  • Casa rosa

"Just finished a wonderful month in baja. For 2 weeks we stayed at casa rosa in los barrilles. This is a second year in los barrilles. We love the town and now we have a place to stay that meets our needs. The layout of property, landscaping and layout of the house is great. We spend some time in the rockers just reading. You can choose sun or shade for your rocking chair and enjoy the sun and breeze. Some of the time our adult children were with us and then the layout of the house was a bonus. The two bedrooms downstairs are at different ends of the house so it helps with noise level especially if you have different sleep schedules. Each bedroom has its own bath. Our son was in the upstairs bedroom accessible from a pretty curving staircase outside. The upstairs bedroom had a nice patio where it was a good vantage point for the sunrise. There was enough space for us to be together in the living room or quiet space in the bedrooms. We have stayed in a number of rental vacation properties over the years and this kitchen was well stocked. We probably cooked about 70% of the time and dined out the rest of time. I was able to do a several course dinner party for some friends. We ordered from the fish fellow, marcus, I believe. The shrimp and grouper were very good. I appreciate having the phone number so we could be assured marcus would stop. Mr and mrs brisco provided a sheet with good details on the house and activities in the east cape. And you always need to keep the gate closed! Last year in a different house we saw the goats and cows every day. This year not so much until the last couple days. They would have a field day with all the landscaping. There is a full bookcase of books for you to choose your reading pleasure. Or you can watch movies on the L shaped sofa. A lot of thought and planning went into the development of this property. And it is near the beach. if you go during kite board season you can watch them from the beach. Lot's of sporting activities in los barrilles. My son did kite boarding and my daughter did mountain biking with vella. Both happy with vella. General consensus from all great place to stay and very good location."

  • Beautiful =)

"This home is beautiful! As some of the reviewers pointed out, the beach is amazing and when we were there we only saw maybe a couple people at a time on the beach. For the most part, you have the beach to yourself. The views are amazing, you can watch the stingrays jumping out of the ocean, and the first day we were here we saw a whale swim by. Unfortunately, even though this is in a turtle sanctuary, I never had the opportunity to see a turtle, found some empty turtle nests but no turtles. Hopefully I will get a chance next time! If you would like a place that is away from it all, where you can truly relax, this is the place. We were there during the construction, but because Teri notified us in advance we were prepared to not allow it to ruin our vacation and it didn't. Some days were fine and on the other days when it was more noisy we headed out for the day. They are usually wrapping up at 4:30 and then you have the rest of the evening to enjoy in silence =) Anyone who really loves the ocean will love this place, the views from inside the house are amazing and the courtyard is great to sit in if its too windy to sit on the porch facing the ocean. Didn't have any problems with bugs which was nice and the house is nicely stocked with extras. The kayaks were great as well. La Ribera is a great little town which feels more like Mexico than Los Barriles, and its not far away from Cabo Pulmo which is amazing. We would stay again! Our family loved it!"

  • Perfect location, peaceful and close to all

"This place has the best of everything a large resort would have, but on a much smaller and personal scale. We loved that it was oceanfront, but still used the private pools. We could walk to all the restaurants, but used the local one when we were not feeling adventurous. All good, friendly service. Pedro was very attentive and even lent us snorkel gear. I would love to bring friends and family here."

  • Great accommodations with an amazing location.

"My wife, my fishing buddy, and I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Danza over the Fourth of July weekend in 2016. We all loved our visit. Casa Danza is without question the nicest vacation home that I have ever stayed in. The location cannot be beat, with miles of an empty beautiful sandy beach that is literally located a step off the back patio. The upkeep of Casa Danza is immaculate, and the house is very well provisioned. Not once during our visit were we unable to locate something that we needed. We visited during the summer, and the daytime high temperatures were in the mid 90’s, but the close proximity to the ocean and the excellent air circulation within the house made our stay comfortable even during the peak temperatures, and the bedroom air conditioning proved to be very effective at night. My fishing buddy and I had a great time fishing. Surf casting and net fishing for baitfish from the beach is only steps away from the house. We caught several small tuna and a 15 pound barred pargo (which kept us well fed for most of our visit) while fishing from the kayaks. The sea was glassy calm, with no wind and no swell, which made the kayaking very easy and safe. In addition to the excellent fishing, we saw many jumping rays, dolphins, and a whale while kayaking directly offshore from Casa Danza. Based upon the excellent reviews provided by prior guests at Casa Danza, we had very high expectations for our visit, and our expectations were far exceeded. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting many beautiful places in the world, including all of the Hawaiian islands, the Costa Rican rainforest, and about 10 visits to a small dessert island in Fiji, and my visit to Casa Danza compared favorably to any of those locations (while being easily accessible), especially if you are looking to get away from the rat race, kick back, and enjoy the serenity and beauty that this location has to offer. We look forward to repeat visits in the future."
