  • Couldn't believe my eyes

"First impression when I entered: WoW. The pictures have nothing on reality with this house. We had our wedding here 2 weeks ago and it was a dream. This review can be VERY long, but I will try to keep it short and sweet. Mary has been so heartfelt. We arrived to Guacamole with salsa and chips. The view is unbelievable. I loved the whole set up of the place. It was upscale, yet comfortable and functional. Whoever designed the layout of this house is a genius. It was easy to have a wedding here because every corner is picturesc. Angeles is truly a professional and a GREAT cook. We just had her make her speacialties the whole stay, we just gave her some money to go grocery shopping and she would come back with the receipt and change. Mary connected me with Dorothy, a wedding planner and Dorothy took care of EVERYTHING for the wedding, I worked with her through e-mail most of the year and she implemented my vision to the T. I was blown away. We will definitely be back!"

  • Christmas 2016 at Villa Smith!

"From our pickup at the darling airport to our drop off at the end of our stay, our experience with Casa Smith in La Punta was amazing! Our family of 3 was in dire need of REST! The Villa and staff allowed us to do just that. Sandra and Pedro were so efficient and yet it was like they were not there. They gave us such privacy! Sandra's cooking was yummy - we overate I'm afraid. She and Pedro took care of every need we had. They both went overboard in their friendliness and helpfulness. The Villa was far larger than we expected, and very comfortable. The view was out of this world with the infinity pool stretching out to the bay waters. We slept better than babies in the beautiful beds and even enjoyed some TV. The restaurants that were recommended were right up our ally. We tried several and were not disappointed. We used the recommended transportation company and were very pleased with the drivers. They were very helpful and made sure we were taken care of at every place they took us. Thank you Casa Smith for a much needed restful and unique experience. Celia, Ronny and Hailey Ravkind, Houston Texas"

  • Tropical heaven!

"Starting at the begnning - we were not sure what was going to happen on our arrival because we hadn't received information other than an address. Turned out the address was a vacant office, and the taxi driver was not able to connect with the phone number we had been given. 6 adults, 60-70 years old, left on a dead-end street, paniced. Luckily a door and doorbell a few feet away were the secret answer! Marisol and her family were absolutely wonderful for our two weeks there. Little English, but her teenage son is a good help, as well as translator apps on her phone. The wifi at the villa is unreliable, but some of us were able to connect from time to time. The upper sitting area is the best connection. Best to take a Spanish dictionary. Make sure to take bug spray for mosquitos and little flies. The place has lots of stairs, and it all is in beautiful trees and gardens. It is as beautiful as the photos show. We didn't know there are staff on the premises, so don't be surprised to see a daily gardener, pool guy, and Hector who takes care of two dogs on the adjacent property. The 12 macaws are beautiful, and reliable alarm clocks at 7:15 am. They are quite loud for about an hour - some of us were a little irritated and some of us liked to hear and watch them during the day. Take earplugs if you think you'll want them. The beach is gorgeous, really clean and very clear water. There aren't beach chairs for you but it's nice to go for a swim and walk on the beach. The Tesoro all inclusive resort is a neighbor, and has a loud show most nights. Again, ear plugs! Not many people were on the beach, they must not be very full. Definitely go snorkling along the rocks by the property, lots of beautiful and colorful fish! There are palapa and chair rentals but we didn't ask about it. The pool is wonderful, heated perfectly. Lounge chairs, and a table and chairs make it a comfortable place to spend a good part of a day. Plus a bathroom! Good thing, because it is 90 stairs, and with walkways, up to the main area. Marisol will bring a lunch tray with cut fruit, cheese - whatever is handy in the fridge. You can shop and cook your own meals or hire Marisol to do it for you. We had delicious meals! She is helpful with arranging taxis if you are going anywhere. The walk to Las Hadas for a taxi was more challanging for me than the stairs up from the pool! It is quite a hilly area, and the walk is not quite as easy as "the next street over.""
