  • Perfect

"This house was quiet, clean and private. It was clean and had all of the necessary amenities. The only thing we wish it had was a breezeway between the bedroom and the kitchen/bathroom. We were there for 4 weeks to learn Spanish. While the walk to town was about 20-25 minutes, it was a pleasant way to start every morning. If your not heading into town, there is plenty around La Presa. Don was very friendly and gave us our privacy. He was also helpful with local landmarks and places to eat. I'd recommend this to anyone staying in Guanajuato."

  • Comfortable, beautiful apartment!

"The apartment is beautiful, comfortable, and, in my opinion, located in the best neighborhood of Guanajuato. It is an easy 10 minute walk to Teatro Juarez and the shops and restaurants in the city center. It is also near my favorite plaza, Mexiamora, it is very safe (I stayed here as a single female and was very comfortable walking around the neighborhood), and there are several nearby stores to buy supplies. My parents, who are in their late 60s/early 70s also stayed here when they came to visit, and even though my mom has issues with her ankle, they were able to walk up and down to the city center without issue. Another plus is that if you need or want to, it is always easy to take a taxi to the apartment, which is not true for many of the rentals in Guanajuato which are in the middle of callejones where cars cannot go. The apartment has a full kitchen, a living area, a bedroom with a comfortable bed, and a bathroom. It also has a balcony, which is great for reading, eating, writing emails, and overlooking the beautiful courtyard and the city below. Gerardo is very hepful and nice, as are the other people who work at the apartment complex. There is plenty of privacy, and I also had the opportunity to meet other interesting travelers who stayed in an apartment. I cannot recommend these apartments enough and I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Guanajuato. Thank you, Gerardo! Nos vemos."

  • About the most central place to be found in Guanajuato!

"If you haven't been to Guanajuato, by all means go. And stay here! Gto is a wonderful city, a mix of cultures and architecture and history that should be experienced. This was the perfect base to explore this UNESCO World Heritage city. Just across the main street is my favorite, Plaza San Fernando, with its huge shade trees, fountain and alfresco cafes. Mercado Hidalgo is just up the street (best place to buy fresh avocados, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeno, and onion and make a guacamole snack. It's close to pretty much everything, including Union Garden. The house itself is classic Gto, but nicely remodeled and updated. The living area is clean, comfortable and well furnished. It is dark even with the shutters open, as are most of the houses in Gto. I'd recommend brighter lamps, but we spent very little time there--there's too much else to do, and the terrace is spectacular. The three bathrooms are very usable. The kitchen is complete, but honestly, we didn't use it at all. There's too much to experience in the city, and the exchange rate is favorable for dollars, so eating out is pretty cheap. The reading area is wonderful and opens to the city. I wish the couch fit more than 2 people. The bed in the reading area is really best for kids, or people willing to forego privacy and scrunch up. It's pretty small and low to the ground, but reportedly comfortable. The other bedrooms were comfortable and well sized (wish there were a queen bed or two, but the two doubles were workable), and the king master bedroom was huge. The terraces are where this house really shines. There is no need to be inside when you can be on top of the world. The patio always had shade, and was just delightful. Coffee and a book in the morning or a frosty beverage in the evening was wonderful. The stairs up were very steep, but backing down them felt safe and secure. I'd recommend arranging transportation with Beatriz, as she can get you right to the front door. Gto is a maze that airport taxis just can't seem to navigate. We took a van from the airport and had to haul our luggage up from the main street. It's not that far, but it is fairly steep and at 6500 feet elevation, we huffed and puffed each time we climbed up the callejons. Gto is a walking city, so bring comfortable footwear. And yes, this is in an urban location, so be prepared for some noise. We adapted quickly to the background noise of a vibrant city and slept just fine. I'd highly recommend this place"

  • Travel Lust

"Wife, husband, sister and two teenagers stayed for a week. We have stayed in several homes in Guanajuato over the past several years, this will be our go to place now. Unlike many of the older homes in this colonial town that are dark, moist and mildewed this home is light, bright and air with it's open floor plan. We also enjoyed the many patio areas to relax and watch the day go by. The owner could not have been more responsive in setting up our arrival and answer our questions. Like wise the property manager was very helpful and shared his knowledge of the area. We hope to return again soon"
