  • Fabulous Stay

"We have a high standard and Jack's place did not disappoint. Fantastic Views, close enough to hear the waves crash and walk to the beach, bars, restaurants. But equally important, the furnishings, bedding, decor were all very nice and well maintained. The view from the pool is fantastic and the property grounds are lush and well groomed. Highly recommend! Jack was quick to respond to any questions and easy to reach."

  • Spectacular Views from a Gorgeous Tropical Paradise

"We just returned from 21 days at Casa Rumi. The views cannot be surpassed, no matter what direction you look or from where. From the main living area, you see the bay, the mountains and the open Pacific ocean. If you wake during the night, you see a stunningly beautiful view of illuminated Zihuatenajo across the bay from the master bed without even getting up!, The views are everywhere. The landscaping is breathtaking. Tropical flowers, fruits and plants everywhere. Elias, the caretaker, manages them beautifully. He is there for about an hour or so 3 days a week pruning, watering and sweeping. He also takes care of the pool and miscellaneous household maintenance. Oh yes, the house itself. It is beautifully designed, equipped and furnished. Honestly, it was more space than my husband and I needed for just the two of us, but it was such a luxury to have it all to ourselves. Would be perfect for two couples. Very open to the outside and built into the cliffs in the way done only in Mexico (especially, Zihua). You can see the house no matter where you are in Zihua. It is at the very top of the highest hill at the southerly end of La Ropa. We had great fun pointing it out to people when they asked where we were staying. The pool was a little cool for us, but it probably gets more sun (and becomes warmer) later in the year. It is unheated and relies on the sun for heat. Even though we had 21 days of perfectly blue skies and sunny weather in the high 80's, the sun angles were such that the pool was shaded until about 2:00 p.m. Then it got sun, but not enough to warm it up. Good for exercise, as being at the top of the highest hill, everything is downhill to get to and uphill to return. We tended to walk out and cab back. We didn't have a car. Richard and Charlotte were gracious hosts. Very responsive to questions; both before we left and while at the house. We loved it!"

  • Zihuatanejo for 10 days

"Just spent 10 days at this location, having been to Zihuatanejo many times over the past 16 years. Best location, near all beaches, Comercial, downtown. Spectacular views, just above Playa Madera, many great places to eat within walking distance. Two bedrooms, two baths, kitchenette fully stocked, pool on premises. Carmen is manager and is extremely helpful with any issues and recommendations. Would definitely stay here again!"

  • We liked it so much we came back 8 months later

"We were there last February and liked it so much that we returned again in November. That fact alone says more than I can say in a review. This is a gem. It's every bit as nice as its pictures. Master bedroom, main living room with kitchen, a nice second bedroom, two baths, all air conditioned with controls in each room, a new modern system. And a balcony that includes a nice shaded patio, with a fan, that we used for every meal. The condo complex is connected to the Hotel Viceroy, so you can use the hotel's special area at the beach, where waiters will serve drinks and meals if you like. Playa de la Ropa is a beautiful beach. It's just a 10-minute taxi ride into the main town of Zihuatenejo, 50-60 pesos this month. What the pictures don't show is that everybody you deal with in this place is friendly, happy to help, and reliable. Fernanda, the housekeeper, is a delightful addition to any vacation, happy to prepare meals and wash clothes and keep the place spotless if you pay her her normal (very reasonable and fair) rates. The people in the main office are accessible and always helpful too. They are happy to bring you the big bottles of water for the kitchen and set aside beach furniture for you at the main beach (for a very reasonable fee). As I write this I debate giving it four stars instead of five, but hey, we returned to the same place, so that seems unfair. The two reasons I might have for making it four, are: For the record, you don't see the beach from the condo unless you stand in the right spot and look straight down the path through the palms. You are about 100 yards away, maximum, with a view of the lush vegetation, the tops of the palms, and the well-paved path down through the garden past the hotel rooms, the hotel gym, the 25-year-old parrot, one of the pools, an outdoor restaurant, to the beach. The wireless bandwidth is only 2-3 Mbps, and the router is by the side table in the master bedroom, so you get wireless effectively only in the master bedroom and the covered patio."
