  • Comfortable home in wonderful location

"We enjoyed our stay at Casa de Alhaja very much. It is a great house with a lovely view and perfect access to the beach. It is a peaceful place, secluded but not too isolated. It is clean and well stocked. Lots of pots and pans, cleaning supplies, towels etc. The manager, Debbie, lives right across the dirt road. She was informative, helpful, and meets you at the house to answer all questions and make suggestions. If you need anything, it is taken care of right away. Barb, the owner, was also available (prior to our trip) to answer our questions. We appreciated the slow pace, friendly people and delicious food. We loved Baja Beans, Hierbabuena (farm to table restaurant), and Taqueria Los Poblanos right in Pescadero. A highlight was the dog surfing competition at Cerritos Beach...what fun! We ate in Todos Santos at Hotel California and at "Restaurant & Gallery "(not sure of the real name). Both wonderful in different ways. We were delighted by the artisan boutiques, art galleries, and spent an afternoon with artist Nanette Hayles at her home in Todos Santos doing collages. Very cool! We traveled to La Paz & visited the new whale museum, and walked along the Malecon. It borders the stunning Sea of Cortez. From there, we drove to Balandra beach, a very unique landscape with warm, turquoise water, surrounded by the brown desert hills. We relished lots of downtime, too. It was a memorable and lovely vacation. We would recommend this type of house, setting, and vacation to people who like to be off the beaten path, who like a slower paced vacation, who are a bit adventurous and don't mind NOT HAVING the crowds, typical tourists amenities, and excitement of the bigger resort cities."

  • Excellent beachfront home in a great location

"I would really give this place a 4.5 rating, but not a 5. It's our 3rd time in the Todos Santos area and we've stayed in different houses each time, so that is my basis for comparison. First the good points: - Incredible location - right on the beach and minutes to Todos Santos - Clean and well appointed - bright and spacious. Views of the ocean from every room - wifi works well (not always the case in the area) - right next to the sea turtle greenhouse and during high season you can go see the baby turtles being released at sunset. - Tim is an excellent host. Easy to get a hold of and very nice - Secure and safe - people have experienced minor break-ins in the area, but this house is well secured. - Each room has an en-suite bathroom - Pool is nice and well heated (if you decide to heat it) - Having an outdoor fire pit for evening fires is nice - Master bedroom/bathroom is 5 star living. The not so good points: - There is no water pressure in 2 of the bathrooms. We were told they are working on this and plan to have it fixed by next high season, but all 6 of us had to bathe in the master bathroom. - The shower in the master bathroom is very nice, but water gets everywhere. This seems very fixable. - There is only room for 4 at the hightop dining table, and the hightop is not comfortable - especially for kids. We ate at the couch and kitchen counter the whole time. Not a big deal, but something to consider. - There was only a small blender for making drinks - enough to make 2 at a time. - The stairs are not the best for kids or elderly. Overall this is a great place and we would definitely consider staying there again. If the bathroom water pressure is fixed, then we will certainly stay there again. This is a new listing and I'm confident they will work out all the small details that help to make vacations relaxing. Robin (the owner) was very easy to communicate with as well."

  • Great Couples Getaway

"My wife and I just got back from a great stay at Mark's Whale View Inn. We only stayed there 3 nights/ 4 days but we wish we stayed there much longer. The house was very comfortable and the views were spectacular. I spent every morning fishing with Mark off of the beach where I hooked 2 rooster fish due to Mark's great advice. While I fished my wife would take a nice walk along the beach where the sand was perfect and the crowds were minimal (i.e. maybe 1-2 other people on the entire beach). In the afternoon my wife and I would hang out on the porch and soak in the beautiful views with maybe a siesta and cold beer. Then in the evenings we would watch the sunset from the porch followed by a great dinner from one of the many options in Todos Santos. I highly recommend staying at the Whale View Inn. Especially if you like spectacular views, fun fishing, great food, nice walks on the beach, and comfortable accommodations."

  • Perfect location!

"My husband and I stayed at the Yellow Farmhouse for a couple weeks and it was ideally suited for our needs. Easy and beautiful walks to the beach, historic downtown Todos Santos, an organic farm, great restaurants and a nice market. The kitchen was well stocked and our hosts David and Anna even left us a basket full of local goodies! The beds were comfortable and it was nice that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The yard around the farmhouse was beautifully landscaped, with citrus in bloom by the front porch. We can't wait to return! Kathy and Steven"
