  • Perfect getaway for the family

"We just returned from Coral Baja following a pre-back-to-school trip. The unit was clean, well-stocked, comfortable, and spacious. Ocean views from living room, master, and decks. The manager (Pat) was extremely responsive and the staff at the resort were friendly. The pool was nice, the restaurant on-site "Mama Mia" had the best guacamole and chips, and the grounds were well-maintained. Every morning we walked down the beach and surfed Zippers, then after breakfast went snorkeling at one of the calm bays (Palmilla, Bahia Santa Maria, and Chileno Bay) followed by late afternoon body-surfing in front. The waves get pretty crunchy so only go in if you're comfortable with that. The beach out front is raked every morning....we felt guilty putting footprints in the sand! If you go snorkeling, bring breadcrumbs and feed the fish - as soon as you let some bread pieces out, hundreds of fish surround you. We took cabs everywhere. The lobby staff have a list of the cab fares to each spot so there wasn't any hassling over rates with the drivers, who were courteous. The supermarket down the street is as good as any American market and had ATMs for cash pesos. We drank the tap water at Coral Baja and none of us had issues. Overall, it was great for all four of us and we look forward to returning."

  • Great Location

"Viva is gated community with on-site security. We chose it based on location. It's right on the beach with a fantastic view of the ocean and just a couple of blocks from the grocery store - honest!!! The bus stop is a 5 minute walk away and buses are every 5 minutes up to about 8:30pm. We saved a couple of hundred dollars on taxis over the course of the month. There is daily maintenance to the gardens, pool and barbeque areas. The condo is clean, cosy and equipped with absolutely everything you need, including a vacuum cleaner. The tap water is filtered and tastes very nice. The WIFI connection was strong and there is a phone for local calls. I was apprehensive about the shared on-site laundry facility, but it worked out really well. There are miles of beach right on the doorstep and great restaurants within walking distance. Susan, the property manager is very professional and just a phone call away should you need anything. We really enjoyed our trip to Viva."

  • Awesome Location!

"Wow! My wife, my 3 teenage daughters, and I cannot stop talking about this condo. What a location! You open the door to the condo and bam...there is that view. It is nothing short of stunning. It's just like the pictures. No zoom lens shot to get that view. The condo was a perfect fit for us. The place was very upscale, without being pretentious. Very comfortable, with a classic feel of Old Mexico. The unit had everything we needed...beach chairs, umbrella, etc. There is a grocery store (HUGE) just a 10 minute drive away with anything you may not find in the unit. The Casa Del Mar facilities were very relaxing, the staff there was VERY attentive. They made us feel more like family, than tourists. There are multiple pools to lounge around in, a restaurant, and of course the beach. Every night my entire family would actually put our iPhones down, sit on the patio for hours, just listening to the waves crash against the sand while the moon rise would rise over the Sea of Cortez. No words or pictures can describe how beautiful it was. You really don't need to ever leave the property. We chose to rent a car though so we could explore. Driving around was not an issue. The owner supplied a list of restaurants around town that were "spot on" for my girls. The public beach (Playa Santa Maria) we went to was NOTHING like anything I've seen in The States. Brand new bathrooms, showers, SUPER helpful lifeguards, and they raked the sand every day. It looked like a high end resort! If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet, getaway with a view...this is it. Just stop looking, and book this place before I do. It's been a few weeks since we left Casa Del Mar, and my girls will still text me pictures from our trip. Just little reminders. I guess they want to go back. I do too. :-)"

  • Pretty much everything we could want in a temporary home

"We had an awesome time at Casa Wendt with a few friends/couples. The pool is a fabulous place to hang out, and the patio beer fridge keeps beer at just the perfect temperature!! Home is very comfortable and the added bonus of the vehicle was so appreciated. We even made a fabulous Christmas turkey dinner with fresh herbs from the garden!! Yum! Nice walk down to the beach and Zippers, although the walk back up the hill is a good hike... (ready for a swim again!) Friendly gated neighborhood with amazing views on our walks. Only 2 small complaints/suggestions: Other than the master bedroom, the beds could use a memory-foam mattress topper & better pillows for some forgiveness over the hard mattresses. There is also a house in the next neighborhood behind here that had dogs that seemed to go off barking in the morning (ugh... not Steve's fault, but if I had a bebe gun... just kidding!) After 5 weeks, we felt like it was "our home" and we were very sad to go. We definitely would recommend Casa Wendt !"
