  • Wonderful!

"First of all, San Miquel is a stunning city and an excellent place to spend at least a week. Tough walking for the elderly, but so, so interesting. Casa Christina is lovely. The rooms are all very comfortable, the ambience of the home is like no place I have ever stayed, the rooftop veranda wonderful for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. Maria is a sweetheart. The objects d'arte and the paintings are worth the visit. Our only problem, was that my husband got up to get a drink of water in the night, missed the stairs that divide the office from the bedroom, and fell headfirst into a very large and heavy dresser. We had enough injuries from that situation to warrant leaving 5 days early. The fault was entirely ours--nothing at all wrong with the house. He could have turned on the lights, but he didn't want to disturb my sleep. Word to the wise: use lights; watch your step. We had planned to stay through Easter, which we had done one other time. We were sorry to miss all the traditional festivities that go on in San Miquel during that time. I recommend this home highly. It is in a great part of town right across from a beautiful church and within a 10-15 minute walk to the center of town."

  • Perfect location, perfect host.

"You couldn't ask for a better location in San Miguel. This property is right in centro. Less than a 5 minute walk to the Jardin or out Zacateros/Hernandez Macias towards Ancha San Antonio. My wife and I spent 2 weeks out of our month stay in San Miguel here and this was our favorite location. Being right across the street from one of the best bakery/coffee shops in town doesn't hurt either :) We stayed here while going to school at Academia Hispano Americana just up the road. It was especially convenient for us because it had a full sized dining room table at which we could do our homework. The best part, though, is the host. Heather is a real gem. You couldn't ask for a nicer, more considerate host."

  • Absolutely the best place we've ever stayed!

"The home was beautiful! We had guests over for dinner and to play in the pool - everyone raved about the house. I picked a fresh lime for our Pacificos and Janan was there when we needed her - all supportive and guided us for amazing dinners! Highly, highly recommend. Safe, easy to navigate and all the food was cost effective!"

  • Gracious & Beautiful

"Casa Amor a la Vida was spectacular. The property is beautiful and comfortable and the location is excellent. We are a family of 6 ages 70 through 21 and everyone was delighted with the accommodations (and the comfortable beds) and we all want to return to San Miguel and stay at Casa Amor a la Vida soon. The driver Salvador was incredible and he drove us to and from the airport as well as day trips. The housekeeper was a delight and made us a delicious meal one evening. My girlfriend just finished renovating her beautiful house 2 blocks away. She saw Casa Amor a la Vida and loved it. The sunset from the roof deck was a favorite. Fabulous experience."
