  • Another wonderful stay!

"This was our second visit to San Miguel. We have been there for Christmas and New Years and now for Dia de las Muertos. Both visits have been wonderful in large part due to Casa Vogt. This house is absolutely gorgeous with so much room that three couples can stay in it with complete privacy. The roof top view is incredible. Morning coffee and afternoon Happy Hour on the roof top is a feast for the eyes. I looked forward to it daily as did the rest of group. Usually Maria Louisa is the House Keeper but this visit she was recovering from knee surgery and Elizabeth took her place. I love Maria Louisa but Elizabeth is just as precious. How friendly and loving can people be? I'm just writing about the house but there are so many wonderful things to do in and around town as well. The Pyramids, the mask museum, the hot springs, the shopping, the botanical gardens etc etc. But if you go be sure to stay in this house, it is a treat in and of itself! Mark G."

  • Panoramic Views and Excellent Location

"An excellent home to stay in. The location is PERFECT, short walk to centro and many restaurants. Taxis easy to find. Upstairs: Living Rm, Master BR w/Bath, Walk-in closet, BR #4 (shares closet/bath). Downstairs: BR #2 and BR #3, each w/Bath, Kitchen, Dining, 1/2 Bath. Garden (and outdoor jacuzzi) accessible from downstairs hall. Rooftop terrace accessible by staircase from upstairs living room. Incredible views from Master BR, Living Rm, and Terrace. Housekeeper was incredibly nice and helpful with laundry and cleaning up after us and keeping us stocked with water. Very conveniently located, since we had a group of 5, it was easy to walk to centro (downhill) than try to get 2 taxis each time. I must include a few caveats. First, the VRBO location is not accurate, while the home is in centro, it is further east than the map shows, approx. 0.6km (0.4mi) walk to Centro Jardin. However, this is still very close and much closer than most VRBO homes in the area. Second, the portion of the road in front of this home is very steep, could be quite difficult to walk on for older persons. However, it is only a short stretch of roadway, the rest of downtown is less steep. Also, the home has lots of stairs, which is understandable. The living room is on the upper floor, the dining and kitchen on the lower floor. Lastly, the outdoor tub is heated by a plastic blanket that must be kept on the tub water during the night to keep the heat in and the solar rays heat the water during the daylight, the temperature was around 95deg F the night we swam in it. The jacuzzi portion worked fine, but keep in mind it is not solar-powered heat, it is solar heated (with the plastic blanket). BR #3 (closest to front door) may be hard to sleep in due to road noise during the night. The roadway (one-way) in front of this home is well traveled by vehicles, not a quiet street related to traffic. Even with these items, this place was perfect for our group of 5. We loved this place, it is very cozy and authentic and warm and lots of natural light."

  • Very nice house and would recommend again.

"The house was very nicely decorated and furnished. It has a total of five floors with a few steps in between each level so you did get your work out going up and down. The two separate balconies were wonderful that overlooked the city and great views. It was longer to walk to the Jardin than we had thought and depending on the way you went the steepness of the streets varied. We choose to go a bit farther in order to avoid the very steep street. The distance from the jardin probably saved us from hearing the noise from the church bells and the people at night. We had been advised by two people to never walk at night especially since there were 4 of us ladies but to take a cab which only cost us $50 for the four of us. We fully used the kitchen and really enjoyed resting in the middle of the day. We definitely walked allot and saw allot of the city on foot as had been recommended. There were lots of restaurants, bars and a few small stores near by so it was conveniently located. I would recommend this to others but advise that you need to be in good physical shape because there are allot of steps in the house as well as in the streets and bring your walking shoes."

  • Property is as stated on the web. Such a lovely property and well managed.

"Our family was there for a wedding and location was important. Casa Florida is only a few blocks from the main square and so convenient for walking as well as our wedding venues. Beautiful accommodations and manager, Steven was so very helpful! He arranged transportation from the airport and was available during our stay for any questions and restaurant recommendations. He even arranged for childcare for our grandchildren at the casa while we attended wedding venues. Would not hesitate to book again!"
