  • Great Vacation....the view from the patio of the sunrises make your day!!!

"My husband and myself stayed in this 3 bedroom and 2 bath home for 5 weeks with family members that came to visit throughout the time we spent there. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Bob and Lupa and having dinner with them a few times well they were in town, and truly enjoyed ther company...great people!! We loved the home, the view is fabulous, we were up every morning to se the stunning sun rise views!!! The house is great for families as the layout lets you have some private time as well. The pool and hot tub were great, we had a hot tub every night and in the morning with our coffee to watch the sunrise. Thanks to Paulino (manager) for looking after everything well we stayed. We have already booked our next year vacation we loved it so much!!"

  • Perfect getaway for the family

"We just returned from Coral Baja following a pre-back-to-school trip. The unit was clean, well-stocked, comfortable, and spacious. Ocean views from living room, master, and decks. The manager (Pat) was extremely responsive and the staff at the resort were friendly. The pool was nice, the restaurant on-site "Mama Mia" had the best guacamole and chips, and the grounds were well-maintained. Every morning we walked down the beach and surfed Zippers, then after breakfast went snorkeling at one of the calm bays (Palmilla, Bahia Santa Maria, and Chileno Bay) followed by late afternoon body-surfing in front. The waves get pretty crunchy so only go in if you're comfortable with that. The beach out front is raked every morning....we felt guilty putting footprints in the sand! If you go snorkeling, bring breadcrumbs and feed the fish - as soon as you let some bread pieces out, hundreds of fish surround you. We took cabs everywhere. The lobby staff have a list of the cab fares to each spot so there wasn't any hassling over rates with the drivers, who were courteous. The supermarket down the street is as good as any American market and had ATMs for cash pesos. We drank the tap water at Coral Baja and none of us had issues. Overall, it was great for all four of us and we look forward to returning."

  • Great Stay

"Wife and I, along with another couple, stayed at Mananitas from Dec. 25, 2015 - Jan. 1, 2016. First things first. I really enjoyed working with Ron regarding our stay. He was quick to answer questions via e-mail and we had conversations on the phone and text. Can't say enough about how comfortable I felt heading into this stay. The condo is as advertised, maybe a little better. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the pots and pans, cooking utensils and kitchen supplies. This included two coffee makers, which was really appreciated as we had a decaf drinker and a couple regular coffee drinkers among us. We cooked breakfast most mornings, so we really appreciated the kitchen. This condo has a great veranda/lanai with a spectacular view of the Sea of Cortez. There was a full moon during our stay, so watching the moon rise and the reflection of the water was really something. The wife is not a huge sun person, so she really enjoyed being able to relax and read here during the day and the four of us spent many hours here in the evening. Other highlights: - Great pool options. We are beach people, so did not use the pools, instead enjoying the wide beach. Great place of seaside sunning. - A five minute walk to the Mega, a full service grocery (and more) that will have all the things you would need during your stay. Ron has a cart, cloth bags and bag holders available. These are great as the bags used in Mexico and not comparable to what you might be used to from your local US grocery. - Strong and reliable wi-fi. - Cabs and local busses are a couple minutes walk away. Several good restaurants within walking distance. I see people on message boards talking of walking to town, but that is probably a little over two miles. Bus ride was slightly over $1 and a cab was $6 for four of us. - Very secure setting. Security personnel were very visible, day and night. They quietly went about their business. This was our first stay in San Jose after over a dozen stays in Cabo San Lucas. San Jose is much quieter than San Lucas, which we found quite refreshing. Many good restaurants all over town. I would anticipate that we will be returning to San Jose and this great condo."

  • Beautiful property above and beyond happy with our stay and would definitely come back again!

"El Zalate is my favorite property to stay at when visiting San Jose. This unit was by far my favorite. It was nicely appointed with everything you would need on your trip (including all beach chairs, toys and towels), right down to the citrus press for margaritas!! The patio was so beautiful and quiet with a perfect view of the ocean. The beds in both bedrooms were extremely comfortable and the shower in the master bathroom! I wish I could take that water pressure home with me!! It is close to everything and within walking distance to the Mega grocery store that is huge and clean. Everyone is so friendly here and the restaurants are all delicious! Bill and Nonie make you feel right at home with their welcome book of favorite restaurants and things to do and see. I would definitely stay in this unit again and recommend it to anyone going to San Jose. There may be newer units to stay in in San Jose but El Zalate takes pride in their property and is constantly maintaining it and keeping it lush and beautiful. IF you want to stay somewhere with a lot of action, this is not the place for you. If you want a place that you can thoroughly relax and know you are surrounded by friendly neighbors and you are safe, I would suggest El Zalate!!"
