  • A wonderful winter getaway!

"We had a great month at El Faro. The condo was very well equipped, and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable, from margaritas in the blender to burgers on the barbecue! The views from both sides of this corner unit were breathtaking- glorious sunrises on one side and amazing sunsets and ocean views on the other side. The people at El Faro were very friendly - the staff, the residents, and the visitors like us. Beatriz, the manager, was a gem. She answered all our questions, called taxis for us, booked a couple of tours for us, and went out of her way to help us enjoy our stay. The grounds at El Faro were very well cared for and the pools were a great place to spend some time in the sun and visit with the others. El Faro is situated very high up, so it is quite a walk to get to shopping, restaurants, etc. We made the trip down with no problems, but found we had to rely on taxis to return home with our groceries. Taxis are cheap, so it was worth it, if only for the view we enjoyed every day. The condo owners were very helpful and great to deal with. They provided us with some very valuable information about the area, which helped us in choosing things we wanted to see and do."

  • Perfect Beach House, Perfect Location, Perfect Staff!

"This beautiful Beach House and it's staff catered to 12 of us for 1 glorious week. The house was roomy and clean with beautiful artwork everywhere. We hired the cook and she had a variety of meals all week and it was delicious!! Plus it is walking distance to many restaurants and stores. We definitely made the perfect choice in renting this property. Thanks you so much Michele!!"

  • Amazing!

"It's so hard to come back to reality after an amazing week at the Palace by the Sea.  For Christmas, my husband and I took our family of three children and five grandchildren (and one on the way)  to the palace for a week. It was the best present we ever gave to our family, and the best they ever received. Presents are forgotten but memories remain.  The home is more than the pictures show, I know that's hard to believe because we dreamed over the pictures and video of the palace for months before we left. Upon arrival in Manzanillo airport, we were transferred to the Palace by a great group (HARO)  and received a very warm welcome from all the staff with the best margaritas we ever had. The Palace staff is amazing, they are the most wonderfully warm and talented people. They could anticipate every want or need and would bend over backwards to assist in any way they could. Truly amazing people and amazing food. The meals were an event themselves. The best food we had in Manzanillo was at the Palace!  The beach at La Punta was awesome, our group rented jet skiis through HARO that were brought to the beach, so convenient. Because there was so much to do and see and our group would want to go in different directions, we also had HARO assist with additional transportation (Luis was our go-to travel guide, he did an excellent job).  We want to thank the Alpers for sharing their home with us, allowing us to build great memories of a wonderful time."

  • Very Relaxing Spot With Great View

"Fantastic place to hang out in the pool, palapa or hammocks, great view of the harbor. Special thanks to property manager, Hermelinda (Linda), for her dedication to make sure we had everything we needed, fix what was broken and provide information on places to go and things to do. We did a day trip with her to Colima and area, excellent. Our unit was comfortable, nice breeze flowing thru with very basic but adequate dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Sombra, her dog, was a constant companion every day, hanging out on the deck, in our unit or taking her for walks. Caretaker, Benito, was always around, cleaning the pool, cleaning the deck area, painting and helping as required. Having the Housekeeper twice a week was a nice luxury. The long and steep hill leading up to our unit was challenging but easier with each descent and climb back up. the back trail on the left side was easier but tricky with dirt and rocky section and ample supply of barking dogs. Using the stairs thru the lower unit was easiest. Of course, using very reasonable taxis was always preferred. The beach below is very easy to walk as long as you care, walked many times to Oasis for refreshments and meals. Check out their happy hour times and entertainment. Great eating places, favorites include Pacifica Del Mar, La Forgon, Jack's, Oasis, and for basic cheap food and drinks, hostel at the bottom the the hill. A unique experience was Bar Social, by Soriano, you pay for drinks and food is free. Local Saturday market is intriguing for finding Mexican crafts, cloths, jewelry or fresh vegetables and fruit. Major grocery stores in Manzanillo include La Comer, Walmart and Sorieno, very reasonably priced and cheap booze too. Highly recommend day trip or two to Maleque and area as well as Colima to see the active volcano. Pleasant surprise was the need for a dentist to make a night guard, Dr. Guillermo Brambila Meda in Santiago was very accommodating, funny and cheap, 1/10 the cost compared to home.. Highly recommended if needed."
