  • Charming, quiet, wonderful location

"We just returned from a week at Casita Pelicano where we had a relaxing, wonderful time. The hosts provided virtually any amenity one could think of for a vacation rental, from travel brochures on the coffee table, to beach chairs and towels, to a very large, fully-equipped kitchen that had basic condiments, coffee, fruit, and cold bottles of water waiting in the fridge when we arrived. Linda and Richard were extremely gracious hosts -- and a lot of fun! We felt like we could ask for anything that we would need. Having Dish Satellite TV was great. And lots of good books to choose from! Loved the beach which was an easy walk and a nice view from the patio. It's a 3+ mile drive south of Los Barriles, so you need a car, but it's an easy drive and nice to get away to this very quiet spot. A number of good restaurants in Los Barriles. We also explored some of the small towns in the area -- very interesting. Would definitely recommend and, if we return to Los Barriles area, we would stay at Casita Pelicano again. again."

  • Wonderful getaway for family and friends, off the beaten path and far from tourist enclaves

"My family of 3 generations spent the last week of the year at the Red House: grandchildren 5 and 7; their parents; grandparents in their 70s. The accommodations were spacious, comfortable, and lovely, and everything is clean and well maintained. The kids practically lived in the pool. The house had all the necessary amenities, the kitchen was well equipped, furniture was attractive and comfortable, and there is really good art everywhere. The house looks just as the pictures show: beautiful architecture, spectacular views from every room, lovely patios and terraces, and a palapa bar. We had the huge beach practically to ourselves and the occasional pelican, frigate bird, and seagull. Calm turquoise waters with good snorkeling though there are rocky patches as you enter the water which we had to learn to navigate. The beach is beautiful sand with some patches of pebbles. It's down a winding series of stone steps; we all navigated them easily but it might be a little more challenging for someone a bit shaky on their feet and definitely requires being able bodied. We went in winter so there were times when it was windy, but it was always sunny and warm, the water temperature was perfect for swimming, and the night skies were spectacular. You must have a car and need to be prepared to drive on some rough unpaved roads to get anywhere, and it's best to either arrange for catered meals and/or stock up on food before you arrive as you won't want to have to drive every day to restaurants or shopping even though they're not that far away. The location is not isolated but it is somewhat remote so it's nice to be as self-sufficient as possible. Rosa was always available via email for questions, and was very delightful, friendly, and responsive. She has a friend nearby who manages the property and was incredibly helpful and welcoming. There's a hotel 1 1/2 km away that has a restaurant, and some small towns beyond it that also have small groceries and restaurants. Los Barriles is about a 20 minute drive, on a rough and only partly paved road, and has a supermarket, lots of restaurants, a fresh tortilla place, and a stand that sells good local fish and shellfish. Best place for groceries is San Jose del Cabo or, I'm sure, La Paz, though we didn't go there. We loved our stay."

  • Perfect home for family relaxation!

"From the moment we connected with Bruce, we knew our stay at Casa Rincon was going to be fantastic. It did not disappoint! We combined a 50th birthday celebration with Thanksgiving for 19 of our family members ranging in age from 18 months to 71 years. Each and every one of us had a relaxing, fun adventure! There was something for each us to do but honestly, most of us just wanted to relax and enjoy family time on the beach and in the pool. Bruce made sure we were well taken care of from the moment we stepped off the plane. Manuel and LuLu then took care of every need we had while at the property. The rooms are spacious, CLEAN and offer gorgeous views of the beach. The setup of the house is such that the bedrooms are apart from the dining/entertainment area so that a group can go to sleep and not be disturbed by late night game playing and chatting! The fact that you have your very own private beach just steps away from the gorgeous poolscape and tennis court means that everyone can spend their days however they choose. Lots of great gear available for your use like boogie boards, paddle boards and snorkeling equipment...Manuel even set us up with a fishing pole so we could try to catch dinner from the beach! Chuy took some on a guided hike up the mountain and gave great facts about the surrounding area! They built a huge, wonderful bonfire for us on the last evening and were there to accommodate every need. Everything you need to make wonderful memories for guests of all ages. We will be back!!"
