  • Beautiful Property!

"This property is absolutely gorgeous! From the street you would never guess the beauty that lies inside. The property shows extensive planning & love that was taken to build it. Once you step inside the door you have your own private resort and really not much reason to leave. This property is great for multi-families. We vacationed here for a total of 24 days with my husband's family. It can accommodate easily three separate families with their own bedroom, kitchen and bathrooms. Another reviewer mentioned that this is not a property for young children, but I would disagree. We vacationed here with our twin 3 years olds and my 2 year old niece and 6 month old Nephew and we could not have been happier. There are many steps but our children handled them with ease. For us this property being multi-layered with steps made the pool less dangerous for children because it would have taken them a lot of effort to get there before us, so it worked out well. We were happy to find out there was air conditioning (I could not find that in the description when we booked) and I am sure it depends on the time of the year but we had no real issues with mosquitoes (we did come heavily armed with repellent products but in the end we didn't need them.) Any issue with the house itself and with just a phone call (or email in my case) the local property management took care of it right away for us. If you do stay in Ajijic I highly recommend renting golf carts for part of your stay. The garage had plenty of room to store them and available electrical outlets to charge them. We rented them from Lake Chapala Golf Carts and they were perfect for getting around Ajijic. Another great selling point is that his home is just a easy 30 minute or so drive from the airport. I had to leave Mexico a couple of times on business so it turned out very easy to come and go. We also visited the local Walmart many, many times and could buy everything we are accustom to from back home. We had a great time and highly recommend this property."

  • Relaxing and comfortable home

"For the first time ever I stayed in one place for 2 weeks. The Jewel house was perfect for a long stay. There is drawer and closet space so we did not have to live out of a suitcase. There was some fresh food in the refrigerator that helped with the first day. We felt very safe and cozy here. I especially liked having a washer and dryer we could use whenever we needed it. Made it easier to pack light. The decor is very Mexican and tastefully done. Tile trim and sinks are lovely. Leo and his staff do a great job of keeping the property clean and attractive. All the windows have screens which do keep out the mosquitos. We saw no bugs inside. Since the house and garden are inside a walled area it was fine to sleep with the windows open. We were close enough to the plaza and most restaurants that walking was not a problem. Leo has a binder full of useful information. He has thought of everything. Enjoy your stay at the Jewel house. There is a locked garage if you have a car and if you want to rent his other home at the same time, it shares the garage area behind the locked gates. Perfect for a large group."

  • Beautiful Lake view, well appointed home.

"We spent six months in this lovely home. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need, and much much more. We spent a lot of time on the covered patio enjoying the lake view and fountain. The light on the patio made it a great place for me to paint. Views are exceptional up in the Mirador. Many photos were shared with friends from the rooftop. The neighborhood is beautiful and the streets are slate, so they are good for walking. We recommend this lovely home with it's close proximity to restaurants, food shopping and many other services."

  • Beautiful Home and Lovely Gardens

"Staying at the Villa on Rio Naza was a wonderful experience. The home is very large, open and airy. It is clean and well maintained. Lots of light comes in. From the patios you can see up to the mountains and down to the lake all while being securely ensconced in your own little borrowed paradise. The breezes are wonderful. We were at the tail end of the rainy season, and had lightening and thunder almost nightly along with a good hour of heavy rain each night. The days were sunny and war. Mimi, the owner, is very helpful. She touched base with us just after we made our reservation months ago and after we settled in. She sent us a ton of helpful information about the home and the general area. She has a contact there, Veronica, who assisted us in every way possible. From renting a vehicle, rides to and from the airport. Monika, the housekeeper, quietly comes in and does her work. The gardeners were there almost daily keeping everything in tip top shape. Everyone was pleasant and accommodating. This is a wonderful place, close to everything, yet quiet and peaceful. We highly recommend this wonderful getaway. The people of Ajijic are ever so pleasant. Lots of amazing places to eat and to shop."
