  • A wonderful place!

"This house is truly a palace. It is an old colonial with 4+ outdoor garden areas: 3 terraces and a courtyard, all filled with beautiful flowers, artfully placed. Views of the city from the upper terraces are tremendous, and there is nice outdoor furniture furniture, including shade umbrellas to enjoy it. We enjoyed watching the birds (hummingbirds, scarlet fly catchers, etc) from the upper terraces. The courtyard has a beautiful fountain (that is also visible and audible from the inside, by opening the glass french doors) and is a garden of eden. Inside is beautiful art, comfy and aesthetically pleasing furniture in an old world Mexican ambiance. Lots of art and books. Plenty of guidebooks and info on San Miguel. Kitchen, washer, and dryer made it all easy. Margarita, the property manager/cook, was helpful with everything (shopped for food, cooked some meals, answered questions about San Miguel, and washed clothes), and even corrected our Spanish when we asked. The location is perfect---about 4 or 5 blocks from the center of town. Walkable, but no traffic noise. There are a few small stores within 2 minutes to pick up freshly made tamales, fresh orange juice, egg, fruit, veggies, etc."

  • Casa Lucia

"We stayed here for 8 nights in March 2016. It was the week before Easter and San Miguel was quite busy and festive. The house was perfect fit for us, 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The location is ideal being extremely close to the Institute de Allende and the Saturday organic market. It's an easy walk to the Jardin and the center of town. There is a fruit and vegetable vender within 2 blocks and lots of small stores nearby for basics. An easy walk to many restaurants as well. The house itself is beautiful and well maintained. There are gas heated fireplaces in the main room and bedrooms which we used to warm the rooms in the cool early mornings. They worked great. We spent a lot of time in the uncovered courtyard which has tons of comfortable seating and lots of flowers and climbing vines. Peaceful and relaxing. We also spent time on the rooftop area which had good views especially at sunset. The stairs to the roof are steep and offset and you need decent balance to go up there. The kitchen was marvelous and outfitted with a great gas stove, microwave, deep sinks, fridge and freezer. The freezer had an automatic ice maker using filtered water and we made good use of the ice cubes and blender for margaritas. There is no dishwasher but soap and cleaning materials are provided. The house also has a washer and dryer which is very handy. There is an attached casita which has a large room/bedroom and attached small kitchen which we never used. The casita is also where the washer and dryer are. The other two bedrooms are on the second floor of the main house. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and they are really nice. Outside of one bedroom is an open air porch with a lounge chair. It's a perfect set up for 3 couples, plenty of individual private space and great open air communal areas. The housekeeper came twice during the week we were there and did a great job. There was a gardener there once I believe to sweep the outside areas and removed the trash. The property manager met us on arrival and they were available and easily reachable during our stay. We did not have any problems or issues during our stay but I had the feeling that if something came up they would be easily reachable to correct the problem. The property managers also arranged our transport to and from the Leon airport. The drivers were on time and worked well for us. Only downside neighborhood has a few dogs that like to bark. Imagine it's the same all over town."

  • Delighted!

"My husband & I stayed here for 5 weeks which this year included Easter. The casita is on the ground floor & it includes a lovely courtyard with fountain. The unit is spacious & nicely decorated. Maria, the housekeeper does a great job & was eager to help. The bedroom contains a very comfortable king bed & lots of storage for your belongings. It was lovely to walk only 5 mins to the market, butcher chops, bakeries, etc. Loved the location, so close to everything & lots to do in San Miguel. The Easter celebrations were numerous & we loved the Mexica people here. The laneway to the unit was charming & the residents eager to speak to you, especially the children. David, the unit manager speaks fluent english & always picked up his cell phone when I called. We had a medical issue while visiting & David was always there to help us & arrange whatever we needed. Would we stay in this casita again? Absolutely. Loved it!"

  • Exquisite Home

"My husband and I with our two children recently stayed in this lovely home in San Miguel. We loved it the moment we arrived. We were met by Sofia who worked for the property management and she gave us a tour and debriefed us about the house ie. How to work the three gas fireplaces, stove etc. The house was furnished with local art and antiques. Each room was comfortable and the outside sitting areas were lovely with lush vegetation and beautiful flowering plants. There are four patios/ seating areas and we would move from one to another depending on the time of day and whether we wanted to enjoy the sunset or the more immediate surroundings. The bedrooms were all very comfortable with quality mattresses and bedding. Each bedroom had an ensuite and were full of character with Mexican tiles in the bathrooms and artwork on the walls. The master bedroom had a gas fireplace and the other bedrooms had woodfire places that we were told were for show only. They did add character and as it was chilly in the evenings the space heaters were used in the bedrooms to get rid of any chill. There were also electric blankets that were used so no one was chilled. The two bedrooms were across the courtyard from the main house and the master suite. This would be a great set up for couples or older children. Our children who are 10 and 12 found it a bit frightening the first night but by the second night they were fine and enjoyed their bit of independence! The cook/housekeeper Lola is a lovely person and made a number of delicious meals for us. We felt truly pampered! The location of the home is spectacular. Set slightly up on the hill it affords a great view of the city along with the various churches. There is a small church two doors away which is very pretty and the street itself is cobblestone and full of character . We loved our week in San Miguel. It was a wonderful place to spend Christmas. We were able to partake in a posada and also enjoyed the live nativity scene in the Jardin. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We hope to be back one day and will certainly recommend this home to friends."
