  • AWESOME place to stay in San Miguel de Allende

"My wife and I just spent 32 days at Casa Roja. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere in San Miguel other than with Paul and Jane and their cute dog Roddy. The accommodations were absolutely perfect for our needs. Located at the top of a hill, Casa Roja is a beautiful home with a great apartment in a perfect location to take a short walk to the Jardin, many restaurants, fruit/vegetable shops, and the many mercados scattered around the city. The rooftop patio is great for enjoying a good book, a glass of wine and a beautiful view of the city. If you trek downhill to town, it's somewhat of a hike back to the house, but for us it was great because with all the excellent food we consumed we needed the exercise of walking the hills back to the house. If you're not into walking, there are taxis that come by on a regular basis. What more can I say? AWESOME! Paul and Jane were excellent hosts. They were very helpful with anything we needed and had answers for our many questions about the city. Can't wait to return!"

  • 50th Celebration

"First off, if the city of San Miguel is unsurpassed the most beautiful city to visit. When they say Mexico this is the city that should come up at every search. I have been coming to SMA for a few years and this is the first time I used VRBO. This is was the perfect place and the most beautiful home. The actual house looks much better than the pictures. We had an amazing time the house is very roomy and plenty of space for all of us to feel comfortable. The top patio has an amazing view of the city and the Cathedral. We were there to celebrate my 50th Bday and this could not had been a better place. Josefina was the best we utilized her for a few of our meals. The cab rides are less than $3 USD this is nothing considering the walk. Make sure you bring walking shoes consider rocks and hills. WE had dinner at the Rosemont a 5 star luxury hotel only within a 15 minute walk. We did not have enough time to see the entire City. Bring an extra suitcase you will need it to take the most precious of items as a memory. Assure you realize this is a house so do your initial grocery shopping at first arrival, the store is a simple cab ride to and from, very assessable. San Miguel is about 2 hr drive to Guanajuato if you have the time this is a must see CITY as well. Keep in mind that these cities are immaculately cleaned in fact the littering fines are much heftier that the public intoxication fines. This tells you how clean it is. You cannot go wrong in staying at Casa Ojo de Agua. Isabel G. Los Angeles, CA"

  • Great location on a quiet street

"This is a lovely home on a very quiet street, with wonderful views of town and the mountains from the rooftop patio - sunsets were great! The kitchen and living room have a beautiful fireplace to warm up in the cool mornings, and the outside patios and gardens are beautiful. An easy walk to town, with one of the most beautiful streets, Cañadita de los Aguacates (small canyon of avocados), as a shortcut to Juarez Park and town."

  • beyond memorable

"how to describe "sharon's casita" without sounding trite or redundant? let's start with 2 people who both have substantial left and right brain sensibilities. we appreciate attention to detail at all levels. my beau (engineer) was in awe of the construction/materials/craftsmanship of exterior and interior. while i was having my own love affair with art work/furnishings/kitchen + amenities/ spacious bath/outdoor garden. we explored the town exclusively on foot to get a sense of the people/architecture etc. we ate as many meals in as we did at restaurants because the ambience of the casita lends itself to home entertaining. our stay of two weeks was over before it began. so next time we will most assuredly extend our visit with sharon/francisca/carlos/charlie/chila. thanks ever so much for a memorable holiday."
