  • infusion of gorgeous character for your senses

"This was our third time at this property, the first in too many years. It's not new -- it's full of character and that's what makes it so special. Flowers of all colors are everywhere, the rooms are painted in the Mexican tradition -- with lime wash and lots of colors -- and filled with interesting folk art. The patios - one on the main floor, one near the lime tree that supplies your limonadas and margaritas and the one on the rooftop overlooking the churches and colors of the city and then the soft, rolling hills of the countryside - all offer respite from the bustling mercado and walks up and down cobblestones streets which are literally right outside your door. The rooms are also quite nice for siestas! (My favorite is the blue room across the patio from the kitchen). Juana makes you feel at home, especially if you can speak a little Spanish. She is not only an amazing cook, she'll patiently correct your Spanish in her kitchen or at the market shopping with her at her favorite stalls for the ingredients for a special meal. Meals include chicken mole, all kinds of enchiladas (Juana tells you that the best tortillas for enchiladas are from the lady with the basket right inside the main market entrance), potato pancakes with homemade salsa (especially popular with teens and kids), guacamole, chiles rellanos, etc. San Miguel itself is a feast for the senses. Church bells, seemingly random parades celebrating numerous saints, film festivals, lectures, art galleries and museums, archeological tours, day trips to Guanajuato or Querataro or beautiful natural springs at La Gruta (or the natural spring fed Xote water park for the kids). Spanish classes, opportunities to volunteer and give back, and art classes, too. You won't regret your stay here -- will make a lifelong connection with this place."

  • Just What We Were Looking For!

"On our second trip to San Miguel, we rented the lovely, contemporary Casa Jardin, I felt right at home. Beautiful, spacious, gorgeous garden, roof top. Perfect location, walking distance to downtown. What a view! We had everything we needed - kitchen was well stocked for cooking, big master bedroom and bath. The best part was the neighborhood. Wonderful neighbors and kids playing in the "callejón". The Management service responded quickly and thoughtfully to all our needs. Can't wait to rent it again!!!"

  • Cozy Apartment Has It All!

"We stayed in this San Miguel apartment for 6 weeks and enjoyed it so much. It is situated on a hill which was a manageable walk from the Jardin and had lovely views of the town from the shared terrasse. The apartment had everything we needed and was tastefully decorated. The owner was very helpful when there were minor problems which were solved speedily. We hope that we can return next year. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Ron & Fiona"

  • Perfect Rental

"We spent eight days in this fantastic home with three generations under one roof. Nothing could have been better and as the English say the 'value for dollars' was amazing. We arrived to a huge cut flower display, i suppose from the adjacent flower stand. The plashing fountains, two levels of roof top deck with views forever… well tended plants and a well cleaned home with traditional tile floors. Cooking meals worked out well in the stocked kitchen--including traditional dish ware. There was plenty of room to spread out with two living rooms and huge dining area. The house has wonderful 'architectural interest'--the photos don't lie. The bedrooms are spacious and the en suite baths a bonus. The home is walking distance-- no thats wrong-- immediately adjacent to things as diverse as the huge Parque Juarez and the roof top dining at the Rosewood Hotel; to local supermarkets for the bottled water and milk run; to restaurants and shops; to the local Taco cart… and is perhaps four or five blocks to the Jardin and Parrochia at town center. The owner was very communicative and paid attention to details like making up one room as a king bed rather than two twins. The staff was unobtrusive and willing to be of further (negotiated) service. The home is on a gated cobble stone street behind a porte cochere, on a private courtyard covered with flowering vines--c'mon now, ¿whats not to like? We engaged the ** highly** recommendable SMARide for airport and day trips and they knew the location well. Do yourself a favor!"
