  • Marvelous House on the Beach

"Great stay over Christmas. LeeAnn was terrifically responsive by e-mail and phone. She also sent a nice packet of materials to help find our way up from SJD. The photos on the website reveal a very attractive house, well situated right on Cerritos Beach. They show exactly what you can expect. Two large bedrooms with sliding glass doors and a huge slider in the living room. We had them open all day – no issues with bugs. The shaded front porch faces the ocean – perfect for watching the breaching whales! We listened to the surf pound at night. The kitchen is fine, though we didn’t really do any cooking. Critically, there is a small coffee pot and filters. I brought coffee with me and enjoyed early cups on the front porch every morning. Lighting was good for reading at night and Wi-Fi worked fine for our needs. Judging by the lack of significant security around the homes in the area, safety doesn’t seem to be a problem. The house comes well equipped - really everything you could need for the beach. Boogie & surf boards, etc. I liked the location quite a bit. You can get gringo priced food and drinks right on the water at the north end of the beach. There is a sand parking lot used by locals just to the north of the casa. It was reasonably well used over the holidays, but not an issue. It is a very big beach and most of the activity is on the north end. Just to the south is a new architecturally challenged development, maybe 6-8 units that looks like it still has some work to do. A little further south is a very large and still growing condo complex. Neither had much activity – even over Christmas. Beyond that the beach is pretty empty. I ran every day. The beach was a little soft and slanted the further south I went. So, I headed north and ran over the headland to San Pedrito Beach. Beautiful. Todos Santos & El Pescadero have nice restaurants. Don’t miss lunch or dinner at FreeSouls down at Cerritos. Not Mexican really, but outstanding. LeeAnn’s recommendations for restaurants were good. Do drive to La Paz to snorkel with the whale sharks – very cool and highly recommended. Great stay - thanks for the hospitality!"

  • Best choice ever

"Julie is the best hostess ever, her house and rooms for rent are a magical place to land...Everything you think you might need is There! From surf wax in your soap dish,(seriously )to candles, very romantic..no other place we stayed parallels her attention to detail, her love of the land and complete knowledge of who she is and her ability to open her home to others...Do not recommend this for people with handicaps. The road is crunchy, but worth it..Plan your trip as not to arrive past dark..."

  • This Villa Has it All!

"I stayed at the Pescadero Palace from Sept. 2-12, with my family, and we had a great time! I usually don’t write reviews, but after staying, or touring, almost every other beach house in the area over the past few years, it was nice to finally find a clean, fun, and well maintained Villa. My boys like to surf, and you can’t get any closer to the waves, just walk out front. My little girl and I liked the pool and Jacuzzi, and my husband went surf fishing right off the beach in front of the Villa. We can’t wait to come back this winter, thank you!"

  • The perfect place

"Planning a retreat at Casa Geneva was the perfect plan after a long winter and work burnout. Tony and Janelle are very welcoming and great temporary neighbours to have. The house is very well built and kept up, very comfortable and beautiful. We loved being able to walk to the beach and sit and watch the sunset on the rooftop patio. The kitchen was very good for cooking after we went into town and visited the local food merchants. Bed was comfy, everything was clean, absolutely no disappointment. Todos Santos is a very welcoming town and good if you like to stroll around and don't want anything chaotic or pretentious. All of the people were very kind. Take time to see the local art and get some of the history of the town. We'd also recommend taking in the local beaches. Janelle has taken time to write up a good list of recommendations for food and activities. Tony and Janelle are obviously kind to the locals because if you tell them that you know Papa Tony they always smile and are happy to hear it. Anyone who loves flowers and gardens should take in Janelle's beautiful work. We would definitely return in the future."
