back."

  • Amazing villa, incredible staff

"We booked this villa with a group of 19 to celebrate my 40th birthday. While the pictures look amazing, they truly do not do the property justice. It is even better in person. Transfer from the airport is simple. Check in at the Pedregal gate gave me comfort knowing they have some control on who comes in and out of the area. The villa itself is perfectly situated on a small cliff, offering incredible views and privacy. The layout of the villa is perfect for large groups. All of the bedrooms were comfortable and private, there wasn't a bad room in the place. We split our time between the upstairs kitchen/balcony area and down by the pool. There is plenty of space to relax and spread out. I underestimated how attentive and wonderful the staff would be. They had plenty of people on hand to unload our luggage and groceries. We had 2 dinners and breakfasts prepared for us, all of which were delicious. We booked the butler for Thursday and Friday, and we liked him so much, we asked him to come back for the entire day Saturday. The staff went and picked additional water and beer when we ran out. We loved our trip so much, we are making plans to come back again. This time around, I will ask the staff to pick up the groceries for us ahead of time, there is no need to stop at Walmart or Costco. Other than that, I don't plan on changing a thing. Villa de Roca is a slice of heaven, and we can't wait to return!"

  • Nice Home, A Few Minor Hiccups

"Home was well maintained, clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Our comments as a group: Great location in the corridor. Close to town, Costco, Home Depot and public beaches. The Restaurant Viejo next door is Top Shelf. We had dinner there twice and if you catch the Cuban night there is great dancing to boot. Views on rooftop bar are spectacular. The home is in a gated community, but take note you will have to leave some identification at the gate coming in. We really enjoyed the bar downstairs and hot tub and pool area. Also the SONOS sound system was perfect for us as I have the same set up at home and I was able to download the bluetooth and rock. WiFi and DISH Network worked great, and local calls to the US were no charge. Home was equipped with boogey boards and we added a cooler for the beach trips. We did suggest that there be a map of the beach below us. It was difficult to find but nice place to snorkel and kid friendly. The houses down towards the beach are very nice. Christina is up above that a little and there are a couple houses that seem dark and uninhabited close by. There was also a dog that barked in the middle of the night right next to us twice, and many dogs that barked in the morning as people got up and let them out, especially Saturday. One home improvement would be a staircase from the upstairs kitchen to the lower pool area. You must walk to the back of the home to find stairs that take you lower. The pictures also suggested a roof top sunning area, but it is really located outside the upper floor. Maybe we got confused. All told, Mexico is great to visit and the people are more than happy to make sure you have a great time. Cabo is growing but it is still easy to get into great restaurants or bars on the beach. If you haven't been to Mexico, Cabo is a great place to start."

  • SUPER AMAZING PLACE!!!

"Our family was very comfortable and had a wonderful weeks stay in the condo! The unit was spacious and had everything our family needed including wifi, washer/dryer, A/C, beach supplies and a well supplied kitchen. My kids appreciated the new TV in the family room with Netflix. The views from the large deck were amazing! Casa Del Mar is a beautiful resort and great for families but not too "crazy crowded" like some other resorts in the Cabo area. The large main pool with swim up bar was a hit with our family and the beautiful beach area (with great padded lounge chairs and cabanas) is right there too. Grounds at Casa Del Mar are very well maintained including the 2 tennis courts. Service overall by Case Del Mar staff was great, and it was helpful to have the hotel concierge and restaurants available to condo guests. We had a wonderful stay and hope to comeback again!"
