  • Amazing

"We had the pleasure of staying in the casita for two weeks in May. There are so many good things to say about it, I'll do my best to summarize. First of all the access to the water is unbelievable. If you are like us and just love the ocean and all it has to offer, this is ideal. It is a 4 minute walk, down a dirt road to the crystal blue waters of the Sea of Cortez. I would start my day with a morning swim along the coast, and as I swam along, I saw all kinds of fish as well as rays, it was unbelievable. There are two small reefs right off the beach that are great for snorkeling. One of the highlights was the leaping Mobula Rays, which you can watch from the balcony on the casita or up close an personal in a kayak. Having access to the kayaks was wonderful, we were able to paddle up and down the beach, finding different places to explore as well as paddling out and watching the leaping Mobula Ray show. The town of Los Barilles is wonderful, very low key and peaceful, with many good restaurants. Our two favorites were Piscis (next to Chapitos back alley parking area) and Cafe Maria (a bit tricky to locate, but there is a review on trip adviser that gives directions). We rented ATV's from Quadman and had great experiences exploring the arroyos and traveling along the road to Punta Pescadero (which has amazing snorkeling). Also took a trip to Cabo Pulmo for a dive adventure. Dove with Cabo Pulmo Diving (Pilu is wondeful), which was fantastic. Other than that, you can enjoy the solitude Los Barilles has to offer, it was a memorable and relaxing two week stay."

  • Great Location + Great Home + Great Host = Great Times

"I traveled with a group of close friends down to Loreto toward the end of May into the beginning of June. We actually ended up renting a couple houses that were right near each other to accommodate our group. One of those homes being Chuck and Trish's. From the beginning, we know we'd be in for a great experience. Chuck was very helpful in getting us ready for the trip with all the pertinent details of the home and area - including some recommendations for entertainment, food, drink, fishing, etc. The home was very well appointed, with everything you could need to feel at home. The home's location is ideal. It's conveniently located on one of the two main roads into Loreto Bay. Being kitty-corner to the resort and just across the street from one of the pools made for an easy walk to the water - whether it be the beach or a pool. The landscaping, streets, everything was very well maintained. There wasn't a day when their crews weren't out sprucing the landscaping up. But not so much work where it was interruptive or annoying. I'd recommend this home and working with Chuck to anyone... well, as long as it's not a day I'd like to be down there:) Seriously, would do it again and wouldn't hesitate to stay in this home. • Fantastic location right on the beach...

"El Zalate is a lovely complex - the grounds are meticulously maintained and the gardens are beautiful. The complex sits on the doorstep of Costa Azul beach where you can walk for miles and/or just sit and watch the world go by. The best feature of this condo is its balcony. It is large and nicely furnished - we enjoyed many hours out there watching the sunrise and the whales play. We also enjoyed almost all our meals out there. It is ideally situated to get the early morning sun and then become quite shady later in the day. We rented a jeep to get around as we did not find the roadways to be at all walker friendly. We did not use the bus system but were told by others that it was very good and easy to use. Maybe next time 😎 The Mega store is close by and we were able to buy everything we needed there. Also as a special treat - there is a Fish Lady who visits El Zalate every Friday afternoon - she sells the freshest fish - excellent variety - reasonable prices. We also used the services of Nash Properties cleaning crew to come in weekly to clean the condo because who wants to do housework on vacation? They did a fantastic job and we would highly recommend them. Les and his assistant Maggie were good to deal with. Responsive to our inquiries and quick to provide anything we needed. We would return to El Zalate in the future."
