  • Convenient Location and Excellent House in San Miguel

"We really enjoyed the house over a four day stay in San Miguel after Christmas. The house is very clean with all of the necessary household items to make our stay comfortable. Less than a ten minute walk to Instituto Allende and many other retail establishments. What you see in the VRBO pictures is what you get. Definitely recommend this house for your next stay in San Miguel. The owners are very helpful and provide all instructions and anything else one might need before the trip. I would rent the house again."

  • Wonderful place for family and friends.

"We had a fantastic time staying in this beautiful home. The location was perfect and we walked everywhere. Each night we would gather not he terrace for the most fantastic view of the city and were treated to a gorgeous sunset. I would recommend this home to anyone visiting this beautiful city. It is on a steep hill so be prepared to climb. Taxi's are plentiful, however."

  • Gorgeous house above the Hills

"Kim's house is absolutely stunning. The house is spotless and the owner is welcoming and thoughtful. She even offered to take me to the supermarket to get food for the 5 days we were there. The views from the balconies (there is one from the living room and another on the roof top) were beautiful. My teenagers and I came here over the Christmas holiday to get Spanish lessons and cultural immersion but we got much more than that. There are two bedrooms (one with very comfy king size bed and private bath and another with two twin beds that can be put together as king on the bottom floor with two huge gardens and a living room. There is also another study area w a futon bed and a nice desk. There is another private maids quarter that was not part of the rental in the front garden. Ping pong table was nice in the back garden but we didn't get to play. We considered playing soccer in the back yard but we didn't bring a soccer ball. The kitchen is stocked with all kinds of things. I'm kinda of a foodie chef wanna be so I was in heaven w all he cookware and spices. The town center is about 15 minute walk down hills in a very safe neighborhood. Or you can Uber w wifi at home and from the airport as well... I hope the Mexican government doesn't shut it down. It is a much quieter neighborhood then the town center and you have much more space and the view is incomparable. There's a house keeper who cleans daily and a Gardner. The tap water is purified and safe but the owners have bottled water too. The house alarm and two metal locked doors gives you a sense of security at night. We are Texans so the space heaters and heated blankets were nice at night but most Americans probably don't need it. The gas fireplaces are tricky to use so make sure you get directions and be very careful. Another perk were the guitar, ukulele and electric piano that we got to play and enjoy at night. Kim was so nice to let us play with them. About the town, there are just too many things to do and markets and galleries to explore. If you never tried fresh corn tortillas, you must goto a "totilleria". Many fancy Italian, Argentinian, Peruvian french restaurants to try but we tried to stick to central Mexican food. We will definitely come back again and next time with more time to spend in and out of this gorgeous house on the hill. Thank you Kim for letting us stay at your beautiful home. (Of note, the wifi was excellent all around the house. TV and books around)"

  • Location, location, location.....and not uphill....

"This was our fourth trip to San Miguel. My husband and I have rented casas in all four points. This is the most convenient location to the Jardin and City Centre. As well as being on mostly level ground. Casa de la Puera Rosa is bright and well appointed. You immediately get the feel of welcome by neighbouring families on the street with warm and friendly greetings every day. We felt as safe there as at home in Canada. We found our favourite butcher, shopped at our local grocer and made ourselves at home. We were welcome by Jose, of San Miguel Home Management Company, who showed us around the Casa. We cannot say enough about Jose. If you have any questions or concerns, Jose is there to answer all. Knowing we would be arriving late afternoon, Jose offered to do some shopping before our arrival - for which we were so grateful. But to our added surprise was a bowl of fresh fruit, a bouquet of flowers and a much welcomed bottle of vino upon our arrival by the owner, Laurie. After travelling all day from Toronto to San Miguel, we can't express how much we enjoyed this added touch. We would not hesitate to recommend Casa de la Puerta Rosa to any of our amigos"
