  • Beautiful home and hosts!

"My month long stay at La Casa Roja was very lovely and very comfortable. The apartment is beautiful, well appointed, and quite spacious. You will find everything you need for cooking and entertaining. There are wonderful windows with good lighting and airflow. The bed was comfortable with a huge walk in closet that is ideal for longer stays. The shower is great too with excellent water pressure. The courtyard and roof top terrace are gorgeous. Everything is beautifully decorated with the owners original artwork, fabulous mosaics. I loved the location too and found the walk into the town center and back a nice little workout, with a lot of interesting people and places to see along the way. I made new friends every single day. The best feature however were the hosts, Paul and Jane. They were there for every question I had and took great care to help me with whatever I needed. They are super gracious people. La Casa Roja would for sure be my first choice on any visit back to the area."

  • beyond memorable

"how to describe "sharon's casita" without sounding trite or redundant? let's start with 2 people who both have substantial left and right brain sensibilities. we appreciate attention to detail at all levels. my beau (engineer) was in awe of the construction/materials/craftsmanship of exterior and interior. while i was having my own love affair with art work/furnishings/kitchen + amenities/ spacious bath/outdoor garden. we explored the town exclusively on foot to get a sense of the people/architecture etc. we ate as many meals in as we did at restaurants because the ambience of the casita lends itself to home entertaining. our stay of two weeks was over before it began. so next time we will most assuredly extend our visit with sharon/francisca/carlos/charlie/chila. thanks ever so much for a memorable holiday."

  • beautiful house and pool

"terrific property on almost every count. Amalia is indeed a great cook and lovely person as well. The pool was warm enough to swim in almost every day, and the house was comfortable and very attractive. The kitchen has every condiment and utensil one could imagine. If I were the designer, I'd replace the huge outdoor table with something smaller. Beds were high and huge and took up more room than need be. But this is a very small complaint. You can walk to town in 20 minutes, and walk back in ... 35? Really steep climb. But it kept us in shape. Noise was a problem: barking dogs across the street and trucks downshifting on the nearby highway. But the air smells fresh, the plants are well taken care of. You can accidentally leave your door open! Few insects, many hummingbirds."

"We loved staying in the street level apartment for four weeks in San Miguel de Allende. There was a guest room close next to the apartment for our guests to come a stay. The place is well equipped and comfortable. Our apartment even had a small balcony over looking the city. The roof top patio is a wonderful place to watch the sunset or just to relax. The walk down is all downhill . Some days we were ambitious and walked up to the casa. But most days we took a cab. ( about 3 dollars). The owner kept us very informed. We felt very safe here. I would highly recommend casa Caracol."
