  • Amazing stay at La Bahia in Akumal

"We had just an amazing time stay! Really, I can't say we had anything negative to say about the place or our trip. The place was spacious, and had all the amenities we could possibly ask for. We were even able to watch football on Sunday morning! The weather turned out perfect (although we were a bit concerned about hurricane Matthew's path days before leaving). We maybe had ten minutes of rain the whole trip! The staff at La Bahia were just awesome; they were helpful and available for whatever we needed. We were there with a couple who had been to Akumal and stayed at La Bahia before (they stayed in #3 both times), so it was nice having them to guide us around Akumal and show us all the spots. But really it's an easy place to navigate. We were able to rent bikes right there at La Bahia, and they were a perfect way to get around. The staff was always available to put air in the tires or fix any issues we had, which we did not. We did a lot of the touristy things: snorkeled and spent time at Akumal Bay, Coba, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum Ruins, and Ya Kul. Absolutely loved the restaurant La Buena Vida (just a short bike ride or walk from La Bahia), and spent a lot of time there. We had a number of meals there also, all very good! La Lunita, a short ride/walk the other direction was also very, very good. Ya Kul was a phenomenal snorkeling spot, and it's just a short ride away also. But really, snorkeling in front of La Bahia was as good as any place I've been to, lot of coral, fish, and clear water. Half moon bay is just gorgeous and unmatched at sunrise. We were also able to see plenty of turtles in Akumal bay (a mile or so away), and the beach there is the best I've seen, ever. We have been to both Jamaica and the Dominican (Punta Cana), but I would much rather return to Akumal. It's an amazing little pocket of paradise and much more affordable than a resort!"

  • Nice furnishing's and great view.

"First the pro's we found this condo to be beautiful furnished with a very comfortable bed in the bedroom and a really nice view from the balcony. My husband and I stayed for 10 days and we had a couple of friends for 4 days. I love to cook and read that the unit was fully equipped. Here's where the con's come in. This unit sleeps four, but only had 3 plates and only two forks. The skillets were so worn that the tefalon was peeling off and unusable. There were no teaspoons only large spoons, no measuring spoons and the only measuring cup measures had all been worn off making it useless. There are barbecues on site however there was no barbecue tools or anything to light the grills for that matter. Also, there were no pot holders for the oven. These are all things that could be picked up at the dollar store to make for a more pleasant cooking experience. My guess who slept on the pull out sleeper sofa felt every bar and metal spring. Perhaps pick up an egg crate to make the sleeper sofa more comfortable. If these things were corrected this could be the ultimate rental."
