  • Couldn't Have Asked For Better

"We were so fortunate to have found Casa Tortuga for our trip to Mexico to celebrate my daughter's 21st Birthday. The house was well stocked, adorably decorated and in great repair. With two master suites, one upstairs and one downstairs plus lots of extra space to spread out, we were positive that we were unlikely to have booked a better spot for our long weekend celebration. With close proximity to several shops, Walmart and restaurants, it was easy to plan for many meals at home. The patio and outdoor grill made hanging by the pool a delight. While the house advertises room for 10, I think a group of six adults and maybe some kids would fit nicely in this home. Cab rides to downtown were about $20 USD for four of us, and the staff and the front gate were always very helpful assisting us with getting rides where we needed to go. We will definitely be back!"

  • Wonderful place to stay

"We've been coming to San Jose for 9 years and have stayed at Las Mananitas for 5 years. It's perfect for families or anyone who wants a relaxing, peaceful vacation. Rich, the owner was wonderful to work with. Booking with him was super easy and he was kind enough to check in on us a few days into our trip to make sure we had everything we needed. You won't be disappointed staying here. The condo is well appointed and the kitchen has recently been updated. The location is great. We love staying in Phase 1 because it's closest to the beach and the pool is right out front. There is a Mega grocery store about 2 blocks away that has literally anything you want or forgot to pack. We shop there for our groceries(bakery is really good) and found that there are plenty of cabs out front if you need to haul back a big grocery run. Las Mananitas provides little wagons at the entrances of each phase so it makes it easy to unload groceries from the taxi vans and then use the wagons to get the groceries to your unit. (note: you can't take the wagons to the Mega, they are just to haul on the grounds). Our friends stayed at hotels a few properties away and they were very impressed with Las Mananitas. No loud pool electronic music blaring from 10a-10p or fighting over beach chairs at 7am. This is definitely the way to go. There are several restaurants close if you don't want to cook every meal. CJ's Deli and Cynthia Fresh are both wonderful and next door. Across from the Barcelo there are more restaurants & shopping. You can taxi in to town for more options and there is also the Urbano (aka Peso bus) that will take you into town for next to nothing. It picks up right in front of LM. There are usually taxis waiting at the Hyatt Place across the street too. Art Walk is on Thursday evenings and shouldn't be missed. Super fun. Foodies should absolutely consider a reservation at Flora's Field Kitchen. It's farm-to-table and organic and the ambiance is incredible. Their menu is online and you can make reservations online too. They are always booked and it is advisable to make a reservation online before your trip. The cab ride can be in the $30-40 range so don’t head up without a reservation. Tuesday nights they have a Fried Chicken option and it's unbelievable. We’ve been there 4 different vacations and it never fails to impress us. Las Mananitas is beautiful, safe & relaxing. I can’t say enough great things. You will love it here. We'll be back!"

  • Gorgeous retreat away from it all

"Sol Pacifico Cerritos is nothing short of amazing. The grounds are very well kept and the staff works hard to make sure everything looks great and is working for you... So much in fact that after a big rainstorm one day some staff was out squeegeing the tennis courts immediately after the rain had stopped. The gym was very nice, although we didn't workout at all as it was very hot in there as they only have AC wall units that didn't keep it very cool. There is a also a playground over by the gym which is a nice surprise. The pool is one of the best pools we've ever seen... even better than some of the nicest resorts we've been to. It's great for kids of all ages as it has deep parts and beach entry areas. We spent most of our time in the pool and when we weren't in the pool our kids could play in the shallow parts of the ocean which was awesome. We were here in hurricane season and for two days didn't see another guest. We pretty much had this whole place all to ourselves. The food and drinks on property are good but kinda pricey ( except the beer is $1) So I wouldn't suggest buying food before you get into town cause there isn't a real store to get food at. Otherwise pescadero and todos Santos had some great places to eat. The only complaint is the Internet didn't work for the first 24 hrs we were here. We were lucky though cause I think it had been out for about a week before that. Other than that this stay has been amazing and we can't wait to come back."

  • A treasured gem!

"Where to begin? Lynn greeted us with homemade mango jam from the trees on the property. She graciously showed us around and made us feel right at home. Randy and Lynn have a gem of a place and what a ideal location! We had the use of bicycles and snorkeling gear. The pool is refreshingly delightful and the Sea of Cortez is just a stones throw away. Our unit was perfect, it was clean, the kitchen well stocked and we had use of wifi. We even had our own gas barbecue, which we regularly used. When not eating at one of the fabulous restaurants that our host recommended, we ate our meals on our private, covered patio. Even enjoyed a nap in the hammock. Beatriz took good care of us, cleaned our unit, even did our laundry! Randy set up with a fantastic guide who took us fishing, snorkeling and he suggested that our guide drop us off for lunch at the remote, exquisite, La Picazon. What a day that was! My husband and I can't say enough about our stay at the Hamman's rental. The town of Loreto is lovely, scenic, tranquil and the people are warm and friendly. Our only regret is that our stay was just one week. We WILL be back and next time extend our stay. We thank Randy & Lynn for their gracious hospitality. Perfection! Barbie & Terry"
