  • Charming digs in the heart of historic SMA

"My wife and I arrived quite late in the evening after a long day of travel. No chance to get groceries, but no matter. The essentials were provided and we were asleep in our comfortable bed in a matter of minutes. Next morning we noticed a fabulous bouquet of lilies and other delicious flowers on the coffee table filling the room with a glorious scent and putting us on notice that our host wanted us to enjoy her home. Our ten day stay was partly for work and partly for fun. It was a great location for both the meetings we had to attend and the restaurants and entertainment venues that abound in SMA. One day an extremely heavy rain storm cancelled some of our plans but our host had provided very nice selection of current magazines and we found the casita to be a beautiful cozy place to spend the entire day. We will be returning to SMA and will look forward to staying at Melissa's Casa De La Divas again when we do."

  • Wonderful place to stay!

"The condo is as beautiful in real life as in the pictures. The location is absolutely fabulous. There is an Italian restaurant around the corner where I wouldn't mind eating every day. We stayed for two weeks. The maid came three times during that time. Everything was always clean and delightful. The owner, Heather Hanley, was extremely friendly and helpful in directing us where to eat and shop. I would recommend this place to anyone."

  • A Wonderful Residence for Our Ladies Getaway!!

"My two college friends and I just returned from a wonderful vacation to San Miguel de Allende. Our stay at this lovely residence was everything we hoped for and being there made our trip that much more special. The home was very comfortable and spacious with lots of authentic Mexican touches. We also had great outdoor spaces where we could visit and enjoy the perfect frozen margaritas prepared by our gracious host. The location was ideal...an easy walk to shops, restaurants and sights in the historic center of town and we were close to a taxi stand for longer trips. We were well cared for by the staff. Our cook, Delores, was fabulous. We had an extensive menu to chose from and everything she prepared for us was so fresh and delicious! The maid and gardener kept our rooms sparkling and and the many plants on the property in perfect condition. Our host and owner of the residence lives on the property, so he was close by to provide help, answer questions, make recommendations and replenish our margarita pitcher. He was a delight to meet and told us many interesting facts about the area. San Miguel de Allende is a beautiful place to visit and this was the perfect place for our stay. We all agreed that we want to return to this city and this home sometime in the future."

  • Excellent Location and House Amenities

"Our family travelled to San Miguel for a family wedding in April. We chose Casa Joya for its perfect location to accommodate immediate family within easy walking distance of the Jardin restaurants, coffee shops, the Mercado market and parks for people-watching. Upon entering the heavy outside wooden door from the walkway, all the comforts of home were available to everyone. The wonderful rooftop patio with comfortable furnishings provided an early morning place for coffee or after dark relaxing, overlooking the lights and sounds of the city. The exceptionally good internet access made it easy to keep contact with life back in the US. Although we visited the large Mega grocery store by taxi to stock the refrigerator and kitchen, most of the family enjoyed finding interesting places to eat in and around the Jardin and so inexpensively. Don't miss the nearby tortilla stand with it's fresh, hot tortillas awaiting under a towel for mere pesos for a stack wrapped in paper. A visit to the Mercado market kept fresh flowers and fruit in the kitchen for the entire stay. We especially appreciated all the assistance provided for transportation 5 times from and to the QRO airport. The drivers were always on time, helpful and friendly. Finally, we particularly enjoyed the attention the owners have given to furnishing and decorating their home with local interesting art and pottery. The bright colors, trickling water wall and creative lighting added another level of enjoyment to staying at Casa Joya. Thank you, Steve and Iona!"
