  • Great House & Location.

"We just returned from a 2 month stay in this lovely home in Barra De Navidad. This home is exactly as pictured. The kitchen is fully equipped, bed linens and towels were provided. The home is very secure and safe. The home has ceiling fans in every room and no AC is needed. There is always a nice breeze flowing through the home. The pool area is nice and very private. The home is in a very nice neighborhood and close to shopping and restaurants. Cathy & Rick, the local property managers are just a phone call away if you have any questions. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone."

  • Another Great Stay at Casa Golondrinas

"This was our second stay at this amazing villa and, once again, we came away more than impressed. None of issues noted in the previous review affected us. There were no smells, no water issues and every time we contacted the property manager (Josefina's office is an easy 10 minute walk from the villa), she was quick to address the concerns we had (ran out of bottled water in the villa and we got more water a couple hours later). Hot water in the showers doesn't come right away, but if you run the shower for a bit, it'll come. The pool is amazing to have after the short climb up the hill from the beach. Its great to have AC in the main house, but as mentioned, the guest house doesn't have any. Not a big deal. We didn't see any of the maintenance-related issues that the previous review mentioned. The rooms were clean and the cleaning staff and gardeners were great to talk to as well. The pool furniture was clean as well. Yes, there are cockroaches on the pool deck, but its the outdoors in Mexico... not much you can do about that and we wouldn't expect it. We didn't use the kitchen to make food because there are so many great and cheap restaurants within a 10 minute walk in town that we just woke up and went down the hill. Yes, the TV is old, but we didn't turn it on once during the 10 days that we were there. The stereo is quite old, so if you'd like to play music by the pool, make sure to bring your own (we did). We had 12 people (late 20's/early 30's) staying at the Villa for 9 nights and found that there was more than enough space for all of us and it never felt crowded. Would definitely recommend this Villa for larger groups and we'll be back for sure!"

  • Great B & B that goes the extra mile

"This was our first trip to Barra de Navidad, Mexico. Paradise is so much closer than you think! A short flight into Manzanillo and our host Alan was able to meet us at the airport and drive us the short ½ hour scenic drive to the Casa located on the canals in Barra. Once we got there, our hostess, Karen had a lovely welcome snack of a traditional Mexican favorite, handcut Pico de Gallo and tortilla chips. That and a refreshing drink were exactly the way to start our stay. We were lucky enough to stay in the Canal Room which opened out to the upper Palapa and overlooks the canal. This beautifully appointed room had air conditioning available but it was not necessary as the breezes cool your room perfectly at night. It, like all the rooms each have a full bath in suite, so you never feel like you have to share more than you’d like to. We were shown the other rooms available to guests which were equally lovely and the apartment with its own full kitchen available for rent. We found that dining out in Barra is affordable, so even though we had a great cooking area in the upper Palapa, we mostly tried different local restaurants and bars. Yes, we even did sunset (time of day) at Sunset (bar), which arguably has the best margaritas in town. Mornings were delightful. Alan and Karen put out a variety of fresh fruits, granola, and yoghurt each day, along with toasted bagels and English muffins for breakfast. The most difficult part about this time of day was to decide what to do. One afternoon Alan and Karen took us out on their boat and we enjoyed the sights by water. Another afternoon, Alan took Len out in the hills to explore the areas haciendas while Karen and I took in some shopping. Then there were the days we enjoyed reading and napping by the pool. The common areas on the main floor are comfortable and really reflect the owners diverse and exciting backgrounds. I cannot forget to mention the most gracious of our hosts, Lobo the dog, Diego the cat and McIver the parrot. Our experience at Casa Seafever was restorative and relaxing, just like a newfound home away from home."

  • Comfortable Seclusion

"Casa Coco was a perfect fit for our group of six adults. The property is perfectly located at the end of a secluded beach near the resort. Neighbors are sparse, so the place really feels like you have paradise to yourself. It's a short drive to a boat launch to get to Barra or a slightly longer drive around the peninsula. I've always stayed in town in the past, which is it's own great experience, but Casa Coco offers a very different experience: it is seclusion at it's very best. You can opt in to town activities when you want, but otherwise have paradise to yourself at the house. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were super comfortable after long days of swimming, lounging and adventuring. The kitchen has everything you need to make great meals. The shared spaces in the house are perfect for spreading out. Between the poolside deck, second floor balcony and rooftop deck, there's a lot of space to relax, watch the stars, sunrises and sunsets and enjoy the peace. Lisa was a great a host and made the whole process a breeze, and the property manager was always accessible. One thing we didn't realize at first was that the area is subject to brown outs, so we were without power for periods of time, which was actually just fine all of us, as it allowed us to relax and enjoy a drink by the pool. As others have noted, the surf is very rough by the house, so absolutely no swimming there, but up the beach there is a lovely cove that is great for swimming, and the pool is perfect for laps or just lounging in. I can't recommend this place enough!"
