  • Another great stay at Casa de las Palmas

"My family and friends (4 adults and 4 children under the age of 7) just had another wonderful trip at Casa de las Palmas. We particularly enjoyed the chef provided meals for lunch and dinner (slightly more cost, but completely worth it - - - world class food) as well as the attention to detail of the home for our needs (helped arrange fishing trip and also ATVs for us to tour the amazing country around the home, also found paddle boards for us to exercise and explore). Our kids loved the pool, and really enjoyed the collection of vintage Disney VHS tapes (they had never seen several of the shows, and the adults got nostalgic too -- great to have a way for kids to rest after so much fun in sun). We will certainly be back!"

  • Comfortable home in wonderful location

"We enjoyed our stay at Casa de Alhaja very much. It is a great house with a lovely view and perfect access to the beach. It is a peaceful place, secluded but not too isolated. It is clean and well stocked. Lots of pots and pans, cleaning supplies, towels etc. The manager, Debbie, lives right across the dirt road. She was informative, helpful, and meets you at the house to answer all questions and make suggestions. If you need anything, it is taken care of right away. Barb, the owner, was also available (prior to our trip) to answer our questions. We appreciated the slow pace, friendly people and delicious food. We loved Baja Beans, Hierbabuena (farm to table restaurant), and Taqueria Los Poblanos right in Pescadero. A highlight was the dog surfing competition at Cerritos Beach...what fun! We ate in Todos Santos at Hotel California and at "Restaurant & Gallery "(not sure of the real name). Both wonderful in different ways. We were delighted by the artisan boutiques, art galleries, and spent an afternoon with artist Nanette Hayles at her home in Todos Santos doing collages. Very cool! We traveled to La Paz & visited the new whale museum, and walked along the Malecon. It borders the stunning Sea of Cortez. From there, we drove to Balandra beach, a very unique landscape with warm, turquoise water, surrounded by the brown desert hills. We relished lots of downtime, too. It was a memorable and lovely vacation. We would recommend this type of house, setting, and vacation to people who like to be off the beaten path, who like a slower paced vacation, who are a bit adventurous and don't mind NOT HAVING the crowds, typical tourists amenities, and excitement of the bigger resort cities."

  • Property was exactly as described. Excellent room, enormois comfortable bed, 10 paces from the pool

"My first experience using Home & Away and I must say it was perfect. The owners are incredibly responsive and their agents, Arturo and Roberto in Mexico couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. They were also incredibly punctual with email communication which I really appreciated. Roberto met us on arrival, brought a new coffee machine and answered any questions we had, he made us feel extremely welcome. The room was spacious with everything we needed In the kitchen as well. Great fridge and freezer, nice flat TV, great bed, lovely private area to sit outside in the evenings and just a few steps and you jump into a lovely swimming pool (if you don't like swimming pools with too much chlorine you'll love this one). Only thing I would caution are the built in sofa beds, they are effectively single bed width, OK for kids but probably not ideal for adults who move in their sleep. The Bahia resort itself is very pleasant and clean, friendly and helpful staff, a great restaurant, particulay in the evenings, and a great location, just a 'stones throw' from the beautiful Medano beach and the Marina area. I would highly recommend this to anyone."

  • Perfect Get Away

"I highly recommend Casa Allen to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.  The flight from LAX, Los Angeles was easy and convenient.  The uniquely designed and painted home is located in a beautiful development five minutes from Loreto.   I enjoyed the numerous pathways that wind through the development surrounded by beautiful desert plants.   It was also nice to have a number of bars, eateries, a coffee shop, and the hotel all within a short, pleasant walk.  Casa Allen has a great family layout.  The courtyard greets you with a beautiful wall fountain and a number of bedrooms opening onto it.  Each room has its own decor with authentic Mexican hand painted tiles.  The linens are cool, crisp and clean.  The upstairs has a very large family room, kitchen, and spacious dining table for everyone to gather.   An upstairs large patio, which looks over the golf course and the mountains is a perfect place to eat, relax ,and watch the stunning sunsets. Though there was paddle boarding, snorkeling and boating available, my favorite time was spent in the small town of Loreto and walking along the Sea of Cortez. By far the highlight of the trip was traveling to the Pacific to see the Gray Whales who had just given birth to their babies.  Since my return to California I have not stopped talking about  Loreto.  I look forward to my return trip.   Cheers to Casa Allen!"
