  • Relax and enjoy!

"What an absolutely wonderful week away!! After a very long day of travel it was such a welcome surprise to have a full dinner in the fridge waiting for us - lasagna, salad, bread, chips, salsa, beer and wine! It was so much appreciated to be able to unpack and unwind and not worry about getting supplies or going out. That's what we call super hosts (Barb and Barry)!! As for the villa it was just perfect - the pool, the palapa, the kitchen, the bed, the loungers were all excellent. Extremely clean and well kept! The location is on a canal and every morning the french baker comes by with the best almond croissants I've ever had. A nice start to the day - coffee and croissant pool side with a good book. The little town of Barra is charming with lots of great places to eat and wander around. We were easily able to walk to the town or if too tired a water taxi was easily available. We also took the local bus to the beach at La Manzanilla - a great beach not too far away! Villa Santa Barbara was the best place to come back to after a day tripping around the area. Next time we come we will for sure book more than 1 week. Thank you again for sharing your villa and your time as you were always available to answer any of our questions. It was such a help in making our trip a great one!"

  • Great B & B that goes the extra mile

"This was our first trip to Barra de Navidad, Mexico. Paradise is so much closer than you think! A short flight into Manzanillo and our host Alan was able to meet us at the airport and drive us the short ½ hour scenic drive to the Casa located on the canals in Barra. Once we got there, our hostess, Karen had a lovely welcome snack of a traditional Mexican favorite, handcut Pico de Gallo and tortilla chips. That and a refreshing drink were exactly the way to start our stay. We were lucky enough to stay in the Canal Room which opened out to the upper Palapa and overlooks the canal. This beautifully appointed room had air conditioning available but it was not necessary as the breezes cool your room perfectly at night. It, like all the rooms each have a full bath in suite, so you never feel like you have to share more than you’d like to. We were shown the other rooms available to guests which were equally lovely and the apartment with its own full kitchen available for rent. We found that dining out in Barra is affordable, so even though we had a great cooking area in the upper Palapa, we mostly tried different local restaurants and bars. Yes, we even did sunset (time of day) at Sunset (bar), which arguably has the best margaritas in town. Mornings were delightful. Alan and Karen put out a variety of fresh fruits, granola, and yoghurt each day, along with toasted bagels and English muffins for breakfast. The most difficult part about this time of day was to decide what to do. One afternoon Alan and Karen took us out on their boat and we enjoyed the sights by water. Another afternoon, Alan took Len out in the hills to explore the areas haciendas while Karen and I took in some shopping. Then there were the days we enjoyed reading and napping by the pool. The common areas on the main floor are comfortable and really reflect the owners diverse and exciting backgrounds. I cannot forget to mention the most gracious of our hosts, Lobo the dog, Diego the cat and McIver the parrot. Our experience at Casa Seafever was restorative and relaxing, just like a newfound home away from home."

  • Favorite vacation spot

"I've lost track of the number of visits we've made to this fabulous home over the years. There are always delightful changes and updates to the already perfect home and gardens which are well maintained. We prefer the quiet and privacy of a home with it's own pool, and Casa Tranquilidad delivers that and so much more. Barra is still a quaint, welcoming town. Lots of local restaurants, nearby stores, short drives for fun day trips to other towns and beaches. We look forward to our next visit."

  • Villa Santa Barbara

"Great location in the quaint fishing village. Awakened to boats going by and a rooster crowing. We came for a week for our daughters wedding and brought my parents in there 80's. Talking to Barb before we arrived we had the perfect room for them as no stairs. The pool was wonderful. The penthouse where we stayed was great. Barb arranged someone to come do pedicures at the house and also helped arrange a tour of the countryside. The palapa by the pool was wonderful as we had our meals together there often. We also had our whole family over. If anyone has trouble walking would recommend renting a golf cart to get around as my mom could not have managed on the uneven streets. Barb and Barry are there for the winter so if you want more privacy may want to go somewhere else. Thanks Barb and Barry for a great week."
