  • Slice of Heaven in Mexico

"We just returned from a fantastic trip to Sol Pacifico near Todos Santos, Mexico. I won't go into exhaustive details here but if you are looking for something not in the heart of the action in Cabo that is in a luxury setting on the beach with an amazing pool and gym, Sol Pacifico can't be beat. The condos are gorgeous and on par with a luxury apartment / condo in the U.S., with a gourmet kitchen (coffee maker, dishwasher, garbage disposal, trash compactor, oven), washer / dryer, good AC and beautiful bathrooms. The condo we stayed in was as nice if not nicer than most 5 star resorts we've been to, including the Ritz Carlton. I have forgotten how nice it is to be able to make some meals. Since we usually stay at resorts I typically go out every day for coffee and all meals, which quickly adds up for a week or longer trip. I stocked up on food in Walmart before I arrived to Sol Pacifico and really enjoyed cooking myself Mexican style breakfasts each day and making my own coffee. I saved a lot of money and I really enjoyed cooking because I don't do it often. The condo we stayed in had a front and center view of both the incredible Infinity pool and the beach. Again, among the best ocean views I have seen that topped some rooms that go for $700 a night in resorts. We also enjoyed hanging out on the back porch at times which offered a more private surrounding to enjoy the stunning ocean view (perfect for that morning coffee time). The owner and staff are fantastic. From Valentine to the owner Tony, to all the friendly staff we had absolutely no complaints. We were given treats without asking while we lounged by the pool (wonderful fresh vegetables with chili and olive oil, tequila) and if you choose to drink some of the beers or drinks they have by the pool it is a very reasonable $1 each (again we marveled how resorts would charge $7 each). All the staff had warm smiles on their faces at all times and I have never seen a staff go to such lengths to keep everything spotless and clean all over the place. The Infinity pool was simply amazing. It seems to span half the length of a football field in length. It is HUGE. There is a swim up bar (you'd have to server yourself since it isn't staffed) under the shade, but the rest of the pool is exposed in the sun, so be sure to wear sunscreen if you visit it. The sun will quickly burn skin that isn't used to that UV factor. The pool is not only huge but totally stunning in its beauty."

  • A little piece of heaven on earth. A true gem of a property.

"I am a beach spirit. I grew up on the coast in heat and humidity. If your vacation preference is Hyatt, factor outside temperatures into your plans. I love sleeping with windows open and I got to do that every night. With daytime highs at 90, getting to sleep was hot but every night ended up under a blanket. Some rooms do have AC if that is important to you. We rented the Sunset Suite. Surrounded by windows, the room is a fishbowl with beautiful views in every direction. As beautiful as the sunsets were, I was more intrigued by the sunrise...every morning. The bed faces the mountain range and this time of year the sun comes up at a perfect angle as to not shine right in your face. The flowering landscape of the property only adds to the view. The large, very private balcony looks north up the beach. I enjoyed watching the locals, primarily surfers, walk the trail adjacent to the property to check out morning surf conditions at San Pedrito beach. Expect a bed & breakfast without breakfast. There are relative few choices for breakfast so a stop in Cabo for groceries might benefit you (water bottles & beer!!). Otherwise our favorite breakfast spots were Alama & Manny's in Todas and Baja Beans (think Starbucks) in Pescadero. A Sunday morning market adds a little flavor. Some units have a kitchen but there is also a community kitchen. Nightlife will be primarily dependent on the personality of other guests or people you meet out. This is a rural community and some nights we were literally lights out at 8:30pm. The sky is pitch black with more stars than many have ever seen. Dr. Robert is unlike any VRBO/Airbnb host I have ever experienced. He likes having guests and is totally accommodating. We got a taste of local life by going into town and out to eat with him on several occasions. That's the way we prefer to travel, off the beaten tourist path. Research things to do before you travel. We were the only guests so we didn't have many people to play with. We explored other area beaches, spent time in Todas, drove to Balandra Bay for a day, and made friends with the bartenders (Oscar & Axel) at Cerritos Surf & Beach Club. Having felt like we saw it all, we enjoyed just spending the last two days on the property. I have experienced many beaches but never seen so few people, or no people, as on these beaches. This place is essence of beach. I didn't wear half the clothes I brought and most days never changed out a bathing suit. Recharge your soul."

  • Best choice ever

"Julie is the best hostess ever, her house and rooms for rent are a magical place to land...Everything you think you might need is There! From surf wax in your soap dish,(seriously )to candles, very other place we stayed parallels her attention to detail, her love of the land and complete knowledge of who she is and her ability to open her home to others...Do not recommend this for people with handicaps. The road is crunchy, but worth it..Plan your trip as not to arrive past dark..."

  • Gorgeous retreat away from it all

"Sol Pacifico Cerritos is nothing short of amazing. The grounds are very well kept and the staff works hard to make sure everything looks great and is working for you... So much in fact that after a big rainstorm one day some staff was out squeegeing the tennis courts immediately after the rain had stopped. The gym was very nice, although we didn't workout at all as it was very hot in there as they only have AC wall units that didn't keep it very cool. There is a also a playground over by the gym which is a nice surprise. The pool is one of the best pools we've ever seen... even better than some of the nicest resorts we've been to. It's great for kids of all ages as it has deep parts and beach entry areas. We spent most of our time in the pool and when we weren't in the pool our kids could play in the shallow parts of the ocean which was awesome. We were here in hurricane season and for two days didn't see another guest. We pretty much had this whole place all to ourselves. The food and drinks on property are good but kinda pricey ( except the beer is $1) So I wouldn't suggest buying food before you get into town cause there isn't a real store to get food at. Otherwise pescadero and todos Santos had some great places to eat. The only complaint is the Internet didn't work for the first 24 hrs we were here. We were lucky though cause I think it had been out for about a week before that. Other than that this stay has been amazing and we can't wait to come back."
