  • Home away from home

"Shared Casita Laurita with another writer friend this winter and appreciated all the comforts and attention to details that others have described here, including the beautiful, well-stocked kitchen for cooks, luxurious beds and bedding, and private baths in both rooms. We each had our own floor with total privacy, and convened in ground-floor kitchen when we felt communal. Friend took over the middle bedroom plus writers office space with napping couch, while I had the third-floor bedroom and rooftop terraces to myself. Locks and doors felt secure at the heart of the city. We could step outside and turn right, with great cafe on our block, biblioteca right around the corner, and central jardin just another few blocks walk. If we turned left we ran into Calzada la Luz with plenty of taxis for jaunts farther away, like hot springs, like organic markets, like Fabrica Aurora Art Walk, and this list of places to see and things to do could go on and on. Laura provided helpful lists and recommendations, and local house manager Guillermo was on call as needed. Excellent location, in other words, close enough to take pleasure in the stimulating music of the streets, far enough that fireworks are not going off right over your head."

  • Property is as stated on the web. Such a lovely property and well managed.

"Our family was there for a wedding and location was important. Casa Florida is only a few blocks from the main square and so convenient for walking as well as our wedding venues. Beautiful accommodations and manager, Steven was so very helpful! He arranged transportation from the airport and was available during our stay for any questions and restaurant recommendations. He even arranged for childcare for our grandchildren at the casa while we attended wedding venues. Would not hesitate to book again!"

  • Great Apartment for a Great Mexico City Vactaion

"We stayed at Bruce's apartment for 7 days in July, and found it to have a perfect location, terrific value, and wonderful customer service. Bruce has clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making the rental experience pleasant and positive, including complimentary airport pickup, helpful check-in service, two passkeys to the safe and modern condominium with 24-hour doorman, and a free phone to reach him or one of the Holiday Rentals Mexico staff at any time. And I can't say enough nice things about Ricardo, our incredible and knowledgeable personal tour guide to the Teotihuacan Archeological Site and the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe! Spending our first full day (a Monday) with Ricardo was the perfect way to kick off an exhilarating week exploring this fascinating and fun city. The apartment itself is cozy, but has absolutely everything you need, including excellent Wi-Fi, high-quality appliances, a clean, uncluttered layout, and a wide 12th floor balcony that gives an impressive view over the city. My don't-miss suggestions for Mexico City are: (1) see Los Pyramides with Ricardo as your tour guide; (2) don't miss the famous Chapultepec Castle and Museo Nacional de Antropologia; (3) get down to Xochimilco to the Museo Dolores Olmedo (a beautiful 16th century mansion with the best Diego Rivera collection in the world) and take a canal ride of the colorful trajineras; and (4) go right next door from the apartment to the Museo de Arte Popular, a wonderful small museum of Mexican folk art. And get to as many of the tremendous markets around town as possible. We visited the Ciudadela Artisan's Market, the intense wholesale food Mercado de la Merced, and the Mercado Insurgentes, for best deals on jewelry, silver, and home wares. We used the Metro and walked quite a bit, but it's a big city: put the Uber app on your phone and use it! Rides are insanely inexpensive! Why don't more Americans come to Mexico City for vacation? It is a world-class city, and checks all the boxes -- delicious food, great weather, vibrant culture, fascinating history, excellent value for your money, and lovely, generous people. And Bruce's wonderful apartment is the perfect home base from which to create your own wonderful Mexico City memories."

  • A wonderful place!

"This house is truly a palace. It is an old colonial with 4+ outdoor garden areas: 3 terraces and a courtyard, all filled with beautiful flowers, artfully placed. Views of the city from the upper terraces are tremendous, and there is nice outdoor furniture furniture, including shade umbrellas to enjoy it. We enjoyed watching the birds (hummingbirds, scarlet fly catchers, etc) from the upper terraces. The courtyard has a beautiful fountain (that is also visible and audible from the inside, by opening the glass french doors) and is a garden of eden. Inside is beautiful art, comfy and aesthetically pleasing furniture in an old world Mexican ambiance. Lots of art and books. Plenty of guidebooks and info on San Miguel. Kitchen, washer, and dryer made it all easy. Margarita, the property manager/cook, was helpful with everything (shopped for food, cooked some meals, answered questions about San Miguel, and washed clothes), and even corrected our Spanish when we asked. The location is perfect---about 4 or 5 blocks from the center of town. Walkable, but no traffic noise. There are a few small stores within 2 minutes to pick up freshly made tamales, fresh orange juice, egg, fruit, veggies, etc."
