  • WOW! Truly a 5-star experience - Part III

"For Walmart, and town – just walk right outside the resort. There are local buses every 10 minutes or so…. 3 lines, but each of them go to Walmart first and then to town before they do their full 1.5 hour loops. My 3 year old and I did the full loop once for fun. VERY bouncy so not for the queasy – and you need to be pretty adventurous because you go way out to the rural poor areas – but if you really want to see some non-tourist parts of Mexico, it’s an experience. You’ll need to take a taxi back/stand is right outside Walmart (or walk back from town which we did a few times --- just walk right by McDonald’s – yes you can never get too far away from “America” in tourist-Mexico! Fair is 12 pesos – or you pay with a $1 bill. Yes it bounces like crazy --- but it’s a 5 minute adventure. Walmart has EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. Stock up and enjoy. They also sell Wine and Alcohol. There is a huge spirits store in the same complex – think “BevMo” with lots of selection --- and a nice food court with about 8 restaurants. We ate there a few times as part of our shopping – pretty much the best deal we found and delicious! We even came back to the Sushi restaurant (Koi Sushi) – which was recommended – and VERY good actually with really good prices too! You can walk into town and the Marina – along the road --- or the beach – but’s it a pretty good distance. Bus (see above) or taxi is better option. Also outside the property is an amazing bakery with cinnamon rolls. You’ll find another kiosk from this bakery just outside Walmart (pretzel rolls, etc.) but for the cinnamon, you have to go the main one. The Marina has high end shopping, lots of U.S. chain restaurants and shops like Haagen Daas, etc. and lots of great Mexican food. If you want to have fish therapy/fish pedicure, do it at the Paradiso Mall in the center court – it’s half the price of the Villa del Arco spa – but DO go into that spa and check it out --- wow – it’s supposedly the largest in Latin America and is just beautiful. Treatments are overpriced, but when in Rome…. When in town, go over and watch the cruise ships arrive and all the day tour operators jocky for business. Cacophony of craziness! Book a sport fishing charter, Scuba (or SNUBA which we did with my 7 year old who loved it) or Sea Trek which will be back operating soon/the area on the sea floor needed time for sand to rebuild after the Hurricane), swim with dolphins, ..."

  • Exceeded expectations for first trip to Cabo

"Great experience from initial contact through check out. Property is beautiful, spacious and well kept: Feels like home. View and location is fantastic, with easy access to pool, beach, town center, and Costco and Walmart. Villa staff are pleasant and accommodating, although there is a sales pitch for their next door time share that you can't seem to avoid. Curt was very responsive and very helpful. Can't recommend this place highly enough for your trip to Cabo."

  • Awesome Location!

"Wow! My wife, my 3 teenage daughters, and I cannot stop talking about this condo. What a location! You open the door to the condo and bam...there is that view. It is nothing short of stunning. It's just like the pictures. No zoom lens shot to get that view. The condo was a perfect fit for us. The place was very upscale, without being pretentious. Very comfortable, with a classic feel of Old Mexico. The unit had everything we needed...beach chairs, umbrella, etc. There is a grocery store (HUGE) just a 10 minute drive away with anything you may not find in the unit. The Casa Del Mar facilities were very relaxing, the staff there was VERY attentive. They made us feel more like family, than tourists. There are multiple pools to lounge around in, a restaurant, and of course the beach. Every night my entire family would actually put our iPhones down, sit on the patio for hours, just listening to the waves crash against the sand while the moon rise would rise over the Sea of Cortez. No words or pictures can describe how beautiful it was. You really don't need to ever leave the property. We chose to rent a car though so we could explore. Driving around was not an issue. The owner supplied a list of restaurants around town that were "spot on" for my girls. The public beach (Playa Santa Maria) we went to was NOTHING like anything I've seen in The States. Brand new bathrooms, showers, SUPER helpful lifeguards, and they raked the sand every day. It looked like a high end resort! If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet, getaway with a view...this is it. Just stop looking, and book this place before I do. It's been a few weeks since we left Casa Del Mar, and my girls will still text me pictures from our trip. Just little reminders. I guess they want to go back. I do too. :-)"

  • Life styles of the rich and famous!

"What a great house and property! Fantastic ocean views. We spent 5 days at the villa with 7 couples for two 50th birthdays, each couple had their own ocean view suite. The large square footage of the villa and the separated suites in different buildings on the property gave each couple a quiet, personal space but yet just footsteps away from the central entertainment area and pool. The house manager and his wife (who was also the chef) did an amazing job and were very accommodating. We hired the bartender for 3 of the afternoon/nights during our stay and basically didn't have to lift a finger! Their rates were very reasonable. I was able to plan each day's menu with the chef and gave them a grocery list for food and alcohol to keep the house stocked to make our own breakfasts and lunches when we wanted to. Easy access to downtown Cabo and Pedregal. The house manager recommended a car service that we used to shuttle us around whenever we needed him. Massages can be set up at the house or booked at Pedregal spa just down the hill. I would definitely recommend to the most discerning of people and plan to re-book in the future!"
