  • A great find in San Miguel

"A great find in San Miguel ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed at this beautiful home in May 2016 with another couple. Everyone is right…the place is even better than the pictures and the location was perfect. The interior is so pretty and comfortable and the roof top patio was amazing. We could walk everywhere. The location in a private cull de sac made for an easy arrival and departure, plus we were off the street, so it was very quiet. The property management was extremely helpful, and Maria (house keeper) is a gem. She made a fabulous lunch for us serving her delicious specialties… enough that we ate for days. This is a great place to stay and see beautiful San Miguel. You can tell the owners love this home with all the details in design and comfort and how well it is taken care of. We highly recommend this place. It was a lovely stay. Thank you!"

  • Casa Lluvia Blanca - An Oasis of Tranquility

"Relox Street was bright, busy and hot. Like many of these streets, there are few pathways or driveways leading off to give one a glimpse of what lies behind. Solid gates and doors keep their secrets so well that it was with great anticipation that we opened our own “door-in-the-wall”. The immediate change in environment was almost a shock; it was so cool, dark and quiet. A narrow path with high walls covered in bourgainvillea and jasmine opened into the sescret garden where the path descended gently via a series of steps though a lush green environment of shrubs and trees. A little stream followed the path through a series of pools and falls and the overall impression was of a tiny virgin rain forest. The swimming pool, itself fed by running water, extends from this forest garden right up to the french windows of the house, effectively connecting the two elements. The house is tall and elegant. On stepping inside it is spacious, cool and bathed in light. At the centre of the ground floor is a little courtyard accessed on two sides by french windows from the house; with running water and flanked by tall bamboos it is the ideal place for a cool lunch on a hot day. The sense of space is accentuated by there apparently being no ceiling to the ground floor as the two en-suite areas on the first floor are connected by a glass sided walkway. The bedrooms have French widows leading onto little balconies which catch the breeze and all the essence of the garden. Up the stairs to the light and bright studio with its sophisticated sound and video system. At one end of the studio are French windows leading onto a terrace and the Jacuzzi. There is nothing quite like a bubbling jacuzzi, a bubbling glass of champagne and a roof-top view to give one a taste for high living! At the other end of the studio is another terrace from which a wrought iron spiral staircase takes you to the roof garden with spectacular 360 degree views of San Miguel, of its churches and magnificent buildings and beyond them, the hills and plains of Mexico. Although hot in the day-time, in the evening with the fire-bowl alight, it was magic. We have loved staying at Casa Lluvia Blanca. The house is beautiful; there is no better word for it. Stand still in any part of it and the constantly shifting shadows and light change the perspective of everything around you – and there are surprises around every corner! It is truly a house to fill all the senses."

  • Beautiful View

"This is the best place to stay in San Miguel. It is within easy walking distance to the plaza and great restaurants. If you like to dance to live music, their are several places to dance salsa near by that have music almost every night. The apartment is up on a hill with a terrace overlooking the city and a gorgeous view of the sun setting over the far mountains. There is an adorable pair of chattering humming birdsfrequently drinking from the feeder hanging from the terrace. It's fun to watch their antics. They sometimes hover within inches of my face."
