  • Couldn't be better!!!

"What can I say that hasn't already been said in the other reviews. We loved this apartment and we loved Marlene, our host. The apartment is so lovely, and one of my criteria is a comfortable bed. And it is! The apartment has a lovely rooftop terrace, great for afternoon naps, and evening happy hours. The location can't be beat, near all of our favorite restaurants, markets, activities etc. Marlene's assistants, Ana and Jose, are delightful and helpful. Thank you Marlene for your hospitality, introducing me to your friends, our writing class and the tour of the clay studio. See you next year."

  • Excellent Location and House Amenities

"Our family travelled to San Miguel for a family wedding in April. We chose Casa Joya for its perfect location to accommodate immediate family within easy walking distance of the Jardin restaurants, coffee shops, the Mercado market and parks for people-watching. Upon entering the heavy outside wooden door from the walkway, all the comforts of home were available to everyone. The wonderful rooftop patio with comfortable furnishings provided an early morning place for coffee or after dark relaxing, overlooking the lights and sounds of the city. The exceptionally good internet access made it easy to keep contact with life back in the US. Although we visited the large Mega grocery store by taxi to stock the refrigerator and kitchen, most of the family enjoyed finding interesting places to eat in and around the Jardin and so inexpensively. Don't miss the nearby tortilla stand with it's fresh, hot tortillas awaiting under a towel for mere pesos for a stack wrapped in paper. A visit to the Mercado market kept fresh flowers and fruit in the kitchen for the entire stay. We especially appreciated all the assistance provided for transportation 5 times from and to the QRO airport. The drivers were always on time, helpful and friendly. Finally, we particularly enjoyed the attention the owners have given to furnishing and decorating their home with local interesting art and pottery. The bright colors, trickling water wall and creative lighting added another level of enjoyment to staying at Casa Joya. Thank you, Steve and Iona!"

  • Beautiful, Art-Filled and Perfectly Located

"My husband and I returned to San Miguel after our first trip in 2012. This time we were with two couples who had not been to the City. On our recommendation, we stayed again at Casa Pina, where we had stayed in 2012. The other four were seasoned travelers, and so we held our breath, hoping that they would love Casa Pina as much as we had the first time we were there. We needn't have worried. They were as charmed as we were, and thanked us many times for bringing them to this magical home. Maria and Theresa, the cook and housekeeper, were there again, and were again attentive to our needs . . . and patient with our lack of Spanish speaking skills. Again, we did not take advantage of the lunches that they would have provided, but enjoyed their wonderful breakfasts every morning, as well as one dinner prepared at our request. The house was also beautifully maintained and picked up for our return each late afternoon or evening. Aleida, the owner, was also available to answer any questions that we had, as was the English speaking property manager. The location of the house is without peer. Within 1 1/2 blocks of the Jardin, and very near to the action while being very quiet and secluded. The design and decoration of the house are also very special. Three very private bedroom areas gave each couple all the privacy that they might want, while the common areas (particularly the living/dining room that is open to the courtyard, gave ample space for our time together. A second living room and dining room are available, but seldom used because we didn't want to leave the open air living area and large fireplace - perfect for eliminating any early morning or evening chill. In addition to the ample private areas, the Wi-Fi helped those of us who had to do a little work while we were there."

  • fantastic home, fantastic stay

"My five girlfriends and I enjoyed a wonderful week in Casa Carole to celebrate our big Birthdays! It is a beautiful home that truly brings to life the spirit of Mexico. Teresa and Rosa (our maids) were attentive and helpful. We also very much enjoyed San Miguel and would encourage all to have Angelica Tours assist with in home massages, facials, pedicures as well as day outings and other activities. it was an amazing stay."
