  • A wonderful place!

"This house is truly a palace. It is an old colonial with 4+ outdoor garden areas: 3 terraces and a courtyard, all filled with beautiful flowers, artfully placed. Views of the city from the upper terraces are tremendous, and there is nice outdoor furniture furniture, including shade umbrellas to enjoy it. We enjoyed watching the birds (hummingbirds, scarlet fly catchers, etc) from the upper terraces. The courtyard has a beautiful fountain (that is also visible and audible from the inside, by opening the glass french doors) and is a garden of eden. Inside is beautiful art, comfy and aesthetically pleasing furniture in an old world Mexican ambiance. Lots of art and books. Plenty of guidebooks and info on San Miguel. Kitchen, washer, and dryer made it all easy. Margarita, the property manager/cook, was helpful with everything (shopped for food, cooked some meals, answered questions about San Miguel, and washed clothes), and even corrected our Spanish when we asked. The location is perfect---about 4 or 5 blocks from the center of town. Walkable, but no traffic noise. There are a few small stores within 2 minutes to pick up freshly made tamales, fresh orange juice, egg, fruit, veggies, etc."

  • Vibrant San Miguel

"I spent a week in San Miguel at this apartment and could not have been happier. The location is perfect, close to Centro basically a block and half off the main square. The apartment itself was nothing like I have stayed at before as it is designed and decorated in the traditional way for the area. I golfed almost everyday which I needed a cab to get to the courses. Walking out the door, I never had to wait more than 2 minutes for a cab to come right by my door and you can get anywhere in San Miguel for 3 to 4 dollars. Walking out the door everything is at your finger tips and there is so much to see, the city is vibrant is the only way I know how to explain it. The owner was incredibly accommodating as I arrived after midnight and with a touch of the flu. Not only was she helpful with things to do, she set me up with a doctor that her handy man took me because my Spanish is not good. Her helper that takes care of the cleaning went above and beyond as I also needed laundry done which was taken care of while I was golfing. Could not have been happier with the accommodations."

  • Why stay anywhere else?

"The obvious comments you will read about this rental are the amazing location and that is very true. But what I loved are the meticulous attention to detail by Lynn. It is not huge but you would not know it because it is so carefully laid out and so beautifully decorated. I loved every square inch of it. The large shower even has a rain forest showerhead! I ended up having to do a lot of work on my computer while I was there and it was still a treat. I had the doors to the lovely patio open and had a delightful breeze. The bed was heavenly for sleep. The sofa was so cozy. Everything you need is so close by yet you are just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the jardin. I give myself five stars for choosing this place!"

  • Charming digs in the heart of historic SMA

"My wife and I arrived quite late in the evening after a long day of travel. No chance to get groceries, but no matter. The essentials were provided and we were asleep in our comfortable bed in a matter of minutes. Next morning we noticed a fabulous bouquet of lilies and other delicious flowers on the coffee table filling the room with a glorious scent and putting us on notice that our host wanted us to enjoy her home. Our ten day stay was partly for work and partly for fun. It was a great location for both the meetings we had to attend and the restaurants and entertainment venues that abound in SMA. One day an extremely heavy rain storm cancelled some of our plans but our host had provided very nice selection of current magazines and we found the casita to be a beautiful cozy place to spend the entire day. We will be returning to SMA and will look forward to staying at Melissa's Casa De La Divas again when we do."
