  • Perfect vacation!

"I can't say enough about how beautiful this place is, and how lovely our time spent there was. My family (husband, 3 children, grandparents) stayed here for a week and were very comfortable, with every wish being taken care of by the excellent staff. The views off the bedrooms and main living area are stunning, and there was always a gentle ocean breeze. Sunsets are amazing, enjoy the view from the beautiful infinity pool. The estate also has an amazing private beach, with it's own set of showers and pools, as well as a safe, inlet sand beach. We did a day trip to see a little town near an active volcano, and we also enjoyed the little restaurants around Manzanillo. But I agree with another reviewer, there is really no need to ever leave this beautiful home! We loved every minute and wished we could have stayed longer. Definitely hope to go back."

  • Muy Bueno!

"I hesitate to add another glowing review for no other reason than I want to keep this gem all to myself! That wouldn't be fair though so I'll add my voice to the mix. Just like the other reviews I can't say enough about the house itself, the owners and the entire rental experience. The house is fantastic; well appointed, very private and a perfect oasis in the midst of the city - and VERY quiet at night. It's within walking distance of restaurants, shops and museums and the good sized private pool is fantastic. Beyond this though, the owners were responsive to all my questions and inquiries and couldn't have been nicer. We only corresponded by email but I feel like I know them. Likewise, their parents who live next door and manage the property were two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. We met their dog, saw pictures of their grandchildren and talked to them in passing almost daily. It was a wonderful experience. As for Colima itself, we loved it. We're spending this winter and next looking at potential places to buy a retirement home and Colima is definitely on our short list. It's a very compact livable city with anything you could ever want without being too large or overwhelming. Not every experience we've had with VRBO rentals has been positive but in this case the best thing I can say is there were no surprises. The home was exactly as presented and there was nothing missing or lacking. We're already sorry we have to leave and it's only because of other circumstances that we're not booking next year now, before it's too late. Cheers!"

  • Comfortable Seclusion

"Casa Coco was a perfect fit for our group of six adults. The property is perfectly located at the end of a secluded beach near the resort. Neighbors are sparse, so the place really feels like you have paradise to yourself. It's a short drive to a boat launch to get to Barra or a slightly longer drive around the peninsula. I've always stayed in town in the past, which is it's own great experience, but Casa Coco offers a very different experience: it is seclusion at it's very best. You can opt in to town activities when you want, but otherwise have paradise to yourself at the house. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were super comfortable after long days of swimming, lounging and adventuring. The kitchen has everything you need to make great meals. The shared spaces in the house are perfect for spreading out. Between the poolside deck, second floor balcony and rooftop deck, there's a lot of space to relax, watch the stars, sunrises and sunsets and enjoy the peace. Lisa was a great a host and made the whole process a breeze, and the property manager was always accessible. One thing we didn't realize at first was that the area is subject to brown outs, so we were without power for periods of time, which was actually just fine all of us, as it allowed us to relax and enjoy a drink by the pool. As others have noted, the surf is very rough by the house, so absolutely no swimming there, but up the beach there is a lovely cove that is great for swimming, and the pool is perfect for laps or just lounging in. I can't recommend this place enough!"
