  • Be enchanted by the beauty that awaits at every turn

"There is nothing that could have prepared me for what awaited us behind a nondescript door on the quaint cobblestone street. The moment you step into this beautiful property you are swept up into something quite magical. We were greeted by the warm and wonderful Kathy and Steve, who have taken the time to put just the right touch into every inch of the home. Its quite a special thing to have a home full of such wonderful art, but still make it cozy and comfortable. The living room with its fireplace was a perfect space to read. The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable with fine linens and plush beds. And a fireplace in each just added to the ambiance. The outside courtyard was a peaceful haven and the perfect place to enjoy breakfast outdoors. The rooftop had a breathtaking view of the Parroquia and was the most enjoyable spot to just sit and soak it all in. The house leaves nothing to be desired. The kitchen is well stocked and leaves you yearning that you could somehow figure out a way to replicate it at home. Kathy and Steve were tremendous hosts. Available for any request and graciously took us out to see their beautiful ranch, horseback ride and prepared lunch for us out on their beautiful back porce. The house was absolute perfection, and the hosts just made it all the more wonderful and warm an experience. The location of the home is perfect. My favorite street in all of the city for its short walk location to everything. A run in the park, a spa day at rosewood, an amazing coffee at the corner, salmon bagels at cafe Rama, breakfast at Lavande and a foreign film at movie pocket theater. Oh, and the Parroquia of course. All within a 5-10 min easy walk. We've stayed all over the world and all over San Miguel and this is by far the most beautiful home and experience we've ever had with a rental. We loved it so much, we booked it three more times for the year before we even left. I can't recommend it enough..."

  • Dreamy Getaway!

"I've just returned with my wife from a few days in Mexico City, followed by a week at this house in San Miguel de Allende (SMA), my best vacation in many years. I'll start by noting that the house is perfectly located under a gorgeous canyon that's part of the Charco del Ingenio, the coolest ''urban'' botanical garden I've ever seen. (You must, too, and go into the canyon!) The house is in a cul de sac not far from anywhere in the old city (Jardin), but quiet, with a lovely roof for gaining Vitamin D while seeing the city and hills (and canyon). Fruit and veggies are nearby at the market, restaurants plentiful! The city is gorgeous and colorful, full of people from all over the world. The house is romantic and cool. I love the master bedroom ceiling! My wife and I loved having our own bathrooms on the same floor, and we loved two things the owner does not mention: the Wi-Fi and a clothes washing machine! We did not cook hot food but we made great yogurt breakfasts every day, stuffed with fruits and nuts (a blessing after too many eggs in Mexico City). Lots of snacks and drinks, too. You should know that the Bonanza food store on nearby Mesones has loads of great provisions.... We never took a taxi, walked all over SMA, both lost weight eating amazing food, drinking very nice wines from all over, including Mexico's Baja California (such as a Nebbiolo at La Virundela, a delightful Argentine restaurant near the Instituto Allende). My wife loved doing yoga in the morning in the azoteca, using the house yoga mat. We made friends around the city during our visit. The property manager, Javier, was readily accessible and responsive. The maid was very nice on her two visits. Baijogo car service quite perfectly got us there from Mexico City and later to the airport. We can't wait to return to SMA!"

  • Felt like home, only better

"My husband and I went to San Miguel de Allende for a week away from home. There is much to love in this inn. The owners are fun to talk with and the staff is the best. Magali even gave me a Mexican cooking lesson. It is more of a residence than a hotel, so think accordingly. Bring a bit of soap, shampoo and coffee. Then go visit the wonderful nearby stores for supplies. There is a joke that you say you are here for a week or so, but the joke is "That's what you think!" You really don't want to go home. The location is very central to El Jardin. With lots of restaurants and, of course, shopping! Walking around town is lovely and the people are really nice."

  • This is a great place to stay!

"The initial draw of this house was that it was big enough to hold our slightly large group and located close to our local family and downtown. The added bonus was that it is a beautiful and comfortable home. With the high ceiling, stained glass windows and all the artwork on the walls, the living and dining rooms are very pleasant and comfortable to hang out in. The garden is beautiful, with lots of flowers and fruit trees. We really enjoyed staying in this house and feel lucky to have found it. Lucero and Claudia were very helpful and we really enjoyed Sweetie. We would definitely recommend this house and would stay there again without hesitation."
