  • Couldn't have picked a better place!!!!!

"We had never used VRBO so we're a little tentative, pictures and people often aren't what they appear. Not so with Barb and Barry! Barb was quick to respond to any questions I had and super pleasant to deal with via email and phone. When our party of 4 arrived we were welcomed with a wonderful meal in the penthouse suite which is very comfortable, has a great view of the surrounding area and gives a little more privacy if desired. Barb and Barry were full of great information, suggestions and so relaxed and comfortable to talk to, they are definitely in the right business. Villa Santa Barbara is conveniently located within walking distance to town or by taking the boat right from the doc. Mornings were spent watching fishermen head out to sea from the canal while waiting on the beautiful sunrise. Then it was fresh pasties delivered every morning to our dock. It was a relaxing, worry free holiday and one I would recommend to anyone. A little more expensive than a lot of places we looked at but the motto " you get what you pay for" definitely applied. Loved it. Thanks for everything."

  • Muy Bueno!

"I hesitate to add another glowing review for no other reason than I want to keep this gem all to myself! That wouldn't be fair though so I'll add my voice to the mix. Just like the other reviews I can't say enough about the house itself, the owners and the entire rental experience. The house is fantastic; well appointed, very private and a perfect oasis in the midst of the city - and VERY quiet at night. It's within walking distance of restaurants, shops and museums and the good sized private pool is fantastic. Beyond this though, the owners were responsive to all my questions and inquiries and couldn't have been nicer. We only corresponded by email but I feel like I know them. Likewise, their parents who live next door and manage the property were two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. We met their dog, saw pictures of their grandchildren and talked to them in passing almost daily. It was a wonderful experience. As for Colima itself, we loved it. We're spending this winter and next looking at potential places to buy a retirement home and Colima is definitely on our short list. It's a very compact livable city with anything you could ever want without being too large or overwhelming. Not every experience we've had with VRBO rentals has been positive but in this case the best thing I can say is there were no surprises. The home was exactly as presented and there was nothing missing or lacking. We're already sorry we have to leave and it's only because of other circumstances that we're not booking next year now, before it's too late. Cheers!"

  • Absolutely Perfect Vacation House

"I don't know where to start with this absolutely perfect house... By far the nicest house in the Las Brisas Neighborhood of Manzanillo and well worth the Money for large groups. I am often Leary of renting homes I haven't seen in person before, but I could tell from the pictures on this site and the reviews people had written that this house was different. If you love falling asleep and waking up to the sound of waves crashing then this is the house for you. Michele, the owner of this property answered all my questions prior to our stay in a very timely manner. This put me at ease and I knew that it would be a great experience. She arranged for us to arrive a little earlier than their usual arrival time, this was helpful as we caught the red eye down to Colima airport from Tijuana. There is a lot to do in Manzanillo. We went deep sea fishing, checked out the Iguanario, we took a very fun snorkeling and booze cruise, we checked out nearby Cuyutlan which has a turtle and crocodile sanctuary. Besides that we lounged at the pool with cocktails and walked up and down the beach. There are lots of vendors on the beach that sell coconuts and other delicious snacks. All the locals in the area were nice and never once did we feel in danger or out of place as tourists. The staff that works at this house was very polite and friendly, they were respectful of our privacy in the morning and did a great job keeping the house clean. I am already missing Manzanillo and can't wait for my next trip. I can assure you that I will be staying at Casa Puesta del Sol!!! and yes in case you were wondering the name of the house is perfect, the sunsets are amazing. There is a very good reason why this house has all 5 star reviews. It quite simply put is the perfect vacation house!!!"

  • Louise

"I have been spending March at El Faro Condominio for the last 10 years, the past three in this two level unit. i have reserved March for years to come in this same unit as it is an ideal top floor unit situated at top-most part of the hill. From its three balconies, you get a 360 view, ocean, mountains, surrounding pueblos below. You can follow, or avoid, the sun all day long by chosing your outside nook. From the condo, there are several walking beaches in both directions ( 5 minutes down the hill) , many unique coffee houses, easy walk to many restauraunts, villages, markets, supermarkets. Going further out, the buses are within minutes, to all destinations, 70 pesos (50 cents). You would be hardpressed to find a place where you would feel safer. The staff, cleaners, groundkeepers are friendly and always helpful. Both the condo and Manzanillo area as a whole are a feel-safe place for a 70ish woman, alone. I have cooked many a wonderful meal in their well-equipped kitchen, gotten caught up in Netflix programs in their entertainment corner, and love waking up to a cool breeze travelling across the room and the sound of ocean waves below. With luck, I hope to have another 20ish March years there, that tells it all!"
